《Origin Of The Forsaken》Chapter 1

Darius groans as he wakes up with an awful hangover. His eyes open a crack, causing him to wince from the bright light around him. That’s strange, my room is never this bright. He thought before he slowly opened his eyes again. He finds that he is in a forest instead of his bedroom where he was expecting to be, which causes him to sit up quickly, looking around repeatedly.
Where the hell am I? He thought as he looked around confused This can’t be a dream, can it? It feels too real. He slowly tried to stand, finding that he had a hard time gaining his balance he crawled over to a tree. He used the tree to help him stand, shaking his head to try and clear it somewhat.
Initializing System...
Darius’ eyes widened in surprise when the window appeared before him “Oh what the hell?” He shouted as he shook his head. “What kind of shit is this?”
Welcome Darius Martin, to The System. You have been randomly selected to be a champion of your world. To this end you have been brought to another to learn of the threat that is coming.
He watched as the window faded, taking some time to process the information he just read. “Well, shit, I definitely can’t dream up something like that.” He looked around again for anything interesting. Seeing nothing he decided to do a bit of testing. “Well, if I have a system, hmm. Menu? Not that, uh Status.”

“What? A blessing? Who the fuck are the three?” Darius said as he started to walk through the forest, keeping an eye out for anything he could use. “I can’t do much with this at the moment, I’ll have to remember to ask someone about all this when I get to civilization. Right now I need some shelter, water, and food.” He walked for a while, trying to find either a cave or a cliff he could set up a base in or against.
New quest: Basic Survival
Objective 1: Find a safe place.
Objective 2: Find water.
Description: Finding yourself in a forest alone, do your best to survive.
Rewards: Skill [Basic Survival], Basic Survival Knife
“Quests, huh, that’s helpful at least.” Darius spoke as he continued to walk. After a couple of hours he manages to find an outcropping of rock that he thinks might make a decent shelter. He looks around for any signs of water. “I don’t want to lose track of this place, I wonder. Map” At the command a screen appears in front of him, showing a map of the area he is in, only showing the terrain that he had traveled.
He hummed as he tried to figure out how to control the map, learning that he can lightly touch it to move and zoom the map. After a little bit of working at it, he figured out that he can set a small number of waypoints, setting one up at the outcropping of stone before he closed the map and started to walk through the forest again to try and find water.

The Infinite Labyrinth
(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Any hope for a quick end to Napoleon's rampage across Europe ended when the Great Gates opened in 1800. For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.

Mad Alice
A retelling of Lewis Caroll's "Alice in Wonderland" with a twist. Alice is a powerful demon who has been trapped in a cursed place for years, waiting to be summoned. She wants nothing more than to return to Wonderland and find the person who has ruined her life. After Lucas—a half-beast man known as the "White Rabbit"—successfully summoned her, she made a contract with him and he became her master. As his familiar, she is bound to fulfill his wishes. But, in order to keep their deal, Lucas must grant her only wish before the time runs out. It's just a short story containing 5000 words. However, I plan to expand it into a full novel once I finish my other series.

Unwitting Champion
"In stories this is always easy. There's magic and powers, and quick steps to claiming that power for one's self. This doesn't feel true for me. I'm supposed to be a Champion, whatever that means, and yet I don't feel important. I don't have all the bells and whistles, which honestly feels familiar even in a new world. But what was I expecting? I haven't had the worst life - there are people with worse problems than mine - I've known what it is to struggle, to be pulled down instead of being helped up.This is nothing new."When in great peril, the Kingdom of Althor has no choice but to send a call into the void, beseeching the Fates to bring them a man who would save them from the coming darkness. Unfortunately the path the Fates chart is often unknowable to men and the Champion who appears is not what the kingdom expected.Unwitting Champion is a story of a guy displaced, dealing first and foremost with trying to survive in a world where he is no longer a person but a tool, and - at least from the reaction of those around him - a shoddy one at that. His major goal is to survive long enough that either he can run or find a way home, because as exciting as the possibility of learning magic might be, he would rather have a boring life than a short life.
