Chapter Seven
Rinnegan wielders were able to see the flow of chakra inside one’s body.
And right now Neville could clearly see chakra pathways in Anna’s body where chakra was being channelled. He could even see some chakra points.
What the heck was going on?
This world has chakra too?
But Anna just told me that the people of this world used an energy called mana around here so how....?
Then it hit him.
Of course! This world has chakra too but the people here had probably given it a different name!
This was the speculation that Neville had come up with and he was quite sure he was right.
But how did this world have chakra?
Don’t tell me....
“Sir Neville what’s wrong?” Anna suddenly asked when Neville kept staring at her.
Neville broke out of his current thoughts. “Oh, it’s nothing.”
After that they both talked about various things for some time. Then Anna left him to rest and told him that dinner would be ready in a few hours. Neville truly felt grateful to this beauty for her kindness.
When Neville was all alone, he began to carefully process everything that had happened in his mind.
He had been transported to this world and had somehow obtained the Rinnegan. Then he had met a powerful Tailed Beast level creature and fought against it. And now he also realised that the people of this world possessed chakra too.
Now that he knew all this, he wondered what he could do next.
“First I will learn more about this world from Anna. Then I will decide my plans for the future.” Neville thought.
Later Anna came back holding a wooden tray containing food and water.
“Dinner time!” she said sweetly.
“Thank you very much!” Neville wondered if he would like this world’s food.

Surprisingly it turned out to be just a simple bread and soup meal. It did not taste any different from the food of his world.
“This is delicious.” Neville said sincerely.
“That’s good to hear.” Anna replied, looking pleased.
After talking with Anna for a while, Neville learned many more things.
Anna’s house was located in a forest called Greenspring which was right next to the town of Ivanore. The town was located near the southern border of the Azure Kingdom, which was the closest place to the Thiessa Kingdom.
Ivanore Town was ruled by a Duke named Gacin. It was a rich and prosperous place.
He also learned that Anna was an herbalist. She would plant various types of rare herbs in her garden and would sell them at the town. This was how she earned a livelihood.
Another piece of information, which particularly made Neville excited was that there were Guilds in the town!
According to Anna, Adventurer Guilds, Mercenary Guilds and Assassin Guilds were established in almost every town and city in the Magic Continent. Adventurers, mercenaries and assassins were risky but profitable professions.
Adventurers had great reputations too although they were paid less than mercenaries and assassins. Mercenaries were seen as people who would do anything for money. Assassins were feared by everyone and they also had the highest pay.
Neville was pleasantly surprised to know of the existence of Guilds in this world. He had always fantasized about becoming one of the three and becoming a well known individual. It seemed as if this fantasy of his was no longer impossible.
As for which of the three he would choose, it was obviously mercenary. The reason was simple: he loved money and wanted lots of it in a short amount of time.
“Anna, how does one become a mercenary here?” Neville inquired.

“It’s very simple. You just go to the Mercenary Guild and register yourself. That’s about it. Sir Neville, don’t tell me you wish to become a mercenary?” Anna had a bewildered expression on his face.
“That’s the plan.”
“But, Sir Neville.” Anna protested. “With your talent, shouldn’t you become an adventurer instead? Although the rewards for an adventurer are less in the beginning, as long as you do well, your reputation will surely spread in the continent. I believe with Sir Neville’s power that you can surely achieve such a feat.”
Neville smiled. “Anna, thank you for your praise. But still I wish to become a mercenary. Also, I never planned to stand out greatly from the beginning.”
He still didn’t know too much about this new world or the powers behind it. Therefore, he had to be careful and lay low for a while.
“I understand, Sir Neville.” Anna said with a smile. “So, what are your plans now? As I have said before, you are welcome to stay here as long as you wish.”
Neville thought for a moment. “Anna, I wish to go and explore the forest outside tomorrow. I think it will help me recover faster if I move around a bit. Is that fine?”
“Of course.” Anna said. “But please do not wander too deep into the forest. Although I do not know the extent of your powers, you are still recovering. It is best to avoid any danger.”
“Don’t worry. I won’t do anything dangerous. I promise.” Neville said.
The two of them talked for a while more before saying goodnight to each other. Neville fell asleep soon after.
Early next morning while Anna was preparing breakfast, Neville was strolling through the woods outside. The trees of Greespring forest were not too tall and not too close each other.
It was the perfect place for Neville’s training.
After walking a bit away from Anna’s house, Neville came to a stop at a place which was not too deep in the forest but still a bit far from Anna’s house.
Since he had the Rinnegan and could use its abilities, he knew that he had chakra inside him and considering the heavy chakra consuming techniques of the Rinnegan, Neville concluded that it was no small amount. Maybe it was not a Tailed Beast level amount but his chakra reserves were definitely above average.
And since he had chakra then this meant he could use jutsus!
Neville was quite delighted when he realised this. What made him even happier was that he had the Rinnegan which was said to be able to master any type of jutsu and shorten the time required to learn it.
With the Rinnegan, he could even master all five Nature Transformations easily.
“I will obtain great power and have a big harem in this world”. Neville smiled as he thought.
Then he brought his hands together.
“Now then which justu should I learn first?”

Author's Note: (This is my first story, and I would be very thankful if grammatical errors were pointed out. I could also take a few suggestions in the comments if you would. This is less a planned production, and more a little project that I'm winging as it goes. I will try and be consistent with at least 2 chapters a week. Also, as I am a completely new author, the number of words per chapter may fluctuate. The minimum will be around 1000 words, while other chapters may be 2000-3000. It will hopefully only get better with time.)
