Zhong Yi and the dainty lady named lady Yan with the Blazing Spear Sect’s disciples entered the path leading to the eight level.

Weng! Weng! Weng…

Consecutive sounds echoed out at the eight level where a group of people appears at the exit of the path.

The Blazing Spear Sect’s disciples were delighted when they see the fruits hanging on the branches on the eight level. The leader of these disciples came near to Zhong Yi and said, “We never thought that we could reach the eight level. We knew that without the both of you we will never even dream about this accomplishment.”

“N-no, no, it was not me but all because of her. Haha…” Zhong Yi hurriedly denied and humbly passed all the merits towards the lady beside him as he secretly glanced at her.

When the leader of the Blazing Spear Sect’s disciples saw his action he quickly understands it which he hurriedly said, “Yes, yes, yes it was all due to our lady Yan who helped us come here.”

The dainty lady name Lady Yan only giggled as if she knew that the leader was currying favor from Zhong Yi but she didn’t rebuke the person as she was happy to see Zhong Yi happy.

After those short conversation, the group started to pluck the fruits until they reached the end of the bough with the last batch of fruits needed to be plucked.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom…

A consecutive explosion suddenly rang out behind the group. They simultaneously turned around and looked at the explosion’s locations. They saw ten large magma balls.

“Chet, another group of ifrits again? Heh, do this pesky beast could defeat our young master Zhong Yi and our lady Yan.” Someone remarked as the magma balls started to open revealing what is inside the balls.

Cra-crack-crack…

The cracking sound resonated clearly on their ears as the cracks crawled its way like a web spreading around the magma balls.

Boom! Whroaa!

A loud roar suddenly echoed out from the ten magma balls sitting on the bough!

Zhong Yi’s face suddenly changed when he heard those voice because he knew that it will not be good. With its loud roar filled with power and authority that average ifrits couldn’t compare.

“I-it’s a guardian ifrit!” one of the disciples suddenly shouted in fear.

“Get back! Distance yourselves towards at the end of the bough.” The leader quickly gave instruction to his members.

“Big brother Zhong Yi what’s wrong? Is there something bad going to happen?” Lady Yan asked in concern towards Zhong Yi.

When Zhong Yi heard her sweet voice he felt that he didn’t want her to be badly hurt by this evil beast. He then quickly said to her, “Do not worry, as long as I’m here no one would ever try to hurt you without going through me!”

Like a gospel of words from heavenly scriptures rang on Lady Yan’s ears when she heard those assuring words that was so manly. Her cheeks suddenly turned red and she quickly looked at the ground scared to be noticed by Zhong Yi who was now too serious facing the ten Guardian Ifrits.

On Lady Yan’s mind, the words that left from Zhong Yi’s mouth still kept repeating on and on like a record looping nonstop. Contrary to what was running on Zhong YI’s mind as he keeps thinking how to protect the lady behind her and escape this calamity.

He looked around the area and only realized that they were at the tip of the bough. The only way for them to escape was to pass through the ten Guardian Ifrits and enter towards the path but he couldn’t let these disciples sacrifice themselves just to let him and lady Yan pass through the blocking Guardian Ifrits.

‘Chet’ Zhong Yi clicked his tongue.

Without choice, he reached his right hand towards his bosom inside his clothes and grabbed four flags. He then said loudly, “Disciples of my Blazing Spear Sect heed my call!”

When the disciples who were in the midst of their fear heard that voice involuntarily answered, “Yes young master!”

“Protect lady Yan and I will open a path for all of you!” Zhong Yi said while his face painted with seriousness. With a flick of his hands, the four flags turned bright in white color. A while later forming into four different weapons.

“B-but, how about you young master!” The leader of the disciples suddenly asked.

“Don’t worry about me.” Zhong Yi turned around and faced lady Yan and smiles.

When lady Yan heard his voice it suddenly wakes her up from her fantasies.

“What did you say big brother Zhong Yi?” Lady Yan worriedly said.

Zhong Yi returned his gaze towards the large ten Guardian Ifrits and said, “Go and join other disciples I will open a path for all of you.”

Zhong Yi grabbed the large black hammer floating in front of him which came from the white glowing flags that transform into a hammer.

When he grabbed it, he swiftly stomped the ground and leaped towards the nearest Guardian Ifrits.

“Zhong Yi!!!” Lady Yan screamed in fear.

“HAAAAAA!!!” Zhong Yi shouted while he was still on mid-air wielding the large hammer on his two hands.

Bang!

The large hammer smashed on the knees of the Guardian Ifrits which in turn involuntarily kneeled on the ground. The other Guardian Ifrits was alerted and were angered when they saw their kin kneeled one-foot. With a roar, they ran towards the kneeling Guardian Ifrits with a loud ‘thud-thud-thud’ on every step they take and when they arrived at the kneeling Guardian Ifrit they quickly scanned the surroundings and look for the culprit.

A white-clothed person was flying, wielding a large hammer on his two hands towards one of the standing Guardian Ifrits and shouted, “Run!”

Bang!

The chin of the Guardian Ifrits was smashed by the large hammer wielded by Zhong Yi. The Guardian Ifrit couldn’t balance itself because of its height thus uncontrollably fell on the ground.

The leader of the Blazing Spear Sect’s disciples shouted to his members, “Let’s go! Don’t waste our young master’s opportunity he has given unto us!”

But lady Yan was as if she was deaf, she just stood dumbly there watching Zhong Yi fighting against the ten Guardian Ifrits.

‘Big… brother… Z-Zhong… Yi… why?’ she murmured.

Crackle!

On her forehead, a golden tattoo emerge!

A life-like phoenix head was on her forehead with its feathers made up of flames that dance around its body.

“Big brother Zhong Yi! I will go with you!” she exclaimed before she leaped from the ground and joins Zhong Yi.

In the midst of intense battle and with the loud clashing metals. Zhong Yi fighting against the Guardian Ifrits was like an ant fighting an elephant. As long as the Guardian Ifrits hammered down their shields and greatswords, Zhong Yi could only receive their attacks passively.

When he heard the voice of lady Yan was like a puncture rushed from the bottom of his spines. As a chill rushed upwards to his head.

“Just go with them lady Yan, there’s no reason for you to join me.” Zhong Yi who was nimbly evading all the attacks of the Guardian Ifrits through jumping on the bodies of these Guardian Ifrits.

Lady Yan who was on her way was put to a stop but a while later she answered, “B-but I don’t want to leave you alone big brother Zhong Yi!”

“Lady Yan, let’s go!” The leader of the Blazing Spear Sect’s disciples hurriedly come forward nearing towards lady Yan.

A gentle golden flame coated around the leader whose eyes turned wide. The flames crawled its way to the other disciples. And when they were covered by the golden flames. They flew towards the sky. Flying through the entrance bypassing the guardian ifrits.

One of the golden flames where the leader of the Blazing Spear Sect’s was shouting intensely, calling the maiden who cast the golden flames that coats the disciples and the leader’s body.

After the members were taken care of, lady Yan took a deep breath before she gently taps the surface of the ground.

Boom!

In contrary to her gentle stomp. A large explosion resonated below her feet. With that explosion, it hurled her towards the group of Guardian Ifrits.

Zhong Yi who was monitoring lady Yan’s action all the time was scared to death that he couldn’t help but yell, “No! Why would you do this!?”

Bang!

With that yell, he lost his concentration that he couldn’t evade it in time leaving him no choice but to meet it head-on!

‘Bruaa’

Zhong Yi coughed up blood with his cultivation base so low, he would easily receive a heavy injury.

But a gently two hands suddenly wraps around his body while he was in mid-air. And a golden flame dance around that crawls towards his body. A gentle voice that carries the worry and care echoed near in his ears, “I will do this because what would become of me if I lost you.”

Though, with his severe injuries, his cheeks suddenly intensified into the red that he couldn’t help but feel light as if he was in heaven. Ignoring the intense pain on his body.

A red pill was chugged on his mouth amidst of his fantasies. When he opened his eyes he realized that they already landed on the ground. His injury was already healed when he opened his eyes.

But what made him flabbergasted was the sudden change of lady Yan’s disposition. She was now standing in front of him. Her body and even her clothes were covered with golden flames that dance from left to right.

The ten Guardian Ifrits was now looking at the two of them. Their dancing red eyes, glowing in anger, while their brows that elongated as it turned into a pair of horns were flaming fervently.

Thud… Thud… thud…

The Guardian Ifrits started to move as the stomped the ground shaking the entirety of the bough.

“Haaa!” Lady Yan shouted as she waved her pair of hands into circular manner.

Bang!

But before lady Yan could launch an attack or even the ten Guardian Ifrits could slash their weapons or shields. One of the Guardian Ifrits was knocked forward that the Guardian Ifrits could only put the shields and greatsword ahead of the Guardian Ifrits in order to protect its body from the impact on the ground.

Zhong Yi and lady Yan were slacked-jawed when they witnessed what happened one of the Guardian Ifrit and it didn’t stop there.

Bam!

Another Guardian Ifrit was knocked to the side almost falling on the bough.

Boom!

A deep depression was on the chest of one of the third Guardian Ifrit who was struck by another unknown attack. All the attacks were swift that the Guardian Ifrits’ reaction was three seconds late. As they stop their approach on the two people ahead of them. The Guardian Ifrits quickly scanned the area locating the culprit around their perimeter.

While the Guardian Ifrits was looking for the person behind the upheaval. Zhong Yi and Lady Yan were also looking for the person who initiated those attacks.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Suddenly, two whooshing sound echoed in their ears. They quickly turned around and saw two people standing. One of the two was smiling at them while the other was cloaked by a hood on his head.

“Ch-Chen Yun!” Zhong Yi was delighted to see the person he wanted to meet again.

“Big brother Mo Yonggan!” Lady Yan quickly jumps towards Mo Yonggan whom who quickly catches her as he widens his arms.

“What a coincidence that we’ve met you here.” Chen Yun nonchalantly said.

“Yea-“

Roaaar!

They just started to continue their conversation but the roars of the Guardian Ifrits which was now so angry put their conversation into a stop.

“Well, well, I think let’s just finish our job here.” Chen Yun punched his two hands.

“Yeah!”
