“I've got him!” shouted Arthur Sturm, a young intelligence officer in the FOG, the Federation of Secret Investigation for the Outer Galaxies. The Secret Investigation was so secret that unless you worked for FOG you didn't know it was part of the acronym. Everyone else thought they were weather forecasters.

This had actually made it very difficult for Arthur when his friends asked him what he did. “Erm... a bit of this and that. Looking for things in the sky.. you know?!” He'd not lived in Timerea for very long and he was trying to make friends without looking like an idiot.

Technically, his uncomfortable lie was true, as much of his first few months had been spent hacking into enemy satellites, monitoring alien spacecraft or controlling the Outer Galaxies own surveillance robots and systems. This was another typical assignment, although the importance of it far outshone any other he had completed so far.

It's not often you are asked to find out who had hacked into and switched off the entire of the Outer Galaxies' defence system, thus starting the biggest war that the universe had ever seen.

Arthur knew his finding would go down favourably. He might even get a pay rise.

“He's in Schmingleton, on the Moon of Everlasting Lightning!”

Waving his hands around in the air to navigate through the screens of his computer, Arthur brought up the location on the large projection in front of all his colleagues.

“And here he is, our culprit...” There was a split second of tension and quiet, as everyone stared, waiting for the name of the most wanted man in the universe.

“Jake Spencer.” A portrait of a pale and uninspired slob appeared on the screen, and a murmuring of “really?”, “he doesn't look capable,” and “what a drip” travelled around the team.

“Whatever,” said Arthur’s boss, Eric. “Let's go and get him.”
