《A Journey Through the Worlds.》076: Area 12.

He also knew that their opponents were just some barbarians who only knew how to use swords and shields, which meant that they didn't have anything to worry about, there was no real threats at all.
It was going to be an easy deal, and after he returns to his country he would be welcomed as a hero, one who was baptized by war and blood.
When the fleet finally made it to that Area it was night not just dark, but really night people were supposed to be asleep and the place was dark so they were able to land without anyone noticing them.
And there they were waiting for the orders from the higher ups to start their attack, the order was to be given by the man with the highest military rank on the fleet right then, General Hanson Schmidt, as he was given Absolut control over the ground troops, the army, while the navy troops were under the control of Admiral Herbert Muller.
A few drones with night vision cameras were released to look around the area to see if there was any enemies close by.
They were waiting for the readings so to decide what to do.
And soon after the readings came, there was a human establishment around a km away from them; it seemed like a small village or something like that.
The leaders were arguing about what to do, if they had to attack it right then and there or wait till they understand where they were and what was around them before making any decisions.
After a long time of arguing it was decided that they would attack the village right away.
Their orders were to only kill soldiers and leave civilians alone, but only if they didn't stand in their way as if that happened they were given the freedom to shoot at will.
So a few squads headed out to take control of the village, they sent just a few squads and not a whole part of the army because it was just a small village full of sword wielding barbarians, just a few squads were going to be more then enough.
And Karl was in one of the squads that were ordered to participate in that mission.
He thought that he was the luckiest person in the world when he heard that.
Soon after the orders were given everyone in the squads which were supposed to go to the village was ready for what's coming, seeing that their leaders gave the order for them to move.
They decided to take some military vehicles so that they make it there fast enough and without wasting anytime.
They stopped around a hundred meters away from the village, the village didn't even have a wooden fence around it, it was just like that, open for any enemies to attack it.
From their hidden location in the forest the soldiers released a few drones to see where the guards were, or if they even existed.
They found a few sentries around the village, keeping watch.

The leaders asked for a few snipers to deal with them, which was an easy thing for the later.
And because the snipers were using silences no one in the village was able to feel anything at all.
After those guards were died the soldiers were finally given the orders to enter the village and secure it.
The village as said before was just a small one, it was just an isolated piece of land, and it didn't have that much guards, even the ones that they dealt with in the beginning were just some normal unlucky villagers who had the night guard duty that day, sealing their fate.
So soon after they made sure that no other guards were left and that the village was surrounded the leaders gave their soldiers an order.
And when that happened, since the first time that they entered Area 12, the soldiers released a bullet without a silencer, they didn't aim at anything specifically instead it was just for waking the villagers.
That would have been a bad thing to do under any other normal circumstances but in Area 12, where people didn't have any strong weapons it was a good way to deal with them.
The loud sound of the bullet woke up everyone in the village, and as the heads of the families got out to see the reason of the loud noise, they found the soldiers outside waiting for them.
"Who are you, what are you doing here, don't you know that this village is under the protec... ahhh" one man started shouting at the soldiers as soon as he got out, it seemed as if he wasn't afraid of them at all, as he shouted loudly at the soldier standing in front of him, he also was using English, as the place that the soldiers landed on was Australia.
But unfortunately for him, let alone having an answer to his questions, he didn't even have the chance to finish his words, as he got kicked to the stomach by the soldier who he was shouting at, making him stop in the middle of his sentence and fall to the ground while rolling and holding his stomach in pain.
There was a soldier who understood the language that the man used so he opened his mouth and shouted in the same language:
"Everyone we are taking control over this village, be cooperative and we won't hurt you, but if you do anything idiotic your life and safety won't be guaranteed."
When the people there heard that they wanted to take control of the village, they showed surprised expressions as if they couldn't believe that someone would dare
do that, but the tone that he man used wasn't the one of a man who was joking and the man who was still holding his stomach while rolling because of pain was also a good example of what could happen to them if they didn't behave so they all calmed down and decided to follow orders.

Karl who has been looking at the biggest house in the town since the beginning noticed that no one came out of it, and how some people in the crowed were throwing glances toward it from time to time so he moved toward his squad's caption and said:
"Sir I saw that no one came out of that building, may I ask for permission to take a team and enter to see who's inside."
The caption lifted his head looked at Karl before turning around and looking at the big building, thought for a while before saying:
"Ok you can take a team of five men with you and see who's inside."
"Yes sir." Karl said.
He was excited as he was given the chance to lead a team, it was just a small team of five men, and it was just temporarily, but at the very least he can leave a good impression on his leader if he did it well.
So after saluting his leader he moved toward where some of his friends where and choose five of them to join him, he told them about what they were going to do
.
After that they all moved toward that building, it was the biggest building in the village and it had a big wooden door, just from that it was apparent that it had the best security in the whole town, which also meant that, whoever is there is quite an important character.
The door would have been a problem for anyone in the village or from that world, but in the face of soldiers from an advanced world that type of doors was just as if it wasn't even there.
First Karl gave a sign to a soldier with him who was better in English then him, the latter nodded and shouted:
"Open the door, if you won't open it by the count till three we will destroy it."
There was no answer from behind the door so the soldier started counting:
"One... Two... Three..." after he finished he looked at Karl who nodded his head and said:
"Destroy it."
The solder aimed his weapon at where the lock was before opening fire, the lock got destroyed fast which was to be expected as even in their Area the locks that could handle a continuous rain of bullets were rare let alone in this backwater land.
As soon as the lock got destroyed, a soldier moved and kicked the door opening it entirely and entering.
The others were right behind him as they were protecting him and covering all the areas which he couldn't see, it was done cleanly and professionally as they and trained about that a lot, it was a skill that they were way to good at.
After entering they started moving and checking the rooms in the house one by one, some rooms were empty whole others had some people in them who seemed like servant, they also found some children who seemed clean and dressed way better than the others.
They asked of everyone that they met to leave the house where the soldiers outside would take care of them while they kept on searching in the house.
Finally after dealing with all the rooms in the lower floor they started heading to the upper floor.
Stanley was shaking, he could hear the voices of the people heading toward him from the lower floor, he knew that he didn't have a lot of time and that he had to finish what he was doing as fast as possible.
He couldn't stop himself from cursing the head of the academy for giving him such a talisman that takes such a long time to activate, but yet even while he was complaining he didn't stop any of his actions.
He didn't stop his hands from making those weird hand seals, and saying those complicated words.
And just as he was almost done and the talisman started turning red, he heard a 'boom' and when he lifted his head he saw that the door to his room was destroyed, and what appeared in front of him was a six men team.
They wearing unusual cloths that he never saw before, they also were holding some long things in their hands which they were aiming at him.
The intruders seemed surprised when they saw him standing there in the middle of the room with the shining talisman in his hands, but soon they returned to their senses.
One of them shouted at him in somehow weird English, it seemed as if he had an accent:
"Threw what's in your hand or we will shoot, do it, stop whatever you are doing..."
He kept on shouting different things, but Stanley understood that if he stooped at that moment everything he did would be for nothing, especially wgen he was just a little bit away from activating the talisman, so he closed his eyes and put everything he had on activating it.
He understood that he probably won't survive but he didn't care he had already lived long enough, and death was just around the corner for him.
That decision of his got only stronger after he saw how weird those five people seemed, they were dressing in such a weird fashion and their language and behavior was so unusual, they gave him such a bad feeling, so he had to alert the people in the academy about what was happening in their village as fast as possible.
Finally after that man shouted at him to stop for the third time he heard another man's voice, the voice sounded void of emotions as if its owner had made his mind about something, that man used another language, the one that they were using since the beginning.
Stanley somehow understood what was said, he understood that his fate was decided, yet he didn't care as the talisman was finally activated.

I have had magic explained to me by three cult leaders, a wizard, and a cannibal. I've heard that magic is like a rainbow, all its parts blending together. The human unconsciousness, powerful and unknowable. A body, you don't want to eat the heart straight away. I am sick and tired of people telling me what magic is. I know damn well what it is.” He drew a breath, interrupting his rant. “Magic is a bad joke. A whole lot of setup, for some nonsense punchline. This whole god-damned apocalypse is an eldritch comedy.”
