Why can't you or Xylephious deal with them? I asked Garth frantically.
Unfortunately, we can't.
Chapter 9: Truth
Listen here Jeyn..
I was a summoned hero for the sole purpose of defeating the demon king with my friends. We met god and asked if we can go back. he told us there was no other way.
"God", couldn't leave the heavenly border that was created by the upper gods.
All we had to do to go home is fight. My friends had a kid and I was an orphan, with no love, no money, no life.
I thought, 'this is my great journey to greatness'.
For the first part, I enjoyed being a hero.
People all over the continent were praising me, they were singing songs, laughing with me, and most of all.. accepting me.
I liked playing hero.
I looked at my friends and saw their terrified faces.
While I was here enjoying life, they were despairing about their child.
I was ashamed of myself. I hated the fact that I get to have a good life while they, my most precious friends who helped me every time, is experiencing the opposite.
I manned up, I swore to myself to get stronger to go back to earth for my friends to be with their child.
Finally, we reached the demon king's castle, It was a rough path.
Many near-deaths
situations, but also many made memories.
We reached the Throne room and the demon king was sitting right there. It was like some kind of cliche manga.
After that, I couldn't remember anything but me limping because of the loss of mana. I only remembered this because of the pain it had caused me.
I stood up with all my strength.. there I saw my two precious friends, lying down on the floor.. dead.

I had already given up, suddenly, my vision was flashed with a bright light and I returned to the first place I met God.
God appeared and told me, 'Unfortunately, your friends didn't make it, I'm sorry.'
I only looked at him with pure anger and shouted, 'WHY? WHY HAVE DID YOU DO THIS TO THEM? THE- THEY ONLY WANTED A GOOD LIFE!'.
I said all of that with pure rage flowing through my veins.
I eventually calmed down, I just sat down and said, 'what? what is it this time?'
God told me, 'Since you have completed your mission, I will grant you a choice and three wishes.'
What are the choices? I asked while not caring at all.
God told me, to either stay here or go back to my world.
My body began shaking again, my mind also shook.
I didn't have a life back there, if I came back, I would be lonely, sad and depressed.
I didn't want to go back, but knowing that my late friend's child had to be alone, I needed to go back.
Then, I realized.
I still had three wishes.
From then on, I decided to give two of my wishes to my friends' baby.
Firstly, I wished for the baby to have extremely good luck and perseverance with the utmost strengths for self-defence.
Secondly, I wished for that baby to have a long life of greatness and victory.
And the third wish I wished for is.. Immortality.
God fulfilled all my desires and I was left with a decision, stay.. or leave.
God left and I was teleported back to my kingdom. After a few decades, I got married, started a family, and died.
Fake death. After all of that, I wandered the globe for a few millenniums and eventually reached a demigod state.

I created my own space where time is warped. The time inside is 200 times slower which means that if you spent a year in the real world, you'd spent 200 years here.
I just watched the earth as I get everything sorted and waited for godhood.
Until "they" came.
By "they", means the Seven Deadly sins.
That's my backstory.
After hearing all of that, I was still confused.
I asked Garth, Politely speaking, you still haven't explained why you cannot be able to deal with them?
He said, my soul is attached to this dimension, if I leave for too long, my life essence would be drained.
I was about to ask why Xylephious couldn't do anything when Garth cut me off and said, 'as for Xylephious, he was sealed by the 72 demon lords which had either soul states and physical states. But that's a story for later.'
Finally, the second thing he told me before sending me off was, 'Don't worry too much, you can still enjoy life as it is, for now. You still have 10 years before they awaken, in here, it will be 2000 years so if possible, I will reach godhood and come back just on time.
Lastly, he told me, 'Good luck.' before sending me off.
I appeared back into where my parents were and it seems that everything had calmed down.
My parents were sitting down at the corner and soldiers were asking them questions because slavery was illegal in that area.
I saw my parents' terrified faces until they saw me, my parents ran up to me and hugged me tightly.
They told me how terrified they were when you were taken away by a strange man.
They told me that I was gone for one minute, but I was sure that my conversation with Garth lasted for more than 40 minutes.
Time had indeed warped in the space Garth is in.
Everything had been solved except our house that had been burned down.
I said to my parents, 'What about our house?'.
My Dad scoffed and said earnestly, 'It's fine Jeyn, the good thing is that your mother is okay and we are together.'
We hugged each other tightly and father suddenly turned confused about something, I asked what was going on?
Then he said, wait for a second.. How did you know where I wa-
Garth's POV:
That child finally grew up huh..
He grew up well didn't he, Jez and Yeryn?
I hope you saw him today as his parents..
Even while i'm talking to your graves, I think you guys are still guiding him.
I hope I could've helped him much more.
Ha.. I miss you guys.

Tales of the Legendary Scholar
They meet in the most unlikely moment and turned their life around. Freidrech newly arrived in his own nation's capital city, which is so foreign to him compared to his village's idyllic and nondiscriminatory atmosphere, after he is forced to come. Now, he is facing a royal prince and tells him to bow. This draws out one of his late father's teachings from the deepest recesses in his mind. "The blood of your great ancestors runs in your veins. Don't easily bow down to anyone, or accept suppression by any being, not even from a monarch, unless you pledge your allegiance to him. Also, giving in to oppression is directly telling the oppressor that you're easy prey and open for manipulation." He is uncertain on how to face this oppression right now. Will he bows or not? What will he do to uphold his father's words while keeping his life safe? As for the prince, Theodrech has nothing to do with Freidrech, so he wishes to let this slip, but the boy opens his mouth and proposes the most ludicrous challenge he ever heard and triggers his curiosity. "I, Freidrech Goederf Gerboud, son of the late Village Chief Louvel Gerboud of Wrilon, will challenge you, Your Highness, to a battle of riddles… If you win, I will not only bow but be your servant for the rest of my life." This amuses the prince. It is the first he met a boy of the same age who is not intimidated by the air of authority he projects. Rather, this boy challenges him. "Why are you so headstrong? In fact, bowing to me is an honor. You saw the King's noble Knights. When they saw me, they bowed," says Theodrech, testing Freidrech. "Allow me to be forward, Your Highness. For me, bowing to a monarch does not guarantee loyalty. If I were you, I rather have men who stand straight in my presence but who got my back, than bowing men who are dreaming of my death," replies Freidrech. The prince’s curiosity increases. A huge smile is seen on his face. Prince Theodrech decides to take Freidrech under his wing. Little did they know, this boy who Prince Theodrech takes in as his confidant and friend in the most ridiculous fashion is someone indispensable in his life and the one who can help him succeed the throne when he almost believes he has lost. Thus, the Tales of the Legendary Scholar begins. ------ o ------ Old Synopsis: A famous ancient adage stated, behind a successful man is a woman BUT… In these lands, the monarchs are seeking not a woman to stand behind them but the man hailed as the Legendary Scholar.
