《Azura the Slayer》Chapter 15: Dragon

Chursin roared at the incoming dragon, preparing to dodge. Attoryuu saw that and he swung his tail mid-way, slapping Chursin’s neck and damaging the scales in the area. Chursin flew back. A blue-green colour started shining from the area that was damaged, while black blood exited the wounds. “Your poison is weak! It can only affect those weak humans!” Chursin laughed at Attoryuu’s poison which was actually very strong, affecting even him, but he did not show it.
“Weak?! I’ll you ‘weak’ you damn lizard!” Attoryuu was completely enraged, his prided poison was actually called weak! He had killed hundreds of other dragons with it, it is his most powerful weapon!
He flew towards Chursin again, only this time, Chursin didn’t dodge. He thought that his enemy had gone completely insane and wouldn’t be able to realize that he was ready to attack.
While Attoryuu charged, Chursin’s claws had started to glow a faint crimson colour. Once he knew his claws had reached their peak, he looked towards the hair-length distance Attoryuu and brought his claws upwards, slashing straight through the tough scales of Attoryuu’s body. Then he slashed down, this time though, the claws only managed to go half-way into the scales. Once he saw this he bit down on Attoryuu’s neck.
*Roar!*
A painful roar emerged, not from Attoryuu, but from Chursin. He felt his mouth burning, melting and turning numb. He looked towards Attoryuu’s neck and saw faint black light, floating and disappearing. Attoryuu smirked, his plan worked. He looked towards Chursin’s melted teeth and mouth. “What’s wrong little lizard? Cat got your teeth?” He laughed as he approached the whimpering dragon. “In your next life, don’t try and fight anyone if you’re not smart enough.” The dragon moved his head down and bit on Chursin’s neck, completely severing the head from its body. ‘Damn bastard, even though you’re such a small lizard you still inflicted this much damage to me.’ He looked down, towards the ruined castle, ‘At least all of those weak humans are dead.’ He was happy he completed the mission, now he would get even better food and jewelry than before from that greedy man. He began flying back to Xerpor as he imagined all the jewelry he would get.

When he was about 50 kilometres from the capital, he saw a burst of bright white light head towards him. He was injured so his body couldn’t react in time. The light hit him straight in the middle of his hearth. Attoryuu was panicking, what could hit him so fast he couldn’t even react!?
As he started falling, he saw a black unicorn in the sky, and mounted on it, a girl. He felt real fear for the first time in his life. Blood red eyes, black hair and it was all on a girl no more than sixteen years old! He saw the girl lower her arm, light fading from it. ‘She was the one who shot me down!?’ If he wasn’t terrified before, he was now. ‘How could a small girl like her shoot me down? It couldn’t be! She must be in a group! Yes, that’s it! She is only the girl that lights the way. When the group leader sees me, they will immediately kneel and try to beg for forgiveness!’ As he tried to calm himself down, he saw the girl approach him, nobody behind her.
“Human! I am Attoryuu! Guardian of Aurahill and Defender of the Imperial Xero Family! Heal me and bring me back to Aurahill and you shall be awarded!” Attoryuu spoke haughtily, almost like it was an honour for the girl to help him!

Legends of The Wesh: Lochley
The Universe is held together by something. It is an undisputable truth but nobody knows what that something is. People claim that it is connected by The Path of Legends, where Gods traversed trying to find the meaning of their own existence. Others claim that the universe is a Tree, connecting worlds with its extending branches and giving life-bearing fruits to its inhabitants. Several even claimed that the Universe is just a colony of ants, that this universe and the worlds in it are just as insignificant as insects. In one of the Worlds in it, the arrival of someone signaled great changes. Gods will die, Trees will Rot, Insects will burn. Those at the top had fallen and they will upend the worlds trying to claim what was theirs. Those at the bottom have had enough of scraps and they yearned to devour the fruits of the worlds. Those that were innocent and caught in between had no choice but to persist, lest they get erased by the surging tides. Nobody knows where will they end, but everybody knew where they started. They will not be judged, they will not be rebuked, they will not be curbed, they will not be vanquished. The universe is their canvas and it’s time — time to paint their truths upon it. Azrael was born as a prince in the warring world of Ost. Inheriting the title but not its privileges and oppressed by his siblings in every step of his life, he had no choice but to be subservient to their whims until circumstances spiraled him to the abyss, to a new world, and to more agreeable companions. But is he truly free from the past or will it continue to hound him to his new life? Elira had one wish… to be known more than as an offspring of the Great Phasol Family. Talented, hardworking, and stubborn, she struggled to break free from the influence of her family. Everything had been going well in her life but is she strong enough to resist the upheaval and truths of the world? William grew up in an orphanage with nothing to his name. Regaled by various tales of fantasy and greatness by his caretakers, he reached adulthood with the goal of having a legend of his own. Will he make his mark on the world or be forgotten like an ant; crushed by the boot of an unsuspecting traveler. The world of Lochley has been at peace for centuries and its undercurrents are growing restless from waiting… waiting for that spark of opportunity to ignite and swallow the world whole. Some will cause it, some will resist it, and some be drowned by it. Which one will you be?

The Last Marshal
Weird West Fantasy Noir Once the Republic Marshals brought order to the chaotic lands along the Frontier, facing dangers both human and supernatural with ancient wisdom and a six-gun —but that was a long time ago. Destroyed by conspiracy and betrayal, all that remains of that secretive order is one nameless man on a trek though the West seeking revenge on the woman he blames for the Marshals' fall and his disgrace. When a visitor from our world joins him on his journey, they together must confront the horrors of a strange land, the mysteries of the past and the real meaning of their quest for justice. The world of Tellus is what 19th Century Earth would have looked like if the stories of Poe, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson were real. History in this world moves slower. The old faiths persist and civilization never conquered the dark corners of the map, at least not without being inextricably changed. Technology and culture takes a little longer to evolve in this land, as people here tend to spend more time pursuing their elaborate revenge plots or trying to avoid being the next sacrifice to the Outer Gods rather than advancing science or statecraft. Imagine Cormac McCarthy by way of Edgar Rice Burroughs, though a little less testosterone-drenched than that description would imply. Three caveats: First, there are deep mysteries here, including how such a world came to be and who controls it. Second, this world is not wholly unconnected from our own. There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.

Demonizing Matters
A high fantasy drama about a young woman who finds out a demon secret. This secret sparks a growing conflict between demons and humans. While trying to save her own life and dealing with the unexpected consequences of her actions, she falls in love with a hated demon. We follow the drama of Lita, alongside a cast of several other POV characters, as she discovers secrets (both open and purposefully hidden), makes well intentioned but sometimes disastrous decisions, and encounters prejudices and truths. Demons may be evil… or not. Humans may be good… or not. God is aloof… or not. Publishing every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is my first real work! Super excited to be publishing! I don’t spend a lot of time describing gore, sex, trauma or any other type of scene that would be labeled as mature. I've labeled the story as mature in every way more because I don't quite understand the standard and don't know if I've crossed the line at all (and I'd rather be safe than get my story rejected for under labeling ;)). Mostly I hint, start the scene then interrupt/fade out, and in general let the reader know it happens but without making it too explicit. (I’d love to hear how I did on this! And if it was still entertaining/informative without being traumatizing.) This is what I prefer to read myself so that’s what I write. I’m not apologizing. ;) If I mislabeled my mature content it was by accident. And, yes, the pacing was also on purpose. Beyond that, I welcome any feedback you want to give! Enjoy the story!
