“S.. Sir, we might know who did it. The girl who we found, Azura! Her tent was right next to the Prince’s and if we look closely it originated from the exact spot where her tent was, and not the Prince’s.” Lieutenant Blitzen reported to Gabriel.
‘Azura? Yes! It must have been that girl! She killed the Prince.. But for what reason? Was she an enemy spy?’ Gabriel’s mind raced. How could he have let another person to be so near the Prince? Is it because she looked to be only a small girl?
“Quick! Send a Blitzbird, send all of them to His Highness the Emperor.” Gabriel shouted at the bird keeper while running to his unicorn. “Lets go! Find me that girl!” Gabriel rode towards the plains while thinking of all the things he was going to do once he finds that girl.

-Master, that explosion was powerful enough to be felt from here. Do you think anyone survived?- Artemis spoke while running inside the border of Xerpor.
-That explosion was powerful? It was only enough to destroy half the camp, how is that in any way power?- Azura looked depressed, she could only use about 1% of her original power.
-Master, look! There's a border crossing there.- Artemis sped towards it.
“Hello miss. Do you wish to cross the border?” The border manager asked as he looked at the black unicorn.
‘I didn’t know there was an official coming today…’
“Yes. I’m going to Xerpor on a diplomatic mission.” Azura glanced at the manager and saw him relax.
“Oh good. For Tyran!” The manager shouted and the soldiers behind him repeated almost like parrots.
“Yes, for Tyran..” Azura smiled at the manager and he instantly blushed. Artemis snorted at this human, it’s master had defeated it, a human who can only protect the border isn't worthy. “Do you know where I can find the closest town? I need some clothes.” She looked down at her rags and stared at the manager.

“Oh, yes, yes. The town of Aurahill is only 5 km away, it’s the second biggest town in Xerpor, it is also home to the legendary Attoryuu, the Poison Dragon.” The manager quickly told her everything about the town.
“I see.. Thank you” Azura thanked him and went on her way to the town.
“N..No problem miss. O..Oh also, the Imperial University of Xerpors Magicians is located there.” The manager thought that Azura was going to Xerpors Imperial University due to the black unicorn and her being alone.

‘Aurahill, home to our countries legendary Attoryuu.’ Azura read the sign and felt that this language magic she learned from her master was useful, though she didn’t think that in the beginning.
“Excuse me, where is the nearest tailor?” She walked up to an elderly woman and asked.
“Oh, aren't you cute, such a beauty! Why are you alone?” The elderly woman pulled Azura’s cheek and spoke to her as if she was a baby. She then looked at her clothes. “Oh yes.. Hmm.. I’ll bring you over to Natasha, she should have some clothing for a girl like you.”
“Thank you” Azura thanked her and followed.
When they entered the shop, she saw a woman with an above standard face and body type. Her green hair with purple highlights suited her aqua-lime eyes.
“Oh Granny Esther, come in, come in have some tea. You haven’t come here in a long time. Oh… Who is this?” Natasha kept waving her hands enthusiastically as she welcomed the lady in.
“I am Azura, nice to meet you Ms Natasha. I was brought here to buy clothes” When Natasha saw her speaking she almost had a heart attack. So cute! She ran to Azura and hugged her.
“You’re so cute~~” Azura was about to use a teleportation spell, but stopped after she heard this. “Please let go” Azura said to her helplessly.

The Adventures of Alan
What happens when a university professor somehow ends up in another world, where magic bends the laws of nature? Alan is, albeit unwillingly, about to find out. As a professor of physics, he has a decent understanding of how the world works, or so he likes to think. Armed only with his knowledge, Alan is thrown into a world very different from his own. In his new reality, he will meet both friends and foe, he will seek knowledge, he will build power, and perhaps he will even find love again? Follow Alan through his adventures, and find out for yourselves how he deals with the challenges thrown at him by a new world, while struggling with the issues brought with him from his old one. * Author’s note: A fair warning. This is the first time I’ve published anything, and basically the first time I’ve written anything more than mandatory school-stuff. The story will probably have inconsistencies, grammatical errors (not my native tongue, though that excuse is getting old), and potentially confusing (missing?) plot. I will naturally do my best to write something worth reading, but my main goal in writing this story is to have fun and explore the limits of my own creativity. My hope in publishing it here, is that I’ll reach someone who enjoy the story, and can push me forward towards writing more, as it is difficult at times to find the motivation to write just for myself. Additionally, I can’t really promise to have regular updates, as I have a full-time job that often likes to take the ‘full-time’ part literally, and a sporadic social life that occasionally surprises me (happy surprises mostly, so I shouldn’t complain). I’ll aim for once a week to start with, and take it from there. Happy reading! Cover photo by Jeff Hire (/photographer/gun4hire-58415), from https://freeimages.com/.

Contact First
2039 - Earth A narrow beam energy signal appeared aimed squarely at earth from the TRAPPIST system. The communication consisted of a layered set of repeating data over several thousand wavelengths. Over the next few months scientists discovered that the lower wavelengths carried an encoded numerical language which could then be used to interpret the more complicated messages carried on the higher wavelengths. After half a year of painstaking work the signal was fully decoded. It described a small satellite launched along a precise trajectory towards the fourth planet of our solar system. Included was a package of advanced research that humanity would need to have ready in order to receive the satellite and decelerate it safely. The alien data provided the kick that humanity needed to turn from petty squabbling and unite to explore the final frontier. Major government and corporate leaders worked together to create the framework for the United Federation of Sol. UFS spaceports went from scaffolding to daily launches in every major city around the globe. Ships floated like dandelion seeds, spreading on solar wind to grow into colonies. 2397 - Mars orbit, Egeria Station The command center was a hive of activity as checks were conducted and systems initialized. Scientists flitted by like mayflies as communicators beeped and holoscreens spat out green tinted readouts. Nervous energy was thick in the air as everyone anticipated the culmination of over three hundred years of work. Massive fusion reactors under the planet's surface thrummed with barely restrained power as energy fed into a gleaming metallic maze criss crossing the planet. Metal fingers reached up, overshadowing the mighty olympus mons and trying to grab the stars. All over the solar system, people quickly turned to look as gigantic energy lances shot from the dusty fourth planet. Two years later. The same people that clapped loudly at the successful activation of project Hermes now wait with baited breath. A silver capsule trailing bright photonic sails is captured by a net of grav beams and guided with care bordering on reverence into the station. Holoscreens across the headquarters project an image of the sleek craft settling in the bay. Data connections are established and the holoscreens blink to white. Slowly an image forms on the screen. Across the headquarters people stare in wonder as a wholly alien face stares back. "Contact established. Welcome to the universe."
