"Ouch... M-my head.. it hurts!"
The man jolted, with his black eyes opened as wide as saucers. Clearly, startled by the sudden pain. He then surveyed the surrounding with his sharp gaze.
A wood?
"What.. ?! Where the hell is this?"
The primeval forest was otherworldly. Centuries-old trees with sprawling limbs guarded the darkness. Clumpy combs of wet moss dangled from their rotten boughs. Underneath the moss, lethal larkspur peppered the mulchy floor. Oxblood-red toadstools littered the ground. Poisonous cowbane grew next to them. An acrid odour hung off everything. The musty air was difficult to breathe.
It was a teeth-gritting experience.
Once calmed down. He pushed himself to his feet and started examining his body.
He was wearing a golden robe with a sophisticated style. He would have given off a prince-like appearance had it not been for the tattered parts here and there.
"Strange, whose garment is this? I don't remember ever wearing this kind of outfit before 'that' incident." he mused, both hands rummaging around his attire.
It's unknown what 'that' incident he was talking about. But, should a face-reading expert was here at this moment, they would notice a complicated expression was evident on his face -- with mostly showed embarrassment, shame, and awkwardness.
Then, before he could make sense of things, suddenly, a mechanical voice resounded.
[DING!]
[Does the host want to import the original body owner's memories?]
The System's hologram prompt displayed in front of his face.
"Eh? who's talking?" the man frowned upon hearing a strange voice in his mind, then narrowed his eyes at the floating words in front of him.
What is this ? a hologram?
[DING!]
[Replying to the host..]
[The System has acknowledged the host as its master]
.
[Does the host want to import the original body owner's memories?]
[ Yes ] [ No ]
What ?!
The System?
The original body's owner? This.. I'm.. possessing someone's body?
Crazy! Am I dreaming right now?

Ahh, whatever! Let's find out first!

.
Wussh~
He was taken aback. At the same time, a great number of memories, both foreign and familiar, welled up within his mind. These memories were so lifelike that they almost felt as if he had experienced them himself.
[Completed!]
Damn. What happened? so this is really not my.. does that mean..
Crossed over! I’ve really crossed over!
No way I can't believe this.
Casting his gaze to the sky. He began contemplating the newly acquired information.
According to the memories of his predecessor, Roy Ambers, he was a young master from the Ambers family's branch. The main family had been one of the three Great Families in the Garrhant Continent. Given his status as the branch head's son, his standing in the entire Garrhant Continent was easily on par with many young geniuses from those first-rate families, if not more. It was to be expected that many maidens were falling head over heels for him, so much that his family residence was always so lively with the ever-increasing number of cute guests.
Roy was a genius who appeared once in a thousand years!
How so? at the tender age of 4 years old, he had already awakened a Heavenly Spiritual Body Root, possessing a talent on par with the late founder of The Ambers Family, Depth Ambers!
At the age of 7 years old, he had reached Spirit Foundation Realm in cultivation, beating many of his peers, who were mostly still at the Qi Refining Stage or below! To add to that, his comprehension speed is also heaven-defying! He could already mastered a Low-Grade Battle Arts in a span of 1 year time!
One has to know that it was extremely difficult to comprehend a battle arts, even more so for a beginner in the cultivation path. Though vary each technique, the spiritual qi required to execute even the minimal force was enormous. As such, this feat was usually only achievable by those direct descendants of first-rate families and Great Families, as they were naturally given the full resources, and unlimited pill supplies at their disposal. But it was different for the family branches as they usually only received very little allowances, if any at all. This was also the case for even The Great Families branch, where Roy was coming from! Therefore, his title as a 'genius in a thousand years' was by no means a false claim.

But, alas! As though the heavens itself were jealous of his talent, he suddenly collapsed at his 15th birthday banquet. Then, under many people's terrified eyes, he was abruptly screaming incessantly while his body convulsed uncontrollably, seemed to be in pain. His eyes turned bloodshot, and his body was slowly getting bigger. Those who were present had the same thought at this act.
Demonization!
The term was first coined since the ancient era about million years ago, when demons were quite populous in the world. At the time, many of wretched humans decided to side with the demons to seek for personal gains. Power. Many righteous sects were joining hands to eradicate the demons. As a result, a big war took place. Balefire-red blood splattered the grasses, bloody craters everywhere. Cultivators were snarling and squealing as the ground became greasy with gore. The theatre of death filled up with keening and caterwauling sounds as the sodden earth became oily with ichor. The battlefield had been baptised in blood and the bitter, mordant perfume of corpses emanated from it.
In the end, with the help of other races, humanity triumphed over the demons. But since then, the hatred still remained, deep-rooted in the hearts of many.
That's why, when the sight of Roy's Demonization transpired before their very eyes, each and every individual there, whether they were an official or a member of royalty, could only feel seething anger at this awful phenomenon.
--
Roy was thus turned into a cripple and had his spiritual body roots and essences destroyed. As a cripple, he was no longer of any value to the palace and therefore, he was secretly dragged out of the palace in the dead of the night and brought to a deserted place. He was killed there and his body remained in ruins.
.
::PRESENT::
"Huh? This- " he was astonished.
Demons? There were such creatures in this world? And.. this body was of a demon? Impossible. The previous body's owner was clearly human.
As for the demonization? He seemed to have been unaware of this. He just cultivated normally like any other young masters in the family. The cultivation techniques were naturally given by the elder in charge of training.
!?
Was there perhaps a conspiracy ?
But his family sure is cruel, even his father didn't try to interfere when he was crippled by those in black robes. They had actually let their young master get killed and dumped his corpse in the wilderness afterwards! Unbelievable!
At least, can't they just let him go after the crippling session and then be done with it, there's no need for killing. In any case, his cultivation had already been abolished. What was there to be afraid of?
Was their hatred towards the demons exceedingly deep ?
..
Hufft~
What a pain in the ass.
Let's... just focus on my own survival first! I'll get back at them once things get clearer.
He vowed that he would find a way to settle the score with those who had terminated his predecessor with extreme prejudice.
"System, let me see my status." He lightly commanded the system.

Nah, not necessarily the case. If so, how come I don't feel any that could suggest my extraordinary intelligence? Could there be an error?
Anyway, the overall numbers are.. fairly high for a level 1 though.
Wait! Mysthic Energy? What is that? This is my first time seeing this term!
Couldn't contain his curiosity, Roy tapped on the particular hoping for at least a brief description.
Mysthic Energy: ??/??

Shoot! What does this even explain anything?
Fine, I guess I'll save it for later. He pondered a bit, before closing all the open windows.
