《War of the Zwei Kinds [Logbook Deactivated]》25 - A Consideration of Faults

Spending some time with Chau-Min in the cafe, They talked about various things from fashion and pop culture to politics and other unordinary human talks. William felt exhausted from the long conversation he had, so he had to take a rest afterwards.
Chau-Min spent some time arranging her bed as she played with herself a deck of cards that she probably used to spend some time. "Hmm... I guess I will hit." Chau min asked herself as she played a game of Blackjack herself. An odd way to play but worth the time.
The others were either doing their own work at their respected rooms or went out to visit close relations, maybe their significant other or just friends and family.
Captain Shanina was busily showing the Friendly Axis Captain known as Jasmine around the base. Knowing that the axis captain has lost all communication to the bio-mother, there will be no worries for a sudden body control or an edge in spying. Since Axis Members were ex-military or ordinary citizens, they were either given knowledge by brain data transfer or just left the way they were. For this axis captain's case, she was an ex-member of Continuum, a sweet return, perhaps.
"Nothing rgheally... changed much.." The ex-axis captain, Jasmine, coughed out as she strained her throat that is dry and rather flesh-eaten. "I feel...like I am back....home." She sighed out as she drinks as much water she could from her water flask.
Shanina nods with a slight smile. "Yeah...." She said softly. Her nose was still a little itchy from the strange musk that Jasmine was letting out from her decomposing skin. Having a break from the long stroll, Shanina bought for herself a packet of hazelnuts to munch on as Jasmine was trying to interact with the other soldiers who may or may not recognise her from the canteen. A few were disgusted, however, due to her sheer look and her smell she left off or some just really really hates Axis due to some horrific past incident that may have given a near-death experience, who knows.

Shanina kept an eye on her in case she might get into trouble. Most of Jasmine's old teammates recognised her and welcomed back with either open arms or slight embarrassment. Some even apologised for not being able to help her before and after her ...transformation.
After some time, Shanina made a whistle and a hand gesture that they need to go. Jasmine thumbed up and says goodbye to the people she talked with before keeping up with Shanina's pace. Sometimes it was hard to speak or even walk alongside Shanina, as she was rather tall, so, she gave further paces compared to Jasmine who was rather short, lanky and slightly weak from the decomposing.
"Sorry, for being slow," Jasmine said as she looked down and made an odd stuttering noise as if she was glitching. "It's fine, I am used to it." Shanina peered behind her left shoulder a little as she made a bland face.
"The scientist will run some tests on you now, I got a mission to take care of, Miss Jasmine, Alright. " Shanina said as she stopped in the middle of their tracks. Shanina points to a room filled with panelled glass windows and a metallic gas door. "Go in..." She sighs.
Jasmine nods slowly as she limps towards the door. "thank you for your hos...pitality...."Jasmine made a slight smile as she entered. Shanina blinks her eyes slowly as if she didn't have a proper response.
Shanina walks away, heading towards the west wing. She paged (yes, they still use pagers) her teammates to come out of their rooms and get ready. The ones who were out of duty were given a day off but they could join in if they wanted to.
William received the message on his phone, he left his room after putting on his uniform, his riot armour and weapons were in the locker room, where the others would be headed too afterwards.

"Hey, Sherrinford help with removing the clasp please, my arms hurt from yesterday's excursion." A fellow soldier asked Sherrinford who was her locker neighbour. "Ugh..Hah, Sure...Hold up a second..." Sherrinford heads to her as she unclasps her neighbour's bra. "There we go..." Sherrinford said as she went back to fastening her belt.
"Why, thank you." The soldier said as the door of the locker room opened, William waltz into his locker as he took out his armour vest. As if not even giving a damn inside, he just sat down and changed. "So Sher....where will Mastermind meet us again? The usual?" He asks as he fastens on his neck guard.
"Yeah.." Sherrinford answered back. "The usual room." She closes her locker as she holsters her gun onto her back.
She stood next to the locker room door, waiting up for William to finish dressing. "Come on, hurry up then..." She sighs.
"Says our support who barely wears any heavy armour..." William makes a grin.
As William finished preparing himself, they headed to the conference room to be given intel and information on their next mission.

Thank you. ------------------------------------------ The sword is greater than a simple weapon; an answer to life's questions. An extension of thine master's hand, guided by wrist. Care it not whether guilty or innocent blood shed, for be it a mere edge, a weapon. For blade that forgets or refuses to cut be shameful, meaningless, disgraceful. Nay, be it considered a tool at all? What dost the weapon do when the steel hath no guide, that the master hath mingled far? Doth it Stay? Perhaps quiver at possibility, the loss of reason for existence? Or does it go forth into the unknown, guided by merely the wind and the edge? A wandering sword, a phantom blade- A lone Samurai. ------------------------ Credit to Nicklas Gustaffson for the image. Deathless Towers
Transformed & Leveled up! Check for Deathless Dungeoneers. If you enjoyed the first incarnation of this story, you will most likely enjoy its successor more. This story wasn't going the way I wanted, there were too many things wrong about it, and so I gave up that ghost and started over from scratch, keeping only the Cuttlefish of psionic doom, and the magic system. This fiction is no longer supported. Climb. Kill. Become Deathless. Rhen yearns for the magic to save his home realm from the devastating Kavga invasion. To earn that power, he must first survive the trials of the Deathless Guardian. Paired with a psionic cuttlefish from another realm, Rhen must cultivate his spirit to tame magic he’s only dreamed of and conquer his tower to ascend from an expendable recruit. But it’s not just Rhen and his psi-pal looking to join the Deathless guild, and their rivals will stop at nothing to secure a position. If they fail to defeat their tower in time, Rhen will be sent home, dishonored and powerless.
