《Life of the dark god》Chapter 35 One vs one

“I have to admit, I totally underestimated your side. I thought as long as I brainwash the allies you painstakingly gathered over the years, you gods would crumble even before we fight. Never did I think someone like you would be on their side.” (Man)
It could have been a compliment, I didn’t know and I actually didn’t care. The stage was prepared for our fight and I was only waiting for chances to engage.
“You are coldblooded and remained calm over everything that happened. Even though your whole preparation was used against you, you were able to secure the best possible outcome. Won’t you come to my side?” (Man)
His speeches were starting to get on my nerves, but I restrained from interrupting him. I used the time he wasted to recover as much as possible.
“I gladly refuse your offer.” (Me)
“Sigh. Even though I hate Primus, I’d love to have his child on my side. Truly unfortunately.” (Man)
“If so, try to brainwash my little sister, perhaps you’ll get some results there.” (Me)
He went silent over my words.
Did I say something wrong?
“Haha. You are a funny one. Only a single person can inherit the power and life force of two gods. The worlds system absolutely makes sure that this balance is kept.” (Man)
When I made a confused expression, he started to get nervous.
“Didn’t your parents tell you about the systems rules? Then what…” (Man)
I was finally back to full strength and with a single leap; I closed the distance of a few metres and with a dark spear, a weapon that I created with magic, I went for his throat.
I tried to get him by surprise, but I failed. He jumped back to a safe distance. Both of us stood still and looked at each other.

“Didn’t your parents teach you to let others…” (Man)
I did the same thing again. I failed again though.
I didn’t let it get to me, but I had to admit that he was extremely fast.
“You talk too much.” (Me)
His jaw dropped in disbelieve and I tried the same attack pattern a third time. My dark spear didn’t even touch him again. I gave up on the thought of a sudden attack and started to go over to a combination of magical and physical attacks.
I wouldn’t say close combat was my weakness, but in terms of experience, I was most confident in my long range battle capabilities and in my endurance. In addition, I had home court advantage. I still had many traps hidden all over the place, which I could use at every given time.
I jumped right and he did the same. I made him think I wanted to escape, so he followed me. As soon as he jumped, I activated another earth spear trap beneath him, which made him dodge backwards, where I prepared an explosion trap.
In the last possible second, he turned around and blocked the impact, but I was already at the other side of the explosion and faced his back. I thrusted my spear at him again.
This time, I managed rip some parts of his hood apart and I even cut off some of his skin this time. Blood was flowing out of his wound and he couldn’t believe what just happened. He looked at his injury and then back at me.
“Ho. I haven’t received an injury in quite some time now. I almost forgot the feeling of pain.” (Man)
I didn’t give a reply. He didn’t wait for one this time either and just continued.
“I see, so we fight for real now.” (Man)

I took this fight serious since the beginning. I don’t know what he thought, but this decided the outcome of a whole world.
In an instant, he closed our distance and a fist was flying at me. I parried with my spear and retreated backwards. He didn’t let me off so easily though. The second I touched the floor, he was in front of me again and the next fist flew at my abdomen.
I blocked it again, but I didn’t see his side kick coming and couldn’t move my body in time. I created a shield of mana and it absorbed the whole impact. It still hit me quite hard and I almost fell to the ground because of it.
The next thing I saw was another kick from beneath me and jumped to my left side to dodge. His attacks were synced perfectly with each other. Everything in our fight happened extremely fast and every reaction was crucial. I got out with minimal damage and created as much space between us as possible.
I turned around, put up my guard again and awaited his next attack, so I could find an opening for a counterattack. Strangely, though, he stopped at where he kicked me.
“Your magic is truly annoying.” (Man)
He took out the white ball once again and started mumbling something. The light shined once again and dispersed a few moments later. I put up my guard to defend if something happened, but same as last time, nothing happened to me.
I knew what happened last time though so I looked around to see, if anything was wrong. I couldn’t find anything abnormal at first, but when I checked my magic, I was astonished, that I wasn’t able to feel any mana.
“Haha. Let’s see what you are going to do without magic.” (Man)
It wasn’t as if he just blocked my magic, but more like he erased the basic existence of magic; mana. I didn’t feel anything. Not in my surroundings and nothing in me. I closed my eyes for a second and tried to focus.
My enemy was extremely sure of his victory. He started to laugh and let me do as I pleased without interfering. This was a fatal mistake.
The moment I closed my eyes, I was relieved, because I made contact with the pitch-black sphere again. As always, it provided me with more than enough mana and I was able to use my ace, my black form.
I knew that I could use all kinds of magic without even having the need to concentrate in this form. There was a little time window between the time I closed my eyes and the moment I went into black form.
I used that single moment to get near him and without the need to chant, prepare or even think about it, I released a strike with tremendous power. He tried to defend, but it was too late. It was a direct hit and he flew backwards against one of the few remaining trees.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to finish him off and shortly after he landed, he stood up again.
“You… What are you?” (Man)

Borne of Desire
A man given a new lease on life finds himself amongst pokemon. From his memories of pokemon as a whole, he assumes the power of pokemon and the world around him runs on convenient fate, rule of cool, and cheesy friendship just like any other anime. Unfortunately for everyone else, he's 100% right. NOTE: If Borne of Caution is an attempt at a coherent and realistic look at pokemon, then, Borne of Desire is the opposite. It's all the mindless indulgence I DONT want in a serious story. It's a very seat-of-my-pants for-fun project and is written with no storyboard. Updates will be inconsistent and quality cannot be assured. Not to be taken too seriously.
