The year is 2115. War and famine are gone from Earth thanks to modern technology, robotics, and legislation. The Moon and Mars have been colonized, but as of yet no one has been able to leave the solar system because we lack the technology to travel in space between solar systems safely and efficiently. Some self-sustaining, near light speed craft have launched to explore the galaxy but all have come back due to creatures we call Void Entities.
Void Entities act like wild animals and they live in the dark regions between solar systems. Void Entities come in all shapes, sizes, and colors but none of them can get close to a solar system or they will disintegrate. The disintegration factor is very comforting to all human life in our solar system because we would be over run and destroyed if they did not react that way. Another interesting feature of Void Entities and the hardest thing to combat is that they seem to have what most would classify as super natural powers and magic.
Research teams have tried various different things to either find ways around the Void Entities, copy the effects of a star to protect the ships from attack, and have developed weapons to try and fight thru the Void Entities but so far no ship has been able to breach the territory of the Void Entities and make it into a new solar system.
The newest initiative developed to solve the problem of the Void Entities was created by the genius researcher Ming Su Woo. Ming Su Woo thought to use all of humanity as a force to solve the Void Entity issue instead of only a handful of super smart researchers. Thus the game Space Explorers was born using a super AI and the newest virtual reality equipment and programming. The game was designed to have no limits and even incorporates the newest discovery of Mana and Magic into the game.
