《Azura the Slayer》Chapter 24: Sacrifice

Sofia felt her vision going blurry as she held up her hands. She looked to Len, only to see his blurry figure on the ground, then, everything turned black.
Amelia held onto Azura’s arm as she glared at Sofia and Len as they both fainted.
Azura walked up to them and patted them down, taking everything from their pockets.
Nearly everyone from the park had already surrounded them by the time Sofia fainted. Instantly, their eyes opened wide, as some of the more faithful boys turned out.
Azura felt up Sofia’s body very lewdly as she searched for anything she had left. Finding something, she reached her hand in between Sofia’s breasts and grabbed a small amulet.
Smiling happily. Azura put it in her pocket as she walked over to Len and tore open his shirt revealing his tuned chest.
Some of the girls squealed as they looked closely. Len was a popular boy in the academy, although he wasn’t handsome, they adored the fact that he followed Sofia unconditionally and faithfully.
Some of the more lewd girls hoped that Azura would reach into his pants but unfortunately, for them, she grabbed some stuff on the inside of his shirt and left him.
Bran and the others felt like their whole bodies were dropped in an ocean of ice as they nearly dropped to their knees.
As Azura looked at them, they took a step back simultaneously.
After giving each of them a glance, Azura gave a smile as she patted Amelia’s head and gave her Sofia’s amulet.
“This thing here will protect you.” Azura tied it around Amelia’s neck and Amelia blushed, sniffing slightly.
“H..hey, we should go back to the academy to study, tests are no joke you know!” Azura looked at her weirdly, it seems that Amelia had gotten a proper test.

“Okay, let’s go.” Azura nodded to Amelia who smiled back sweetly.

“Greetings Lord Ost! Your position is over there beside Lord Mal and Lord Treneta. We will begin soon.” A young man nervously said as he pointed out a position.
Beneath the ground of the Xerpor Capital City, a large arena had been dug underground with the ground covered with a giant red pentagram.
Ost nodded to the young man before walking over to one of the triangles in the pentagram and talking to the 2 other people inside.
The young man walked over to a small hut at the entrance of the arena and knocked lightly.
“Enter.” An old voice spoke from within,
The young man slowly opened the door and kept his eyes to the ground.
“Your Majesty, Ost has arrived, there are only another 5 left to arrive.” His voice trembled as he reported.
“Good, wait for them to arrive, inform me again when they arrive. You’re dismissed.” Emperor Len nodded and marked out Ost’s name from a list of 20 people.
He sighed as he looked out through the one way window into the arena. Seeing the 3 people standing in each triangle, he felt conflicted.
All of this was to summon a couple of dozen humans from a foreign world, he had to sacrifice 20 of his country's most powerful magi. He sighed again and shook his head as he began to write some letters.
----
After a couple of hours, the remaining 5 magi finally arrived. The young man came in to report as Emperor Len looked like he had aged a dozen years.
He stood up as he walked to right outside the pentagram, everyone who was speaking quietened down quickly.
Emperor Len looked at each of them. There were 3 of them in each of the circles and 5 in the middle.

“Great Magi of the Empire, today. I thank you all for sacrificing yourselves to the empire. Your martyrdom shall never be forgotten as long as this empire lives!” He spoke loudly and clearly.
The expression of all the Magi changed, clearly, they had not been expecting this. “What do you mean sacrifice, explain yourself!” A High Magus in the middle shouted.
Emperor Len looked at him apologetically as he nodded to another High Magus wearing white robes.
At once, he started chanting, as the Magi who were in the pentagram stood still, not being able to move.
“I truly am sorry. But this will save the empire. I will commit each and every one of you to the empire's memorial.” He solemnly bowed as he closed his eyes due to the bright light coming from the Magi.
