《Path of the Lilies》66. Out of Capital City

Bang!
Chen Tian smashed his hand to the wall in front of him with rage. The single fact that Ye Ai Xia managed to make them harm the little girl ‘unintentionally’ made him terribly angry.
“Your Majesty,” Wei Shang knew that he had signed the contract too, but his punishment wouldn’t be as bad as this man.
Chen Tian shot a glare to the general. “This is all your fault! If you hadn’t tried to obtain that sl*t because of your lust, this would have never happened. A contract of bloodline. I was really foolish to sign that contract back then.”
As Chen Tian was cursing out loudly here and there, Wei Shang didn’t reply. He still remembered very much the time when they cornered the couple. It was easy to defeat the two of them because both Wei Shang and Chen Tian were stronger. But they couldn’t get away unscathed.
In that heavy battle, the only option available for them was to give in and compromise. The two sides reached a conclusion and signed a contract that would bind them for the rest of their lives.
Now, the contract was broken. Nothing tied up both Ye Ai Xi and Ye Jiao anymore.
“A true diamond will maintain its shine even though it’s under heavy pressure,” Wei Shang muttered.
Chen Tian glared at Wei Shang. “What are you saying?”
“It’s just a phrase that my master loved to say before.” Wei Shang coughed. “Now, let’s find a way to cure the repercussions.”
“There’s no such thing you dumbass! You want to repair it? Say that to your children that you put on the stake!” Chen Tian yelled angrily. He rubbed his forehead in annoyance. It was clear that Ye Ai Xia used this chance to make sure that they paid the price.

Wei Shang didn’t retort. “Since we’ve broken the contract first, Ye Ai Xia won’t have any trouble leaving the city anymore.”
“I know,” Chen Tian replied. With speed as Ye Ai Xia’s specialization and the fact that the girl obtained wind specialization, he knew that it was close to impossible for them to chase after Ye Ai Xia anymore.
He gnashed his teeth in anger. “Next time I see someone with surname ‘Ye,’ I’ll skin them alive and send them to be beasts’ food!”
While Chen Tian roared here and there in anger, Wei Shang turned his attention back to his residence. He could see Wei Cheng helped Su Lian and the woman was crying loudly. Wei Mi was also with them, bawling her eyes out. Some other concubines died while the others could barely survive. His children were all save, but they looked shocked.
Wei Shang didn’t really want to let Ye Ai Xia go, but if he didn’t have any other choice, he would stop pursuing that woman.
‘Well, at least, this will show my children how harsh the real world for Eon Energy Master is.’
He waited patiently for Chen Tian to finish the latter’s rambling as he scanned the surroundings. He would need to work harder if he wanted to rebuild his house. At least, a few months would be needed.
‘Sigh…’
As for the consequences on his end? He would never tell it to his children and let them be in the dark forever.
….
While Chen Tian and Wei Shang were angry, Ye Ai Xia used the chance to run far away from the capital city. As the soldiers were stationed at their posts, Ye Ai Xia used a place without many guards to escape out of the city. Using her wind element, it was easy for her to fly through the air.

“Mom, you’re really amazing!” Ye Jiao exclaimed excitedly as the two of them entered the forest.
Ye Ai Xia smiled slightly. Her face had turned pale as she had overexerted herself in the battle she had just now. Normal people who had just recently advanced to rank 4 would need a long time to stabilize themselves. Massive amount of Eon Energy would be needed if they wanted to survive.
It was a completely new realm, not something one could just easily use.
“Jiao’er, is there any other house aside from the one near the gate?” Ye Ai Xia asked, her voice was slightly softer.
Ye Jiao nodded her head. “There’s another one. Dad made it when we went hunting in the past to make the journey shorter. It’s a small hut but located in a secluded place to make it safe from the beasts.”
“Can you take us there?”
“Yes! It’s not far from here, Mom!”
Ye Ai Xia followed after Ye Jiao as the two of them entered the forest deeper. She had taken the two of them away from the city, which was now located quite far behind them. However, there was no telling how many soldiers Chen Tian and Wei Shang would send to chase after them.
They might not feel satisfied with only letting her go.
“Mom, what’s blood contract?” Ye Jiao asked as she walked into the forest.
“It’s a very serious contract that you can only use when it’s really important. Basically, you use your own blood for the contract to seal it. Once you have signed the contract, you will never be able to break it forever,” Ye Ai Xia explained.
Ye Jiao made an ‘oh’ mouth. “Then mom, what’s the contract that you make with General Wei?”
The contract she made?
Ye Ai Xia smiled wryly. It was a contract that stated that she would not leave the city by more than two kilometers while they kept their hands off of Ye Jiao. If either one of them broke it, their offspring would be cursed forever and whoever broke the contract first would make it nullify for the other party.
She had purposely made the two of them brake the contract in order to allow her escape more than two kilometers away from the capital city.
“It’s nothing, Jiao’er.”
“Mhm,” Ye Jiao looked at her mother with furrowed brows. She decided not to think too much as she moved her attention back to the road. Her eyes recognized the trees around them before she stopped near one of them and pointed to the front.
“It’s over there, Mom. The hut that Dad makes is there!”
Even without Ye Jiao telling her, Ye Ai Xia could see the hut from her position. With her sharper sense, she could see the small hut that Ye Xiao had built before. The location was protected by trees and rocky areas, making it perfect for a small hideout.
“Xiao Ge…”
“Mom?” Ye Jiao noticed that her mother didn’t move at all. She was staring at the direction of the hut as tears started to fall down. “Are you alright, Mom?”
“It’s nothing, Jiao’er. Let’s go there…”
