As her lungs emptied, and her head filled with anxious thoughts, she fell back onto the bed, but there was no bed to catch her. Akira kept falling and falling, as the light she once saw got further and further, and she descended into the darkness below her. Akira fell until there was no light, and she couldn’t tell if she was even falling anymore.
“Is this the afterlife!?”
“Not quite.”
Akira’s body layed in what felt to be cold water, and leaning over her, stood a robed figure. The figure removed the hood of his robe, revealing an attractive man, with long blonde hair. His eyes were blue, and his features were sharp, like he had been chiseled from stone.
“Welcome to the Domain.”
“What is this?”
“Well you see, you are special. Your heart accelerated to the point where you could probably get shot and keep going, but then it stopped.”
“Oh yeah, the murders.”
“Ah yes, those people. You have a job to fulfill. You must go back and stop whatever caused this.”
“Why me? Why do I have to do it? And what do you mean, “Go back”?”
“It’s a long explanation, but basically, you have a power, given to you by me, and if whatever did those horrid things to your companions were to keep existing, you would be in danger, and so would I.”
The man gave a long sigh.
“And so, I can send you back to before it happened, and you can fix it, so that we don’t die later. And don’t think I can do this again, it’s already hard enough to send you back this time, so don’t mess this up.”
The man started walking away from Akira’a body, and reached into the pool, pulling out a large staff.

“Wait, before I go!”
“Yes, what is it?!”
“What do you mean powers, and why am I responsible for this?!”
“Have you not noticed how you excel in most things. You are above everyone else. You are stronger, and smarter. The only reason you have this power is due to your heritage. Your family line has always been given powers by my family. I am simply the one who gives you your powers.”
“And what if I don’t want to do this?”
“You don’t get a choice.”
The man pointed the staff towards Akira, and Akira blacked out.
