《Farmer: The first》Arriving and Job

"Mmmm....ahhhh.....
Jason opened his yes with difficulty and saw that a small amount of light was coming from the back of the wagon he was in. It was just a glimmer, but it showed that the sun had risen.
"Good morning! Did you sleep well?"
As he was sleepily getting used to the surroundings someone wished him a good morning. He turned back and saw that his sister was already awake and was making a simple sandwich, two pieces of stale bread and some dried meat between them.
"Well enough. How about you?"
"Good...." she said just that and continued to make the sandwich of Jason's nightmares.
Seeing that this conversation was not going anywhere Jason just rubbed his eyes to get the sleep out of his system and grabbed one of the sandwiches she was making, but when he stretched his hand he couldn't help but notice her flinch.
He didn't say anything and just started to eat his sandwich, but still kept an eye on her.
' She is clearly traumatized from that experience, but what can I do about it? I'm not a.....*sigh*...
Fuck it, I'll try what I can and hope it works.'
He continued to eat two more sandwiches before he heard a knock to the side of the carriage. It startled them at first , but when they heard the voice they calmed down.
"Is everyone awake?"
Jason recognized the voice as that of the merchant who was taking them to the city.
"Yeah, we are already awake. Is there any problem?"
"No no, I'm just telling you that we will be moving soon. In about 3 hours we will be reaching Laulan City's southern gate."
"Got it!"
"We are moving in five minutes."
..........
Three hours passed in a flash and a big city came into the view. It looked big from afar with it's high stone wall and several tall and narrow towers , but the more the closer he came to the city the more Jason understood he had really underestimated the city's size. It was at least three times as big as Petro City.

' So this is it. Leyland City, one of the Gino Empires most important trade and dungeon cities. Not only is it rich because of the natural resources nearby , but also because of the high rank dungeons near it.
A truly great city.'
As they approached the city gate Jason noticed more and more people and carriages. Some were going to the city and some were leaving it. Merchants happily singing a song as they knew that they soon would be making a lot of money and groups of adventures wearing armor heading to god knows where. This all seemed so magical and mundane at the same time, that it made Jason remember once again that this was a whole completely different world compared to Earth .
As they approached the city the two of them got of the carriage, thanked the merchant for his help and headed towards the city gate. They went in the line for travelers and had to wait about one hour before their turn came. During this hour of waiting Jason could help but stare at some of different races around him. They were very fascinating, elves, dwarfs and even some purple skinned humanoids. It was a feast for the eyes, until their turn came.
"NEXT!" said a man dressed in casual clothes. He didn't even raise his head as he furiously wrote down in a piece of paper. He was writing so furiously that Jason wondered if his feather pen he was writing with would pierce the wooden table which he was writing on.
"IDENTIFICATION!" shouted he again as he still didn't raise his head.
"Uh... here you go."
Jason took an envelope from his sack of stuff and handed it to the man. The man absentmindedly grabbed it and was about to process them, but he stopped . He raised his head and saw Jason and his sister awkwardly smiling at him. He then looked at the letter he had on his hand and opened it in a swift move.

He quickly saw it's contents and his eyes shined in delight.
"NEXT!" shouted the man again and he shooed away the two before him. Jason knew that they had succeed and immediately entered the city dragging his sister with him.
After they entered the city they didn't loiter around and headed immediately at a hospital, or a place people of Jason's status could stay the night. It wasn't the best place for them, but considering consider the amount of money they had left they wouldn't last more than two weeks.
' Hah, money money, my old arch nemesis. Even in his world your vile tentacles seemed to have reached me. Sigh....'
He lamented his situation as he reached for his sack , took out the coin he had left and saw that he had no more then 10 silver coins. Seeing this made him sigh, something he had found himself doing a lot lately.
' I guess there is no other choice, I have to become a porter for a party of adventurers. No one wants to take care of two orphan teenagers who don't have any skills beside working the land, so I'll have to make do with myself.
Jason opened his status and saw that it hadn't changed since the last time he saw it.

His Vitality had already completely outclassed his other stats making him as healthy as he could get, but it also had raised his stamina into another level. This was very useful for the job he was going to do, but strength was another requirement for a porter so he added a point to strength and immediately felt his muscles scream in pain.
"Ughh.....
He wanted to scream , but forced himself not to. He held it in as he looked once again at his status page.

"What's this...my Spirit has gone up?"
He immediately noticed the increase in Strength from 4 to 5, but surprisingly his Spirit had also gone up by 0.75. That surprised him at first as he hadn't put any points to Spirit, but when he saw the 0.75 increase, he immediately understood.
' This is definitely the increase of the ' Pain Resistance ' skill! I wondered why my Spirit didn't go up when I gained the skill, but now I think I know.
As the name suggest the skill seems to only activate when I'm in pain, but still, it surprisingly didn't raise my SP cap? Is ' Silent Steps ' also like this?'
Jason almost forgot about the pain he was experiencing as he wondered about the functions of his skills. It intrigued him so much that even after an hour he still was looking for an answer.
