《Memories of the Gluttonous Sage》About the MC
Advertisement
In case you can't tell, the Gluttonous Sage is our mc. So there won't be much info about our mc unless someone in the world asks him about it. Even then, he won't be able to say much bc he needs to hide the fact he was isekai'd until he is closer with them. Because of this, here is some info about our mc.
Our mc, Cain Bee Dormer, is a hecking smart boi. Despite doing nothing for 2 years, he is still considered a genius among his peers. He is 20 years old. His hobbies are riding his bike, eating, hibernating, reading manhwa/manhua/manga (his collection is at 219), video games, and learning. His major is Aerospace Engineering.
A little about his genius levels. Our big brain moments and shower thoughts are his half asleep moments. The moments when you wake up from that 4 hour long nap with imprints of the sheets on you. Yep, our boi is smart smart. Most plots, schemes, etc. are childish to him. Although he is 20 years old, he feels like he is 40.
Our boi is currently a shut-in. The pandemic was the last straw. The main cause was boredom. He is bored because nothing is challenging anymore. From thermodynamics to designing a plane. He doesn't feel the thrill that was once there and decides to pass the time with anime, tv, and comics.
On top of this, he feels out of place. Like he doesn't belong in this world. Not society, but literally this world (Earth). The main factor though is the contradictory feelings he gets when he does something.
When he attempts to do something, he feels as if he is an expert. After analyzing this emotion once, he found it to be different from overconfidence. He could even visualize how to complete his task perfectly, whether it be something he has no experience in, like forging metal, to something he is quite proficient in, like cleaning out a buffet and getting kicked out.

And yet… Whenever he tries to do the task, it feels like something is blocking him from exerting all of his effort, thus producing results he wasn't expecting, even while lowering his expectations.
His dream is to learn everything in the universe. To accomplish this his original plan was to get a PhD in Aerospace Engineering and Computer Engineering and a Master's in Business. From there he would obtain knowledge about every field of engineering, equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
Why engineering? Because it involves math and science, the building blocks of the laws in this world. (that's what he would say). He firmly believes that there is some unobtainable knowledge that lies behind all fields of engineering. It can only be grasped after understanding every field.
Now for Cain's social life: he has none. Mwahahahaha *sniff*
Anyways, although he has no social life, he is a chameleon. In other words, he can quickly adapt to any social group or lifestyle. Not just in social situations, but in general, his adaptability puts a chameleon's camouflage to shame.
He views food, sleep, and the pursuit of knowledge more important than almost everything. There will be some cases he even disregards the life of others because it'll be useful in an experiment. Although it was very, very, very subtle before the yeet-er, teleport into the fantasy world, with the addition of mana, a whole category of unexplored laws, it is amplified a lot.
Also, another important note: Cain is very aware of his surroundings. He can tell whenever someone is looking in his direction, even if there is a wall or pillar in the way (as long as it isn't too thick). Whenever someone moves behind him, he'll know how they moved, what they moved, etc. His eyes are attracted to any and all types of motion, even if it happens behind him.

Occasionally his head will snap to the general direction the object moved in or from. (imagine turning your head really quick. It's that on top of Cain's eyes automatically focusing on what moved). This can happen even without his glasses, and there will be no difference in range.
To put his level of instincts into perspective (his high awareness stems from this.) If Cain were to move into a new apartment, he wouldn't be able to sleep well since all of his senses will be heightened. He will be able to hear the conversations of everyone above him, know where they are based on the sound of their footsteps, smell what food they're cooking, etc.
Only when he is comfortable in his surroundings, could he get good sleep. One way to do this is sleep with a blanket over his eyes, earplugs in his ears, and 4 blankets to weigh himself down. The blankets are to keep him from feeling the air currents in his room and to cover everything but his nose. Think of an alligator in water, but it's Cain in his bed. Another way is a distraction or levels of comfort that can't be achieved alone. Despite all of this, he can tell whenever someone enters his room, and it will wake him up.
Ah, he is also a memelord. There's 10,000+ memes in his collection.
I went all out with our boi's personality to show that everyone in this world has this level of thought/info about them. Even the smallest of side characters.
Small tidbit about Dresil, our boi's companion (guide, familiar, waifu, whatever you want to call her). (Not a spoiler since she is introduced in the first chapter.)
She has just gained sentience, but also has fragments of memories of thousands of people. Thus, there will be times when she acts like a kid or even have different personalities.

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

Tellus Stirs (Previously Earth AA)
The year is 2030. Earth is dying. War, pandemics, overwhelming pollution, species going extinct, climate change, etc. The so-called human race has brought more harm to their planet due to greed; their increased energy needs were on a path of decadence even with their increased technological advancements. Tactical Nukes were already used in conflicted zones in the fight for resources. The conclusion was a deep and frightening hum unleashed deep within the earth, heard by every living creature, and with it, civilization has ended. Those who survived wished they were slain along with their loved ones as the dead didn't have to endure what came after. Others took the opportunity to gain unimaginable power and prestige as a new age began. Chaos reigned as per the prophecies foretold in the past. Those who did not believe knew the signs were actual; these prophecies were no longer popular folk tales. Such titles, the Breaking, the Rapture, the Malhama, and many others, came at a high cost. After all, every city or densely populated area had been hit with natural disasters that encompassed tsunamis, Earthquakes, Firestorms, Typhoons, and hurricanes. Power, food, infrastructure. All of it was gone and what came after was worse as humans were no longer top of the food chain. Yet the imminent destruction of the 21st century re-opened a veil that had kept the world safe from hidden dangers, or maybe it was the other way around. Time will tell. In our story, the Protagonist rises from the ashes of the apocalypse. A desert child soldier nurtured by tragedy and death looking for an escape to fill the void in his heart. By chance, in his hand, he held a blade with immense possibilities. Notes: (30.06.2021) - I have re-edited and revised the following chapters up to Chapter 24. - Changed the Title from Earth AA to Tellus Stirs.
