The meeting ended with the headmasters warning. Everyone was leaving the building. There was about half of the day left.

“What are we gonna do now?”(Ryo)

“I don’t know what you guys will be doing, but I’ll grab a quest and leave school for a while.”(Takeshi)

No one expected that, so our little group was quite confused.

“Don’t get me wrong guys, it’s not because I don’t like school or something like that. It’s just that there is something I have to do and this is the perfect opportunity to do so.”(Takeshi)

He noticed our concern and answered the question before it was even asked.

“Sigh, but be careful. I know you are going to do something reckless.”(Sakura)

Sakura cared for him the most, so it was only obvious for her to say something like that.

“What about you?”(Takeshi)

The question was definitely directed at me. He wouldn’t look so uninterested otherwise.

“Why do you ask if you don’t care?”(Me)

“To act nice of course. If I didn’t ask perhaps we would have forgotten about you.”(Takeshi)

Straight forward, as always.

“I’ll do some quests with Sylphy.”(Me)

“Huh?”(Sylphy)

It took me a short glance to make her understand, but she covered her mistake with a swift follow.

“Ah. Right, we’ll do quests too.”(Sylphy)

“I envy you guys.”(Haruto)

“What are you talking about man?”(Takeshi)

“Except for Sakura perhaps, we are no geniuses at all and it wouldn’t be good for our grades if we left the school for even a single second.”(Haruto)

We parted our ways. Sakura, Ryo and Haruto went back to class and Takeshi, Sylphy and I went to pick up a quest. When we arrived in front of the quest board, before Takeshi could even look at the quests, I took the 1 which picked my interest before.

“What is this quest about that you are so eager to take it?”(Takeshi)

“Dungeon exploring.”(Me)

I said with a smile.

“Do you also want to tell me where?”(Takeshi)

“No.”(Me)

“Sigh. I thought so.”(Takeshi)

I asked Sylphy to tell the receptionist that we will be taking the quest and that she should wait outside for me, in order to have a talk with Takeshi.

“Will you tell me what you need to do then?”(Me)

“I am sorry, this is a secret.”(Takeshi)

“Can you at least assure me that it isn’t something reckless? I mean I’ll need you in the future you know.”(Me)

“Don’t worry, I am not going to pay the black continent a visit or something like that. I know my limits and that it would be far too stupid to fight the nightmare now.”(Takeshi)

“Sylphy is waiting outside for me. I wish you the best luck in whatever you are going to do.”(Me)

“I too, wish you the best luck in whatever you are planning to do.”(Takeshi)

We parted ways with those last words. It was a depressing feeling, when I thought about leaving this school after the 1st week and leaving behind all the friends I made in that short amount of time, but because of the recent incident, I had to be careful from now on.

Sylphy was waiting for me outside.

“We have to leave the city today.”(Me)

“Huh, what are you talking about, why the stress?”(Sylphy)

“We’ll leave immediately. No time for other farewells now, I have much to do. Moreover, no talking while we are in the city.”(Me)

Was my only reply. When she noticed the change in my expression as well as my behaviour, she seemed to be scared for a second. I took the lead and we headed for the gate as fast as we could. I showed the guard my card and the quest and we headed into the city.

“Don’t wander off, I won’t be waiting for you, nor will I search for you.”(Me)

I only warned her once. Sylphy had no idea what was wrong with me, but she knew that she couldn’t ask that, while we were leaving the city. I made myself clear, that there could be someone trailing and listening to our conversations, so I was sure that she would stay quiet until we leave.

Fortunately, we left the city without any further problems. As soon as we left, Sylphy pulled my sleeve.

“I will tell you soon enough, keep following me for now. We need to a place where no one can hear nor see us.”(Me)

“What?”(Sylphy)

Her horrified face after misunderstanding my meaning was hilarious, but I had other things I needed to focus on.

“Don’t worry, I won’t do anything to you. What I am about to tell you is just that important that it can’t be heard by others.”(Me)

I was able to ease her mind a bit with that. After some walking, we arrived at a forest. It was the perfect location, for sending Sylphy to the black continent. Just to be safe, I checked our surroundings with magic. Not once but twice. After I made sure, no one was near us, I started talking.

“I don’t have much time, so I will have to shorten my explaining a lot.”(Me)

“What is wrong with you all of a sudden?”(Sylphy)

“You know about that nightmare everyone is talking about?”(Me)

“How could I not know about it? What does that have to do with everything?”(Sylphy)

“I don’t care if you believe me or not, but I am that nightmare everyone is talking about.”(Me)

She wanted to say something, probably. Unfortunately, me telling her that shut her up completely and left her with a dead expression.

“I will send you to the black continent now, tell the people there, that Hikaru wants the first person to leave as soon as possible and start with the plan.”(Me)

“Huh? What?”(Sylphy)

I activated the spell.

“Don’t forget about it.”(Me)

I said before she disappeared before me.

“Sigh. Now that that’s taken care of, where should I start searching for those fuckers? I hope I didn’t waste enough time for them to be too far away from where they were last seen.”(Me)

My bad habit of talking to myself showed up again. I was sure that at least 1 out of 8 know a lot about both, the human king as well as the beastmen king, otherwise they wouldn’t have been able to stir up such a huge mess.

If I only knew beforehand that I was completely wrong and it would turn out like that, I probably would have never went to search for them.
