《A Time for Leisure》Chapter 7: The Monster Hunts

While Caz was shocked, the audience went into a meltdown. Their jaws touched the floor as they stared at the two in the arena.
Earlier when the sword flew out of her hands, the spectators were slightly shocked. The princess was in the early Foundation Establishment stage after all, so if one wanted to deflect an attack like that, they'd either have to have a higher cultivation or some kind of defensive treasure.
The treasure route was a no-go. All of the people who decide to take the exam are thoroughly searched to make sure they don't have an unfair advantage. The higher cultivation route was about the same. A cultivator will leave some excess aura around them that depicts what stage they are in.
The young man, Caz, had no aura whatsoever. They had assumed that he was a mortal.
While you might think that it is unfair for a mortal to fight someone with a cultivation base, the sect didn't care. This rule, while very brutal, teaches their disciples that the world is a vicious place that waits for no man.
That said, they would have easily accepted Caz if he had even lasted a second against her. Any mortal that can even stand in a cultivators aura is deemed worthy to Flying Mountain.
While they were still trying to figure out how Caz had deflected the attack like that, they were in disbelief as he held the princess in the air by her throat. None of the elders watching the tournament had even noticed Caz move before the girl was in his hand.
They were about to put an end to it before things got worse. Even though they were a very powerful sect, they still didn't want to offend the Kingdom. The Patriarch of the Flying Mountain Sect was very good friends with the current King of Cou. If the kings youngest daughter were to be injured or even killed, they couldn't imagine how angered the Patriarch would be. He had considered the princess to be his granddaughter since she was born. Some say he even doted on her a bit too much.
They saw the man quickly put her down and pat her head. They didn't even think about if this was an attack as the man had a worried look latched onto his childish face.
All of them saw the look of despair on the princess' face disappear as it if were never there and be replaced by a look of pure bliss as she even quietly moaned in satisfaction.
Some of the elders saw this and were visibly shocked. They could see small strands of Qi making their way through her body as they healed any type of damage, mental or physical.
The personal handmaiden of the princess was about to intervene when the princess had started laughing. Seeing the princess laugh so genuinely had shocked the handmaiden. She could count on one hand about the number of times the princess had laughed.
The handmaiden had a small smile on her face before it froze over.
"I've decided that you'll become mine."

This small sentence had made several people suddenly faint. Some of the older ones had their hands over their heart as they started breathing heavily.
Going back to the present, Caz was shocked for a second. "Wh- Become yours? Why would I become your property?" He asked with a stupid expression.
"My property? I meant to become my frie- Actually yeah, become my property. *ehehe, once you're mine, our time together will increase*" She had muttered something under her breath at the end.
Unfortunately for her, Caz had the hearing of a God, quite literally. He had visibly paled at the amount of obsession in the young girl's eyes.
"O-oh. I see, h-haha. I don't think I can do that at the moment. I want to put my full attention to cultivating in the sect." Caz bullshitted with a straight face.
"That's fine since I'm joining the sect as well, we'll be near each other 24/7, isn't that great?" The princess didn't care for his excuse. In her mind, there was nothing Caz could do to escape. Her creepy smile had appeared again.
"Haha, y-yeah, that's great. By becoming your property, do you mean a servant?" Caz questioned warily, he had no experience with this type of girl.
"Servant is fine too, you're making really good points today. I'll ask daddy to open a slot for you to be my personal servant as well. Even better!" The princess was slightly blushing and heavy breathing as she recalled the gentle face he had when he was healing her.
"Hehe, while the offer is 'very' attractive, I'll have to decline," Caz replied with a dry expression. While any sane man would instantly agree to become a servant to a beautiful woman who had long white legs, a very curvy but small body with long blonde hair coupled with small cherry lips and a pair of white eyes that could make any kneel in pleasure, he wasn't that type of sane man.
Well, it can't be said that he wasn't fully okay with declining. He was quite tempted to accept, in all honesty. The girl was absolutely adorable, it was just a shame that she had this insane aura around her. The look in her little white eyes that were filled with obsession scared the shit out of Caz.
"You decline? Huhuhuhu, why would you do that? Be a good boy and come here." The princess tilted her head cutely, well it would be cute if her face didn't have that manic smile. To a bystander, this smile would be enough to make their heart flutter. It made Caz's heart flutter as well, but not in the same way.
It was as if Caz was a small pig waiting to be slaughtered by a magical beast.
"YesIrefusehaveagooddayprincess" Caz quickly said then dashed off to get finish the exam. Running towards the elder who was still dumbfounded, Caz grabbed his sect uniform and badge and ran towards the Sect with the speed of a thousand men.
The audience was only now waking up from their daze as they started laughing. It seems the princess had met someone she liked. They felt that the young boy had too much luck. If Caz could read their inner thoughts, he'd beat the daylights out of them. Why don't you come down here and take my place? My body doesn't feel safe around this girl!

Making his way towards the sect, he was stopped by the guards outside. "Show us your badge!"
When he felt like he was at a safe distance from that 'monster', he stopped and had a sigh of relief. Caz walked up to the guard that shouted at him and took the badge out of his pocket.
Now that Caz could get a look at it, in the middle of the badge, a mountain was engraved. 'How unoriginal', he thought.
The guard nodded his head and told Caz where to go. The guard had noticed that Caz was most likely an eager new disciple by how fast he was running. He was reminded of his earlier days and shook his head with a bitter laugh.
The guard gave Caz a slap on the back and told him to follow the road to meet the elder that looked over the new disciples. Quickly thanking the guard, Caz walked on the path.
Caz was taking in the scenery for a few minutes before he met the elder that the guard was talking about.
A middle-aged man with white hair, it seemed the man was older than what his appearance showed.
"Only one this time?" The elder asked Caz with a dumb look.
"Oh sorry, I was just too 'eager' to get here so I ran off after I got my badge," Caz answered with a sheepish grin.
"Haha, it's fine lad. It should take a few minutes for the others to get here, then. I'll take you to your residence. If you didn't know, all new disciples get their own residence. It's more like a large hotel, actually. You happen to have a large amount of luck, as your room is on the first floor." The elder laughed as they continued to walk.
"First floor? How many floors are there in total?" (Caz)
"Oh, I forgot to explain. Sorry, lad. It seems my age is catching up with me. There are only 4 floors in each residence. While this may not seem like enough to hold all of the new disciples, it's actually more than enough. Each room is very large with enough room to even practice in. The housing we're going towards now is for the newer disciples. Each rank of disciple has their own residence according to that rank. The inner sect disciples have a much bigger residence compared to the outer ones. Lastly is the core disciples, they live near the top of the mountain, alongside the elders. There are only a few core disciples, so they do not take up much space." The elder explained with a small smile on his face. "I see that you have an inner sect badge, not bad for a newbie, hahaha!"
"Inner sect badge? There are different badges?" Caz asked with a curious tone. As Caz had never really entered a sect, this was all a new experience for him.
"Yes, the outer sect badge has 1 mark on it, the inner has 2, and core disciples have 3. Each rank has their own set of authorities and responsibilities. Outer disciples have a small amount of authority and not many responsibilities. Inner disciples have much more authority with around the same amount of responsibilities as outer sect disciples. Core disciples have insane amounts of authority, almost reaching an elders level, and they have little to no responsibility".
"Hmm, I see. I'll have to trouble you for other questions some other time, gramps." Caz said while he digesting the knowledge.
"Ahaha, good kid. We're here." The elder pointed to the large building in front of them. While it wasn't anything extravagant, it was the fanciest thing Caz had seen so far in the Mortal Realm.
Walking inside, the elder asked the one managing the house to give him the key to room 16. "Here ya go lad, it's just right down the hall. Have a good rest, come back soon if ya need anything, haha." The elder handed Caz the key and walked through the front door.
Caz walked down the hall and quickly found his room, it was one of the first ones. Unlocking the door, Caz quickly walked in and shut the door. the room had most of the things a person would need. It even had 2 couches that were very soft and bouncy. While the sect had strictly encouraged their disciples to never be lazy when it came to cultivation, they wanted them to at least have a comfortable place to relax. Even someone at the later stages of cultivation would have to relax every now and then, lest they wanted to enter a stressful form of Cultivation Deviation.
Slumping down onto the couch with a lazy expression, he closed his eyes, or at least he wanted to. He had almost closed them when a knock at the door suddenly woke him out of his daze.
Annoyingly, the lazy young master jumped off of the couch and walked towards the door. When he opened it, he wished that he would have just ignored it.
Outside of his room, the princess was standing there with her trademark creepy smile.
"Now that we have met each other once more, allow me to introduce myself. I am the youngest princess of Cou Kingdom, Amelia Cou," Amelia bowed as she finished her introduction. "Now, why did you run away from me, Caz?" She stood up again and looked directly into his eyes, trying to pierce his soul.
"Hello Amelia, it's nice to see you again," Caz said. This would have been a normal way to continue the conversation if Caz didn't quickly close the door as he said this.
*BAM* *shnk*
He didn't forget to lock the door as he shut it.

Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.
