By morning, Ye Ai Xia had finished her practice. She noticed that Ye Jiao had woken up, so she quickly returned back home.

“Good morning, Mom,” Ye Jiao smiled brightly.

“Good morning, Sweetheart. How’s your sleep last night?”

Ye Jiao snuggled in her mother’s embrace. It was so warm. “I sleep deeply, Mom. There didn’t seem to be anything that bother me during my sleep at all. Also, it feels as if this place has become warmer, Mom.”

“Warmer?” Ye Ai Xia was perplexed. There was nothing different in this place than before.

Ye Jiao nodded her head. Her eyes scanned the surrounding. “There are much more Eon Energy around here than before.”

Ye Ai Xia recalled the garden behind the residence. She had planted much more flowers and other plants there. As plants could provide much more Eon Energy rather than cities, it made the concentration of Eon Energy in this place thicker than before.

However, she clearly didn’t feel the Eon Energy to be warm. At most, it would make her feel comfortable.

“Eon Energy makes you feel warm?”

“Yes,” Ye Jiao nodded her head. “It’s warm and so comfortable.”

Ye Ai Xia looked at her daughter with suspicion. She walked to the kitchen and beckoned for the young girl to follow after her. Ye Jiao followed after her mother curiously and saw that her mother was standing right beside the stove.

With slight movement, Ye Ai Xia started the fire. “Jiao’er, come over here and stay near the fire.”

Ye Jiao looked at her mother with confusion. It was not winter and even in winter, their place didn’t have snow because the four kingdoms were located at the south area. Except for the slightly lower temperature, there was not much chance during winter than now.

She stood before the stove obediently as her eyes looked at the fire curiously. There were a lot of Eon Energy around the fire, which she slowly absorbed into her body. Rather than scorching hot, all she felt was that the Eon Energy was slightly hotter than the usual warmth she felt.

“It’s a bit hotter.”

“…Compared to the one you used to absorb?”

Ye Jiao nodded her head. “Yes.”

Ye Ai Xia frowned. If it was not fire, then what? As she was pondering, she noticed that the servants have come to deliver the food to them.

“I’ll take the food. You stay here and practice, Jiao’er.”

“Yes, Mom,” Ye Jiao sat near the stove and started to practice. She could distinctively sense that there seemed to be two different feeling from the Eon Energy she absorbed that day. Even though it was not too clear, she knew that it must be there.

Ye Ai Xia walked out of the house and saw two servants walked with a basket in their hand. Her brows knitted when she saw the size of the basket. It had grown smaller.

“Here’s your share today,” one of them said sarcastically.

As they turned around to leave, Ye Ai Xia looked below the small blanket. Her blood boiled in rage when she saw the content.

“Hold it right there!”

“What? We have….”

The two servants were about to disregard Ye Ai Xia when they sensed immense pressure coming towards them. The two of them were Eon Energy Master rank 1 because Wei Shang would only accept servant who had Eon Energy power. However, the two of them were unable to move under the pressure that Ye Ai Xia emitted.

“Who told you to cut off the food to my residence?” Ye Ai Xia asked with a loud voice filled with coldness.

The two servants were terrified when they sensed the immense pressure. They could feel their bones cracking because of the power this woman emitted. All these times, they treated her without care because Ye Ai Xia didn’t really have any power here, but this time it seemed that this woman had grown angry.

“Answer!” Ye Ai Xia yelled.

“It’s master!”

Ye Ai Xia arched her eyebrows. “Oh, Wei Shang you say? Are you sure that you’re telling me the truth?”

“Yes!” the two of them answered in unison.

Seeing their action, Ye Ai Xia snorted. She moved closer before using her Eon Energy to bind the two of them. “In that case, let’s pay a visit to that man.”

The two servants’ faces were pale in fear. However, they were unable to do anything as Ye Ai Xia dashed through the small forest straight to Wei Shang’s residence. The guards that watched over her were unable to catch up as she reached the residence faster than any of them.

“Wei Shang, you better give me explanation,” Ye Ai Xia kicked the door open. There was no trace of her usual gentle and soft manner.

Inside the room, Wei Shang was sitting on his chair with an annoyed expression. He is a rank 4, so he could sense that Ye Ai Xia had come to his direction. His guards were too slow in response, despite the fact that Ye Ai Xia came here while bringing two servants with her.

“What is it?” Wei Shang asked.

Ye Ai Xia crossed her arm. “They’re giving me less food than usual today. Tell me, do you want to starve me to death?”

“If I want you to die, I’ll kill you right here and right now.”

“Oh? Can you do it? She instructs you to keep me alive, doesn't she?” Ye Ai Xia asked in unbridled manner.

Wei Shang frowned. Recalling his promise to that woman, he knew that he had to keep Ye Ai Xia alive in his residence as a little prisoner.

“What do you want?”

“I just want enough food and not this trash,” Ye Ai Xia pointed to the basket that she had placed on the floor.

Seeing how the basket looked well, Wei Shang could guess that Ye Ai Xia had grown stronger again. Even though there was a barrier that this girl would never be able to pass, this girl has become too much of a hassle to him.

“What if I say no?”

Wei Shang’s expression sunk. He knew very well that he could defeat Ye Ai Xia with his current power, but if she ran to their nest in the forest, he would be the one courting death. In their nest, there was rank 4 or even rank 5 beasts. If he tried to go there, he would die without any doubts.

However, going to the beast’s nest was a bet for the two of them. If not cornered, Ye Ai Xia would never want to pick that option, but if she was forced to do it, she would do it.

The two of them stayed still in their place, locked in a stalemate.
