《Life of the dark god》Chapter 22 Distraction

I woke up in the next morning. When I asked how the situation looked I got a strange reply.
“Some of the human already entered there.”(Kylie)
She looked in the direction of the mountain. I didn’t understand what she meant so Matt explained it for me.
“They were doing some sort of ritual and summoned a door in front of the mountain and they went in. The remaining humans are staying outside to guard the entrance.”(Matt)
It looked like the 3 of them had already thought of a plan so I listened.
“If you want to know why we haven’t moved yet, we waited for you to wake up and take us inside. It is almost impossible to get passed those humans. A lot of groups already tried but got overpowered at the same time. Only a few of those who tried are alive now and they are locked down there.”(Matt)
They pointed at a circle which was engraved in the ground. Sitting in it, were some beastmen, demons and a human looking race with horns and a tail. They were probably the dragon race. What made me feel down was that nothing present looked like a person from the spirit race, but at least I got to see the dragon race.
“It is a similar magic to the beastmen [zero] magic. Those who are sitting in this big circle aren’t able to move or use any kind of magic. As long as no one touches that circle or all of the mages standing there continue to pour mana into the formation, they will stay locked there until everything is over.”(Matt)
Then Matt started smiling and let Kylie continue with the plan.
“We will go down there. You will act like you found a spy, which will be me by the way, and bring me into the circle. While I tell the prisoners that we are here to free them, you will attack one of the mages and knock him out so that he isn’t able to support the formation anymore. Our goal is to produce a little chaos and slip in unnoticed by the others. In order to achieve it, Matt will storm in and try to dispel the circle if you fail. In the worst case scenario, where you 2 fail, you retreat and free us later. Rose in the meantime will secure us a safe path to reach the door.”(Kylie)

I needed some time to remember everything and to understand the plan. Basically we were saving the prisoners, but our reward would be a distraction to enter whatever the humans entered before. When I had everything memorized, we started.
As we discussed earlier, I was taking Kylie as a prisoner and gave her over to the mages. They were not suspicious at all and threw her into the circle. I felt sympathy for Kylie, because first we made her all dirty so it looked like she had a fight and now she got thrown in a prison where she won’t be able to move much with no kindness at all.
“Good job catching her. Looks like she tried her best to run away but failed even then. Those demi-humans are really good for nothings.”(Magician)
I was really angry at him but didn’t show it on my face as to not grab attention. I just thanked him and walked near the circle slowly.
“What are you doing friend?”(Magician)
“I am just in awe at how strong this formation is. I just want to look at it for a bit is that ok?”(Me)
The mage looked at me, clearly dissatisfied with what I want to do.
“Sure but don’t touch it.”(Magician)
“Why not?”(Me)
“If you touch it or one of the Magicians around here stop providing the formation with mana, the circle will vanish and those prisoners will be able to escape.”(Magician)
After giving me this advice, he turned around. I could see a small opening.
“I would really like to see this circle disappearing, would you mind helping me?”(Me)
“What did you…?”(Magician)
He turned back to face me, but before he could finish his sentence I punched him in his stomach. I hit him with a lot of force and he flew quite the distance, till he hit hard on the floor and lost his consciousness.
Meanwhile, the circle vanished and before the guards and other magicians could come to attack me, they had to deal with their new problem.
“Everything goes according to plan. Let’s meet up with Matt and Rose and follow those humans.”(Kylie)
The people who were guarding the area around the formation stood no chance against all the prisoners. They were scattering in all directions. Every person who would come to this island had a certain amount of strength or a hidden card, so the battlefield was quite the sight.

When we met up with Rose, who found a way in with only few encounters of guards in this mess, we met a certain problem. From within the forest, a big force of demons was storming into the battle. They were probably the reinforcement troops of the demon race.
“Fast, no time.”(Rose)
To her words we were skilfully running towards the open gate while hiding from the sights of the guards who weren’t involved in the battle yet. Some of them noticed us but those were much to less to stop us.
We reached the gate in a matter of a few minutes. Before the gate stood one person alone who hasn’t moved at all. From his stance alone we could tell he is an experienced fighter and won’t let us pass easily.
“Go ahead we have no time I will distract him and will enter afterwards.”(Matt)
“We won’t leave you behind.”(Kylie)
This was said while running towards the gate and preparing for battle.
“Annoying, don’t waste time. Good luck.”(Rose and Me)
When we said that we took Kylie at her arms and dragged her towards the gate while Matt was taking a stance to fight the man. We split and reached the gate. Rose went in with Kylie first. When I turned around to look over the battlefield, about half of everyone present were dead.
“Guess that prediction wasn’t that accurate. A lot of humans died and nothing happened.”(Me)
I said to myself and looked at the battle between Matt and the mysterious man. To my surprise Matt had already lost. It had only been a few seconds since their fight started but when I looked back, Matt’s sword was already destroyed and he was lying on the floor with a lot of injuries.
I couldn’t just stand back and watch him getting killed. Kylie changed my character a lot over the time we travelled together. I ran towards them while activating a [Fireball] to distract him. It was a basic attack and as long as I could get some seconds I would be able to rescue Matt.
The man didn’t even move, he just swung his sword and my [Fireball] was cut in half. After that he focused on me and attacked me. I didn’t care about my defence at all because first I had the protection of my father’s clothing and second I would be able to form a darkness barrier before he could even reach me.
He noticed my intentions of saving Matt so before attacking me he turned around and wanted to finish him off, before I could do so. The only problem for him though was, that he picked the wrong opponent. When he turned his back to me I took a sword out of my white space, used a lot of the dark mana to support my attack and swung at his back.
The man decided to dodge to the side and give up on attacking Matt for now. I used this split second to reach my teammate and put him on my back to carry him. When I looked back at the man, a swing mark was next to at the ground. Guess I put too much force in it. I didn’t mind him and his still frozen expression. I sprinted to the gate and through Matt in.
Before entering I turned around, only to see the man still standing where he was. I wanted to scare him a bit for now so I gathered some more mana around me and shot a dark mana ball at him. It is practically the same as a normal mana ball except it is a lot of times stronger.
I missed him on purpose and it exploded behind him, destroying some trees and stones. After that I smiled at him turned around and entered the mysterious space.
