It had been 1 and a half year since we left Millie and her father for themselves and Kylie and I went to tour the beast continent. Only a few noteworthy things happened.

First I raised my adventurer rank from F to B. There were almost no S rank adventurers and only a few A rank were on the beast continent. So it was obvious how popular and adventurer would be if he raised his rank from F to B in 1 year. We had to do a lot of quests for this but it was worth because the adventurer “Darkness” is really famous now. Some people said he would be a ruthless muscle head. Come on I was 9 years old. I was at least no muscle head.

I disguised myself and always used [black form] when we did a quest. Kylie started calling it [black form]. In short it is when I use the dark mana and my eyes and hair turn black. We went to a lot of different villages and towns and after finishing so much quests we had a lot of money so we helped some of the poorer villages out with a 1 or 2 gold coins. By the way, it’s obvious that all of that was Kylie’s idea.

The second noteworthy thing had something to do with the first. Because of constantly fighting I was able to utilize a lot more of the black mana. Not as much as when I first used it but more than enough to win every fight with ease. I also found out that as long as I would use magic with the element of darkness I would be able to cast them instantly without activation or chanting or something like that.

The third thing is that I am now capable of forging swords on par with George. I had a lot of time and we found some good ores so I forged a lot of weapons. Mostly swords because I was really fond of them. A lot of them ended as failure but after a lot of errors I got pretty good.

The fourth thing was that Kylie told me that she was 12. She is as big as me, looks like a little girl and is seriously 3 years older than me. I felt the taste of defeat.

The last but not least was that I got to know of new magic. Kylie told me a lot of things but that was probably the second most interesting information after her age.

“The magic I am able to use is called [Zero] magic. The more mana I have the stronger would be the spells and magic of enemies I could dispel. Actually it is the race magic of the beastmen and really important because beastmen are physical and bare handed fighter. And if you want to use it, first of all you would have to be a beastmen, or at least a half and second you have to be lucky because you won’t be able to learn it. It is inborn knowledge like breathing or moving. The only other race magic I know at least the name about would be the dragon’s chaos magic and the demon’s summoning magic. I have no idea what the humans or spirits are using because humans won’t share anything and spirits are really hard to find.”

When I got to know that, the first thing I did was logically testing the magic out but it didn’t work. Probably because I wasn’t a beastmen so I left that for later. But I got a lot of new ideas what I could do with magic then. I started to call advanced magic from my mother combination magic and started creating new unknown magic.

With my combination magic I used the fused versions of the basic elements and trained my control with them and after some time, I think it was half a year, I got 4 new kinds of magic.

That was all that happened during that time and after a lot of villages and towns, Kylie wanted to visit a city. It was ok for me because sooner or later I would have wanted to go to one anyways. Another reason I wanted to go to a city was because if you want a B quest or higher you would only find them there. The difficulty was just too high for people from towns.

There was always a problem in the last 1 and a half year. Every time we went to the gate and I showed my adventurer card the guard would cause a commotion so we had to give him gold so he would be quiet. In the end we decided that we would just pay the fee for entering. We had more than enough Gold Coins. And sometimes it would be even cheaper to just buy the fee than to bribe the guard.

As with all the other towns we went to the city gate of the nearest city called Dento city. After entering we asked around and went straight for the adventurer guild branch. The only difference I got to know was that this city was a lot larger than a town and the entrance fee was a lot higher nothing else. It was rather boring.

When we went down the street to get to the adventurer guild I saw beastmen, Halflings, demons and some humans. All races hated each other true, but they wouldn’t want someone with money or strength to leave their territory, they are not that stupid. So other races had only little disadvantages in the beast continent like higher entrance fees or the beastmen would look down on some that looked weaker than them.

We arrived at the guild and the first thing we did was we went for the quest board. As always some dumb adventurers came and asked us if we were at the right place because we were so young. We just ignored them and they got pissed and left the building. Sometimes there would be someone to come after us when we left the town but all they got was an empty pocked as well as some light injuries. As I said before I wouldn’t show much mercy to my enemies.

After a while I didn’t find any interesting quest and neither did Kylie. All of them were only escorting or to beat some random weak monsters like slime for their cores. All boring quests with almost no reward.

We didn’t take any quest and wanted to leave but before we could see the clerk from the guild, this time it was rather bulky tiger beastman, hanging a new quest on the board.

When we read it we both agreed on accepting it. I took it and we went to the counter to ask where the dungeon was located. The tiger beastman was a little sceptical but told us the location of it. Before we left he warned us that a dungeon is no playground for children but we just smiled at him and left.
