《Abyssal Dragon: Awakening》Chapter 4: Cara Vermyn
Advertisement
Location: Ronin Empire, Satriona Continent: Argen City
Cara Vermyn's gaze had been focused on the Southern part of the continent, where the Udyr Kingdom is located, intently searching for something. She stood dressed in her abundance of purple and black robes staring from the balcony of her castle built in the center of the city. Her beautiful purple eyes scanning the distant lands while her black feline ears upon her head twitched from time.
She turned back to her room a black tail trailing behind her, a sudden wind blew from within her room blowing her raven black hair from her shoulders.
"That disturbance, first the massive mana effluence from the demon continent and then a disturbance in space-time from the Udyr Kingdom. Whatever that damned demon did, must've had a massive cost and whatever it is can't be good for this continent," she spoke to seemingly no one, but as if space was distorted itself before her stood a colossal bipedal elephant, its massive figure cloaked in purple and black, towered over the tiny female feline.
"What's your orders, my queen?" he asked in a mellow voice obviously not fitting his stature.
"Find it. Destroy whatever it is," she ordered in an authoritative tone, the colossal bowed before space distorted and there was only Cara left in her room. She went back to the balcony and looked at the city around her.
'I've sacrificed too much for my Empire to lose all of it now. That demon will not get his way, not again.' she looked solemn as memories of old resurfaced, the dreadful invasion of the demons and the betrayal of the Elves. Her people would have lost the war if not for the arrival of the Gold Dragon King, after which an alliance was established between the three nations of the Satriona continent, driving back the forces of the demons back to their hell hole.

"Old friend, something is brewing and you're at the center of it," she said looking back to the south before entering her chambers before the doors closed, a voice answered seemingly defying space.
"Nothing that I can't handle, but I'll be counting on you." an arrogant voice replied, to which Cara scoffed and her doors closed behind her.

The Many Deaths of Kara Lowe
112 years ago, the Bubble Burst. 103 years ago, the Great War ended. 76 years ago, the War of Two Worlds ended. It is now 2021 and Homo Sapiens, Homo Subcinctus, Homo Variari, and Sapient Beasts have been living together in a hard-won harmony for 75 years. Or so they say. Atypical high-school student Kara Lowe has some serious doubts about that. After she is killed and brought back to life by her accidental murderers, she is forced to abandon everything she thought she knew about the world, and herself. While plagued by a mysterious Order that believes she should not exist, Kara must prove her right to life by destroying an age-old enemy with an unfortunate connection to her. There won't be a ton of gore or traumatising content, that's not the focus, but the tags are there to be safe. The main character uses colourful language when she's angry. The main character might seem to be talking to you at times. She is not. Things will make sense eventually. A quick note about religion: this novel takes place in an Alternate History setting. No existing religion from our world exists in this one. Any similarities are coincidential.

Wild Child
Flynn was a normal college student with a normal routine. Wake up, go to school, come home, do homework, laze around until midnight, lay in bed trying not to let the existential dread of inevitable death set it, and go to sleep. Completely normal stuff, really. That is until he mysteriously wakes up in a space between dimensions with game-like prompts demanding he purchase skills before he is sent off to another world. And look at that, it only takes 95% of his skill points to buy the [Eternal Youth] skill, what a steal! Too bad that in this new world there is no civilization, uh… anywhere. ---------------- Hey all, this is just a side project I’m working on in my spare time so I don’t get burned out while writing my more planned out stories. Mature +18[?]------Hiatus notice, I'll be rewriting this story heavily over the coming weeks. It isn't going where I wanted it to, bare with me for awhile. Ideally, a months time, but time will tell.------Andrew Marks, among over a million, 'players,' is forcibly recruited into a game where the reality and fiction interlace. Where the slightest error will spell death. For yourself, for your new found allies, or the world. 'Choices have consequences,' is a lesson the Corporation wishes to remind people. In this new world where many fall each and every day, a man simply tries to avoid it all, yet the world isn't so kind as to let him off so easily.--------Chapters do tend to be on the longer side, well, in comparison to other fictions I've read on this site. Typically anywhere from 2500-4500 words depending on my mood at the time.In addition chapter releases are largely dependent on my mood so it should have at least two chapter released a week, however, I'll be busy for the next bit so it will be subject to change. --------Anyways, please bare in mind this is the first creative writing piece I have created with the exception of a novel I started writing just prior to this one. I'd appreciate any help or guidance you may give me to better my writing. Be it characters, background or setting, I'm quite sure there are a few loopholes. This is intended for a mature audience, viewers discretion is advised. I digress, enjoy, rate, comment, and let me know how it's treating you so far! I'll take any help I can get!
