Blue Bells Itching powder
Mortal tier recipe. No cultivation requirements
After several test phases I have maximized the amount of itching caused by a single spore. Some may call it excessive payback for a harmless practical joke, I call it justice - Ever-Summoned Demonic God Oskatat as a youth
Ingredients and recipe Blue bells mushroom spores, 10 grams – non magical fungi Virulent poison ivy, 4 leaves – non magical poisonous plant Inflamed mandragora root hairs, 15 grams –natural gathering stage plant
That’s right! The first recipe with a weak magical ingredient!
To preface the recipe, everything here causes intense inflammations and itches when in contact with skin, so either wear gloves or skin protecting sap. This warning is for your own safety.
The blue bell spores are the most dangerous portion of this recipe, since the mushrooms spray them out when buffeted by strong winds. The safest way to harvest these is to pick the mushroom, then cut out the gills to manually scrape out the spores. All of this should be done with protection, if not clear enough by now. It’s in your interest to wear some sort of mask that can block particulates, as a final measure to stop any wayward spores from entering your respiratory system.
The spores must remain hydrated at all times! When dried their primary effect changes into an incredible flammability, even lighting on fire in direct sunlight. The dried spores do have their own use in explosives and fire related drugs, but do more harm than good at this stage. Soaking them in water is unnecessary, but they should be kept in a cool, humid room.
Poison ivy is a commonly seen plant in any forest, and this particular strain is no different. It’s only stand-out feature is its fur-like bristles coating the leaf. Only those with an allergy to the plant are in real danger, but the itching is hellish to say the least.

Next is the virulent poison ivy, processed in a comparable manner to plants before. Grind it to a pulp and press the water out. Remember to not touch it directly, and leave it to dry in sunlight. This may take a few days, but after drying you can grind it further into an ash-like powder. Easily completing the second ingredient.
Please note that some alchemical stores may sell an extract of Virulent poison ivy’s oil, which is what causes its itching property. Rather than the stated volume of leaves, 4 drops of this oil work as a substitute.
Inflamed mandragora is a root vegetable with substantial fire element Qi, especially useful for anyone cultivating fire Qi techniques. Although the fleshy internals may sear a mortal’s hand slightly, the outside instead contains a mild yang poison that inflames and induces itchiness on touch. The root hairs specifically use small prongs to inject it underneath your top layers of skin.
The root favours any location with concentration of fire element Qi, and soft soil as to spread their roots easily. However, growing them in such conditions is far easier than randomly finding one.
Any proper protection once again overcomes this, allowing for easy and quick harvesting of the root. Simply cut off a few hairs and grind them down. Mixing them in the ratio given by the recipe will produce a diabolical itching powder. The effect of each plant creates a chain reaction multiplying the effect far beyond any of the individual components. A result of weeks spent with an itchy inflammation.
Maybe the worst part is how the inflamed mandragora works well to increase skin sensitivity significantly, making each scratch that much more tempting and rewarding.
Usage
Aside from bringing ruin to your worst enemies, or rather your bullies. This powder is rather safe by all accounts, although a person itching at their rash may end up cutting themselves. Also, rather impressively, this powder is effective on cultivators in the natural gathering stage, although they might seek revenge if you don’t have the strength to support yourself.

It can be left on a person’s clothing quite subtly, but please refrain from placing it on underwear. Both men and women will shudder in fear from that day on…
Aside from that, it’s main commercial use is a torture method. The victim is tied with a small section of their body, normally nose, covered in the powder. In minutes the itching begins and they’re left in that hellish state until giving up information. An extremely cruel mental torture, but nothing physically harmful.
Naturally, don’t use it on people with allergies to the ingredients. That’s the exception that can kill a person.
