CHAPTER 5 : EVERY THING IS ARCANE(5)

"Ah! we are here" exclaimed Happi with a sad look on his face.

"Hey Happi come on man, cheer on" I cheered him by tapping on his back.

"What cheer on man?!! We have to do Yoga from now on every day!!" Happi screamed. His face almost became pale.

Yes the thing we have to do from now on is to do yoga, do some basic exercises and improve our intelligence by playing mind games and it goes on. It may look enjoyable for people but doing all these things is tiring.

"Hey Happi, I can hear you screaming till the 3rd floor." Jeevan came running towards us.

I doubtfully asked him "Jeevan what's all these yoga and these games and exercise for?"

"Oh that, you can see that Stats window right. In that you can see your strength, intelligence and magic power and some skills. So to increase them we have to do various activities you see." Jeevan explained us.

"So then does everyone have the same starts?" I asked him.

"No no every one has different starts as everyone's strengths and intelligence are different." Jeevan said to me.

"So what would be the average starts for a newbie like me?" I asked him as we walked towards the entry.

"There is nothing like average but if you ask me like that um... then [STRENGTH] would be something like 80/100, [INTELLIGENCE] would be 60/80 and [MANA] would be 40/70, oh and don't forget [LUCK] it would be 30/50 something like that." he said to me thinking deeply about it.

I grabbed my head, what he said does not match my starts at all!!!

[STATS WINDOW] the screen popped in front of me and it says -

[STRENGTH] - 6/10

[INTELLIGENCE] - 4/8

[MANA] - 1/6

[LUCK] - (-6)/4

[SKILL] - (1)UNNAMED

What the hell are my stats. They are not even near to an average Arcaner!!??

"Don't worry if your stats are low because even if your stats are low every one has different limits so if you work hard you can know your maximum stats." Jeevan said to me seeing me worried. I think he understood what I was thinking.

So that's the matter then I have to work hard to increase my starts. But still I know that my luck was low but to be in negative..... What the Hell did I do in my previous life to get this luck!!!!

After we went inside the building there was a meeting held for the newly recruited members. There were nearly 20 members that were newly recruited and here I thought Happi and I were the only newbies.

"So everyone welcome to IAA meaning Indian Arcane Association state branch." Prof.Vigyan entered the meeting hall along with other people.

"Good morning professor." we all wished him.

"So let me get straight to the point, so you all must be thinking that 'this is a company and why are there professors and researchers here?' right." we all nodded at what the Professor said.

Seeing us node the professor continued "This is IAA which does research on Arcaners like you and also we take the responsibility of protecting the people from the [DOORS]."

"Excuse me professor what are these [DOORS] that you mentioned just now?" a lady beside me asked Vigyan lifting her hand.

"Yes, [DOOR] are a kind of dimensional gates that randomly open any time, and from these [DOORS] different types of monsters enter our world." the professor explained.

"Then why didn't we notice these so called [DOORS] any where are they invisible? If there are monsters coming from these then why didn't they attack normal humans and the surroundings the [DOOR] has opened." I asked the professor and everyone started looking at the professor curiously.

"That's a nice question Rishi, so these [DOORS] open only at places where there are no people or where there are very less people, if by chance anyone saw the [DOOR] then we would erase the persons memory." professor explained.

"Then why are these [DOORS] opened at places with less or no people?" I questioned him again.

"Again that's a good question Rishi, so the [DOORS] are cursed to only open at isolated places where there no humans. You may ask how do we know......" Vigyan signed to the other professor beside him. She went near the projector and started showing us pictures as the Prof.Vigyan continued"........So normally there is a certain amount of aura present in everything either it is a plant or a microorganism or a wall or door, but in ancient times people cursed other things for doing evil things. If there is a curse placed on something the things aura would change to Violet color, normally every thing has aura in different colors except voilet so only the cursed ones have a voilet aura. So you can just see the aura of the [DOOR]......"

We all turned towards the screen. On screen they showed us different sizes of [DOORS] and there aura. "I think you can see that the aura of every [DOOR] is different. So let me explain before anyone asks, through research we came to a conclusion that the more powerful monsters are in a [DOOR] the more would be it's curse, that means if the monsters in the [DOOR] are more powerful the [DOOR] would be difficult to find." Prof.Vigyan explained.

"So any questions? " a professor beside me asked.

"Um... how did you find that we possess Arcane in us?" Happi asked her.

"Normally we Arcaners can sense other Arcane near us and normally we would only recruit people with high Arcane power. But this time we have someone with less than average Arcane power." she said looking at me. So everyone knows that I have less power huh? I was just recruited because of Happi.

"Um.. I feel that killing monsters is out of my league so can I leave from here?" someone asked the professor.

"Oh yes you can leave but only after awakening yourself. This is because in case of an emergency in the company we may need help from you." said the professor.

"I have a question, why does anyone outside don't know the existence of Arcane." a tall man sitting beside me asked.

"Yes so yesterday you went home and said to your parents about the arcane right?" the professor asked him and he nodded "and your parents did not believe it right?" the man nodded again.

"So this is simple any one does not believe it and if you try to prove the existence of Arcane to the outer world there would be severe action taken on the person who tried. I think we just mentioned that we can even erase memories of a person so it is not a problem for us." everyone became quite. He indirect told us that the company is keeping an eye on us.

"So everyone the meeting has ended, you all can go outside." shouted the professor.

Then Prof.Vigyan came towards me "Rishi don't get disappoint that you have low arcane power I know that you were recruited because of Mr.Santosh but don't worry about it you can get power by working hard." Vigyan said to me and I nodded at him.

"Oh I forgot to tell you and Happi that tomorrow all the newly recruited members would be going on a trip for 2 days so you both pack your bags and come tomorrow." Prof.Vigyan said to me tapping on my shoulder.

After that I and Happi started walking towards the bus stop. "Maan! I feel like my life has suddenly changed!!!" Happi started shouting. "And tomorrow we are going on a trip?? I feel it some kind of fishy." Happi started complaining.

After getting inside the bus Happi slept the whole way till our bus stop. That's reasonable because what he said was right our life suddenly changed and I also feel that we can never go back to the life we were living.

After getting to the bus stop I woke up Happi. "Maan! lets go and grab a cool dr..... no, no lets go home." Happi wanted to tell something but suddenly his mood went off.

"Hey Happi, get ready for the trip early in the morning don't oversleep." I said to him, as we started walking.

"Rishi I am not still a school kid, you don't have to tell me those things." he said to me waving his hand.

"What really, but last time when we went on a college trip I remember that you forgot your under wear at home, I also remember that you wore the same under wear for four days." I said to him remembering his dark past.

"Yoouu!! don't ever take out that topic again. I literally saw hell at that time. I even forgot my tooth brush where I brushed my teeth with my fingers. I tried to go out of that hotel but the staff were so strict that they did not let me go out even if I gave them a lot of money." Happi started sprouting nonsense, any way now he looks normal and that is what is important.

After some time we parted away and I reached home. "Rishi? why are you back so early? did you resign the new job that you joined yesterday?" my mom started asking me questions seeing me early at home.

"No mom, they said that we have to go on a trip to get used to the new company." I said to her keeping my bag on the table.

I did not tell about the whole Arcane stuff to any one at home. Yesterday I was super tired and I also did not want them to get worried.

"Trip? you are also going on a trip? when will you be leaving?" mom asked me.

"Mom what do you mean you are also going on a trip?" I asked her. Is das going on a trip without me?

"Oh that it's your brother, his exams are compleated so he might be going on a trip with his friends. So when are you leaving." she asked me keeping my bag in my room.

"I will be leaving tomorrow." I said to her.

"What?!! then I would be alone tomorrow?" she shouted in shock.

"So Raj will be leaving tomorrow too huh? then where is he?" I asked my mom.

"Oh he is tired so he must be sleeping in his room." She said and left me keeping a towel on my shoulder. That means I have to take a bath now. Man! coming home early is a pain.

This must be a coincidence there is nothing to worry about. If there is something to worry about then that would be tomorrow's trip.

I started packing my bag. There were not many things just some clothes and some chocolates and I am packed. Now I shall sleep peacefully, I jumped on my messy bed.

Early morning I woke up I came out of house waving my hand to my mom and dad and went near the bus stop. On the way I called Happi, he said he was coming in his car to the company. He said walking early in the morning is too much for him.

After I reached IAA I meat Happi, we were told to get into a bus. After some time every one started coming. Last came the professors.

"So everyone is here right?" Prof.Vigyan asked us and we nooded.

"Then the real story begins now!!" The professor shouted and the bus started moving.

The rel story begins now huh. Lets see what happens.
