《The Tales of Hammerfall》Chapter 11 -- Apprentice

The next day Raph woke to find an empty workshop, Isaac had already left. Whatever it was he was doing must have been important for him to leave so early. With his new ring on and his gear inside it Raph made his way to the stables at the front gate to look for Clark. When he got there he found Clark’s carriage and knocked on the side, he was answered once again by a frantic shuffling sound. A minute later Clark’s disheveled face popped out of the door.
“Geez, why so early?” Clark said, as he recognized Raph as his alarm clock.
“Good morning to you too.” Raph said as Clark collected himself and stepped out of the carriage.
“You ready?” Raph asked.
“Yeah, all good boss.” Clark replied.
They made their way over to the Adventurers Guild to look at the job postings, however when they arrived they saw a familiar face. Erwin Fullmore was sitting at one of the tables in the waiting area at the other end of the building, looking pretty uncomfortable. Raph and Clark decided to go over and see if they could help.
“Hey Erwin, are you alright?” Raph asked as they approached.
Erwin's head whipped over to them. “Oh thank the gods, you’re here.” he said.
“What’s wrong?” asked Clark
“Well you know how I dropped my sword in the dungeon. My father found out about it and he’s going to kill me if I don’t get it back. The thing is I can’t go in alone and face that goblin.” he explained.
“Right, so you want us to help you get your sword back?” Raph said.
“You’d help me? Just like that?” Erwin exclaimed.
“Yeah why not?” said Clark.
“Yes, we were going to go back to the dungeon anyway,” said Raph.
“You guys are lifesavers, I don’t know what I would have done if you didn’t show up today.” said Erwin.
“Alright, grab your stuff we may as well head out straight away.” Raph said. “Erwin, do you have another sword?”
Erwin shifted uncomfortably in his seat. “No.” he said under his breath.
“Right, we’ll have to make a stop then.” Raph said as he led them out of the guild and towards the workshop.
“Uhh, Raph. I can’t afford a new sword.” Erwin said.
“Don’t worry, this one will be on the house.” Raph explained, as he opened the door to the shop.
“What kind of sword do you use anyway?” Raph asked.
“I, uhh, usually use a two handed claymore.” Erwin said, as he looked around
“Oh good, I remember making one of those. Now where did I put it?” Raph looked around for the sword he had made a few days earlier. He walked over to the shelf in the back that had some of his training pieces on and eventually found a claymore. Picking it up, Raph inspected it.

Basic claymore (good) -- A claymore made for fighting, the smith has potential.
‘Pfft. Has potential.’ Raph thought as he brought it over to Erwin.
“Here you go.” He said as he handed Erwin the sword.
Erwin took the sword and looked it over, Raph thought he looked surprised.
“Did you make this?” Erwin asked.
“Yeah, I made it a few days ago with some other things.” Raph explained.
“You work here? With Isaac Murphy?” Erwin asked somewhat frantically.
“Yes, why?” Raph said.
“Uhhmm.” There was a long pause while Erwin stared off into space. “No reason I guess. This is a really good sword, thank you.”
“No worries.” Raph said, “Now we should get a move on.”
Raph locked the shop behind them as they left towards the main gate, Erwin continued to look at his new sword occasionally muttering something under his breath. They got loaded onto the carriage and started the journey over to the Emerald Grotto, it was plain sailing and took the trio about an hour to get to the entrance.
You have entered dungeon: Emerald Grotto
As they entered Raph analyzed his two companions.
Clark Cooper -- Beast Tamer Lv.21
Erwin Fullmore -- Swordsman Lv.20
The beginning was much the same as it was last time, they cleared a few small groups of mobs. Raph left the job to the other two as currently he was the highest level out of the three. They eventually got to the large cavern, just before where they found Erwin the last time they were here. They used the same strategy as last time, to great effect. With Clark controlling one of the goblins and Raph and Erwin taking out as many as possible it wasn’t long until the cavern was cleared.
You are now: Breaker Lv.25

‘There it is.’ Raph thought. He had been waiting to see what choices he would get. He first decided to allocate his points into Dex.

Dex. +2, Vit. +2, +2 Fre, +10Hp, +5St, +5Mn
‘Ok, that’s interesting. It would help with the min-maxing of my stats. I like the idea but it’s not a blacksmithing class.’

You have been chosen by Isaac Murphy The Volcano. You are his apprentice, wear it well.

‘Eruption? Holy shit, I guess that’s something to do with Isaac?’ Raph looked at his new skills. Overall the skills he har were really powerful, his burst damage had just increased significantly.
“Alright guys, are we ready?” Raph looked around, Erwin was up and waiting, Clark however had a giddy look on his face.
Clark Cooper -- Beast Tamer Lv.25
‘Ah, looks like he just got his second class as well.’
“Clark, can I ask what you got?” Raph said, as Erwin looked shocked at the question.
Clark eventually snapped out of it. “Ah sorry boss, lost myself for a moment there. I got a class called Stalker. It's like a rogue-like class that works well with Beast Tamer.” he explained.
“Huh, that sounds interesting. Mine’s called Isaac’s Apprentice.” Raph said.
“Wait wait wait.” Erwin practically shouted. “Are you both mad! Why are you just telling each other about your classes? And did you just say ISAAC’S APPRENTICE?”
“Uhh yeah, what’s wrong with that?” Raph said.
Erwin dropped the sword in his hand, looking dumbfounded. “What’s wrong with that he says. You’re both crazy!”
“OK, anyway. Clark, I'm guessing your new class has some combat ability?” Raph asked
“Yeah, I’ll be using daggers and knives now.” Clark said.
“Hey Erwin, what level are you now?” Raph asked.
“I’m level 24 now.” Erwin said.
“Alright, you take out all of the stragglers until we get to the big goblin.” Raph said. “Hopefully that will get you your second by the time we get there.”
“Alright, thanks.” Erwin was surprised by how much they were helping him.
The trio kept moving down the cave system with Erwin taking out the goblins on the way. Just as they reached the point where they found Erwin last time, he reached level 25 and got his second class.
“Can I ask?” Raph said.
Erwin shifted nervously. “I uhh. I got: Knight Bachelor.” he said.
“Knight Bachelor? Don’t people usually just get a Knight class, or guard and work up?” Raph asked.
“Usually yes, but I come from a family of knights and this is how we do things to get to Knight quicker.” Erwin explained.
“Right, that’s pretty cool I guess.” Raph said. “So are we doing this?”
“Yeah boss lets go,” said Clark, Erwin nodded.
Making the way into the next cavern there was once again a large group of goblins, around 200 or so.There was some sort of village erected in the centre of the cavern, where most of the goblins congregated. Right at the back of the cavern was a large goblin, it was taller than even Erwin and carried some sort of staff. Raph focused on the target.
Goblin Chief -- Earth Mage Lv.56
‘Ookaayy. That’s a doozy.’ Rapht thought as he looked at the hulking figure of the goblin chief.
“Well the bad news is that thing has a class. Which wasn’t mentioned in the guide I read about this place.” Raph said quietly.
“I didn’t know that monsters could get classes.” Clark said.
“The more intelligent ones have a chance to get one when they reach level 50.” Raph added.
“Huh, didn’t know that. Thanks boss.” Clark said.
“Ok, how do you want to play this?” Raph said.
“My father says a true knight should directly face whatever comes their way.” Erwin said proudly.
“Yeah. That’s great and all, but I don’t fancy dying today with those tactics.” Raph replied.
“Right Clark, same plan as last time. Dominate one of the bigger ones and cause as much trouble as possible.” Raph said again.
“Gotcha.” said Clark, and Erwin nodded in approval.
With the plan in motion they set off, Raph and Erwin moved to the sides ready to start their attack. Clark found a level 28 goblin that was on the larger side and dominated it, then used it to cause as much damage as possible by attacking other goblins. As chaos ensued Raph and Erwin attacked, Raph with his hammers and Erwin striking out with his sword. The goblins were going down quickly with even Clark joining in using his new class to get some kills. Raph activated Forged Hammers, when he did both heads of the hammers began to glow like they were heating up. With Forged Hammers active he was charring the skin of every goblin he hit, sometimes setting them ablaze from the heat. Raph kept using Forceful as much as his stamina allowed until the large group was down to about 20 or so.
