《An Indomitable's Odyssey》Chapter - 7

It was 5 in the morning, but Ferinhal City Airport was as busy as ever. Being a capital city, it had the highest number of arrivals and departure flights per day in the entire kingdom. From morning till night the crowd never diminished.
Apart from travel between cities inside kingdom, a huge percentage were flights connecting to other kingdoms as well. Even though teleportation portals had been set up, they were only available in capital cities and were very expensive. Due to this the airline business was a very stable and successful business.
All cities in the kingdoms were connected by highways but the distances between them were so long that it was impractical to take the road to travel to another city, unless one had a lot of time. Besides many roads were near forests containing various spirit beasts and hence, were also not the safest option.
Ferinhal city was located in the heart of the kingdom of Astia. It was the largest city spanning an area of around a 1000km in radius. The city was filled with skyscrapers, and various official buildings were also located here. The royal family also lived in this city.
The city was divided in 4 sectors. The 1st sector was known as the Kings Domain. Here the kings castle and various official buildings belonging to individuals of the Imperial court were situated.
The 2nd sector known as the Martial sector only had 1 martial school which was also the kingdom's number one martial school- Sky Blaze Martial Academy. It occupied a huge area and the entire sector was often called the Sky Blaze sector as it belonged to the school itself. One can imagine the importance of such a martial academy in the kingdom which alone occupied an entire sect to its name.
The third sector was the Commerce sector. Here various work offices relating to various businesses such as FMCG, IT etc were situated.
The fourth sector was the residential sector. It was also the largest sector in the city as it housed all the citizens of the city. Apart from just residences various clubs for entertainment, theme parks, hotels etc were also situated in this area.

The Walters left for the residential sector in a taxi. Tomorrow was the day of the examination. The application process was simple and could be done online from home itself. All one had to do was appear at the gates tomorrow before the examination started.
The Walters reached a hotel and checked in for the day. They had booked only one room not because of financial constraints as they could easily afford another but because the parents wanted to be with their son.
Marriane had requested her husband to let James sleep with them in the night. She knew that after today her baby won't be a baby anymore and she wouldn't be able to spoil him in the same way as before.
James sat on the bed, in front of him lay various brochures about the academy. He had flipped through them gathering as much information as he could and had even checked online for information about the various facilities it offered and the examination process.
The information he was able to gather was that the school encompassed an area of a radius of a 100km! It was as big as Bursberg city! The Academy even possessed it's own teleportation portal albeit of a lower range of a 1000km.
The academy had various facilities such as training rooms, Battle Arena, Grand Library and their dorms had a high class look to it as well. The place from the pictures he saw looked nothing less than a heaven for martial cultivators!
The academy also boasted of 13 students who went on to become Sage realm experts later in their lives! The headmaster himself was a sage realm expert. The academy's name and reputation was well earned by it and it had deep roots in the cultivation world as it was over 20 thousand years old!
If selected the student will go through a 5 year training in the academy after which he will have to graduate. The academy has a track record of 100% in producing Emerald stage students. Some geniuses even attain mid Emerald stage in these 5 years in the academy!
On the topic of the entrance exam he gathered that each year the examination process could be different. The exam was held in a virtual space and nobody could tell what the exam would be. Looking at the available information made James pretty excited and made him yearn even more to join the Academy.

Of course the fee to attend this academy was also very high even though it being highly subsidised by the royal family, but through exceptional performance in the test, one could also obtain scholarships.
"James dear come let's go for dinner" called his mother.
"Coming Ma" replied James. All this time in researching he didn't realise the time spent until now. He quickly closed the tabs online and kept the brochures in a proper stack and left for dinner with his parents.
They ate in the hotel's restaurant itself.
"James my son I want you to remember that apart from cultivating do have some fun, make some friends or even a girlfriend! " said his father which caused an awkward expression by James.
" Don't tease him! My poor baby must be tensed right now. "
" I am fine Ma" replied James giving a smile.
" it was just a joke nothing else, nothing else. But James remember one thing in your life. No matter who you become or what you do we will always be there to support you. In your journey you will meet various kinds of people some good, some bad, but in the end it's whether you are good or bad is what matters. "
" And always be humble, never be arrogant! Arrogance can often rub others in the wrong way creating unnecessary enemies specially in the cultivation world where many are ego centric people."
" You must also always remember to cherish your relationships whether friends, family or a lover. Never leave them no matter how high you reach in your life because they are the ones who have been a part of your journey and have helped you in your rise. " said his father with a serious tone.
" Yes father I will remember your words and abide by them " said James with veneration in his eyes.
Edward had good talent and had served in the army. Even though living in rough conditions and facing life and death situations everyday he had always kept a kind appearance. He had always been helpful and everybody who knew him only had praises.
He has been a very loving father and husband. He sadly could not continue his martial journey due to an injury he received while protecting the kingdom's borders against foreign forces. James had just been born that time and his injury stopped his cultivation advances.
He chose to leave the army and return back home as he did not want a son to live without a father or to widow a young wife. It took almost 8 years for his injury to heal but by then he had lost the fervor which he possessed before due to spending days with his family in bliss.
James knew about his father, he had once asked about it around last year and had been shocked upon hearing his father's story. It was due to his father's nature that James also picked up on his values and beliefs.
The family rested for the night with James lying in close embrace with his mother. Marriane cried as her son slept. She ruffled his hair and looked at his face again and again. On the other side Edward lay his hand on his wife's shoulder comforting her.
As the night faded away, dawn crept in and a new day began. A day which would change James's life forever.

I see some reviews of novels which have just started like 2-3 chapters. I don't know if that is done to promote it by alt accounts or something else but I'd request the readers to read and comment below the chapters to state their views and review the novel after like 15-20 chapters have gone by I guess.
