《Finding Stardust》Chapter 57 - Haoran's Birthday (2)

After the car entered the highway, Emma asked Haoran about his lunch with his father. The young man just shrugged.
"Not bad. I deliberately invited my grandparents too, so it wasn't too uncomfortable. I told them that I had changed and wanted to do a lot to make the Lee family proud. My grandmother was very moved, she cried. My father liked the idea of me doing an internship at his office. Overall, I think it was quite successful."
"Oh ..." Emma nodded. She could not imagine what it was like to be with a big family like that. She only had a father and mother. She never knew anything about her grandparents and their extended family.
"Oh, by the way... I also went there to borrow my father's ship. He said I could have it as a birthday present." Haoran turned to Emma, smiling broadly. "I want to take you to the sea. I'm sure you have never been to the sea here!"
Emma was stunned by Haoran's words. Ahh ... apparently, this was what Haoran meant when he said he wanted to take Emma to a special place.
Emma hadn't been to the sea since she lost her parents. The children at the orphanage don't have the luxury to enjoy a vacation like other children.
"I've been to the sea, but it's been a long time," Emma told him. "I don't know where it is, but my father and mother once took me to a beach full of glowing plankton that emanated blue lights at night. It's beautiful."
"Ahh ... really? I think it's in the Maldives. There are some beaches there which looked like they were glowing with blue lights at night time. I can take you there someday," Haoran said.
"Ah ... thank you. I'd love that." Emma was very pleased to hear Haoran's promise. "Then, are we going to the marina now?"

Haoran nodded. "Yep. My father's ship... err... MY ship is parked at Marina Harbor."
He drove his car in a relaxing manner, and ten minutes later they arrived in the Marina Harbor area. It was where Singapore's richest people parked their yachts. People could see all sizes and types of ships, from smaller catamarans to tri-deck megayachts in there.
"My father lives in one of the villas over there," Haoran said, pointing east after parking his car.
The place he pointed to was the Jade Harbor Residence, a luxury residential area with a variety of luxury villas overlooking the waters. The villas had their own docks, served as parking for their ships, literally in their backyard. It really looked exclusive and Emma couldn't imagine how expensive it was.
At first, she thought the villa where Haoran lived in Lotus Garden was already very luxurious ... Apparently, it was still nothing compared to the various villas on Jade Harbor Residence. She could only swallow. Emma could not imagine how much wealth the Lee family really had.
"Come on, my ship is on a regular pier. Later, when I move to Jade Harbor, I will also park my ship in the private dock," Haoran said with a chuckle and winked at Emma. "You have to be patient, okay... six more years."
Emma just rolled her eyes and hit Haoran's shoulder. The young man seemed to remind Emma of what he had said when they were in Paris. Haoran said that maybe in six years Emma would have become his wife, and by then, all of Haoran's would also belong to Emma.
"Ouch... why did you hit me?" Haoran pretended to protest.
"You always talk carelessly," Emma said with a laugh. She then tried to change the subject. "Oh, by the way... I didn't know we were going to the sea. I didn't bring swimsuits."

Haoran only smiled meaningfully when he heard Emma's words. He immediately opened the trunk of his car and pulled out a large paper bag and handed it to Emma. "This is for you."
"What is this?" Emma frowned as she received the bag. Her face immediately seemed surprised and her eyes went round. She turned to Haoran. "Is this for me?"
"Yes. This is a surprise. I know you won't bring a change of clothes and a swimsuit, so I bought them for you," Haoran answered with a shrug. "Try to take it out. I want to know if you like what I bought for you."
Emma put the paper bag on the hood of the car and pulled out the contents. There were beautiful bikini sets, cute shorts for relaxing, some brightly colored tops, summer dresses, even some cute underwear. Everything was very beautiful and came from high-end brands. The girl pressed her lips in shock.
"Uhm ... I just mentioned the size and chose the outer garments. The underwear was chosen by the shopkeeper. I did not dare enter the section," Haoran said hurriedly. His face suddenly turned red. "I hope you like them. I deliberately bought a lot because I don't know which one you'd like."
Emma could not say anything for a few moments. She did not expect this at all. She liked everything in the bag! In her opinion, Haoran had a very good taste and class. The girl put all the stuff back in the bag and cleared her throat.
"By the way, how do you know my size? Everything is just right," said the girl.
Haoran just laughed at Emma's words and shrugged. "I just know."
Emma hit his shoulders again. The girl was not angry at all. She was a little embarrassed because suddenly she remembered that night when they kissed after David's birthday. She was reading Haoran's mind and found him thinking about her being naked.
Damn ... it looked like Haoran was indeed skilled at assessing her size. All her curves in his imagination were very accurate. Emma subconsciously coughed.
Haoran quickly patted her back while laughing. "Are you okay?"
Emma shook her head with difficulty. She took a tumbler from her bag and gulped down some water to relieve her cough. After she calmed down, Emma hugged Haoran and tiptoed to say thank you in his ear.
"Everything's great. I like it. Thank you, Haoran!"
Haoran smiled broadly and nodded. He held Emma's head, tilted his head down, and cast a warm kiss on her lips. They kissed for a few minutes intimately, without caring about their surroundings. They only broke free when the corners of their eyes caught a glimpse of people walking toward them.
"Ahem ... I'm glad you like it," Haoran smiled and ruffled Emma's hair. "Let's get to the ship."
He took the shopping bag from the hood of his car and his own bag from the back seat and held Emma's hand to walk along to the pier where the smaller ships were parked. They walked side by side with light steps.
