《Farmer: The first》Beckoning

The caravan fortunately didn't meet with any problems during the way and in less than an hour they had arrived at Laulan city's surroundings. There instead of being greeted by the bustling city surroundings, they were met with something that made their hearts feel heavy , as if a rock had replaced them. The ones in the front couldn't help but stare at the bloody ground that was dampened by the blood of many creatures, most of them were human.
"What, the hell, is this?!" quietly muttered the bald mercenary that was to the front of the caravan. He couldn't believe his eyes as he saw the devastation that was in front of him , in front of Laulan city's gate. He tried to count the dead bodies laying silently on the ground, but he stopped himself as he knew that there were at least one hundred bodies.
*Tack*
At that moment something flew close to the bald man's head and stuck itself to the ground. The items vibrating noise made the mercenary turn to his right and see a long and sturdy arrow had dug itself to the ground, a red ribbon was tied at it's tail.
"Were beeing attacked!"
"What, what did he say....
This freaked out all the villagers around as they lowered their heads in panic and looked around for anyone. Most of them didn't know what had happened, but they just went with the flow, except for the bald man didn't didn't care as he was focused on the arrow.
"Red, what's going on? Why are the villager's panicking like that?" said the dwarf who had run from the back with Jason in tow. They looked alert and ready to fight, but they didn't see any enemies.
"It's bad, the situation is bad." answered the bald man without taking his eyes from the arrow." Someone just sent us a warning arrow to not approach the city gates, and.... you can see for yourself."

"What do you....." the dwarf didn't finish his words as he looked past Red and saw the numerous dead bodies laying around them. Jason also was taken aback at the number, as he hadn't ever imagined something like this.
"Hey, dwarf, what the hell is going on right now?! Was the city attacked and taken over?" said Jason as the dwarf who still looked shocked.
"The city.....I don't know. For something like this to happen....it's impossible...." muttered the dwarf to himself which made Jason a little worried. He also thought that a city that big couldn't have fallen so quickly , but he wasn't sure.
"No, the city hasn't fallen." said the bald man saw he reached and dug the arrow out of the ground" But something definitely has happened, and this arrow is proof of it. The red ribbon tied to the arrow signifies that we have been warned, and if we decide to not head that warning and continue to approach, we will be considered as enemies.
You can guess the rest yourself."
"So, that means that we can't enter the city, right?" questioned Jason as he looked back at his sister who was staring at him. She seemed scared and hopeless , making Jason irritated at the situation.
"So, what now? Do we continue towards another city or what? We can't stay out here right?" said Jason as he hoped for an answer, but the bald man didn't answer and just took the dwarf to the side without a word. Jason saw this and understood that things were not well, and that he may have to give up on the idea of entering the city.
' It seems that when shit hits the fan, there is a possibility that it may also get into your mouth. If not, how can I explain my diastase for them right now?' thought Jason as he saw the two of them talking in private, but didn't didn't make a move to get involved.

He then turned back and went to where Veina and the others were, somewhat hoping that the two of them were thinking of a solution, but he didn't have much hope for that.
"Brother, what is going on, why aren't we moving forward anymore? Is there a problem?" questioned Veina with a scared and pale face, which made Jason even more irritated, not at her, but at himself as he was so weak and hopeless in this world. He felt like a grown man in the body of a little baby, not being able to do anything.
"Yes...
There is a problem, and we can't move forward anymore. We seemed to have been warned to not approach the city anymore, and if we do, we will immediately be considered as enemies."
"What?! Why...
"Hey, is what you're saying true?" chimed in Besia who also seemed worried, cutting of Veina. Besia's mother and grandmother on the other hand were talking something to each other to the side, so they didn't hear anything.
"Yeah, I wouldn't joke about something like that?" seriously answered Jason "The adventures also seemed to be perplexed by this, but I would guess that it has to do with the massacre that seemed to have happened right outside the city."
"A massacre.... what do you mean a massacre?! " yelled Besia in surprise ,drawing the attention of the villagers nearby, which as soon as they heard that , begun to whisper among themselves. As that happened, the news spread around like wildfire and everyone was in a frenzy as they learned the truth
"What , the ground if filled with hundreds of dead bodies? Does... does that mean that war just started?"
"War...at a time like this? Shit..."
"We're dead, we can't survive like this! "
The villagers started to become restless, but no one dared to make a move. They were to scared to do anything at the moment but whisper among themselves, thinking about what had happened.
" Haaah, it seems that now everyone knows. Well, I guess that it couldn't be kept a secret for long anyway." said Jason with a sigh. He was tired of things happening to him that he only now appreciated his normal and boring life he lived back on Earth.
' Man, I would kill for a good pepperoni pizza and a coke right now. Fuck this world and all those in it.....' thought Jason as .tears welled up on his eyes. This was seen by Veina and Besia , and they completely misunderstood Jason's feelings.
"It's going to be okay......" muttered Besia who didn't believe that at all and Jason believed it even less, but his luck hadn't run out yet.
'Hmmm..... what is poking me? It feels tingly?' thought Jason as he lowered his head and saw a strand of grass was tickling the exposed part of his left foot.
' A strand of grass? Am I loosing mind.......no, it's really moving!' shockingly thought Jason as the blade of grass bent over and over, again and again towards the left, into the forest. This made Jason think about his sanity, but realized that something like that was overrated in this world.
He got up and headed towards the place where the grass was pointing at.
"Veina, wait here for a moment as I need to go take a piss. I won't be long so don't worry about it....
".........
"..........
This left both Besia and Veina speechless as they couldn't understand what was going on inside Jason's head, and it was best for them if they never knew.

Haven in a Dangerous World (Old)
Devin McMullen. Female. 18. Single dad. Dead mom. Good in fights and little else. No friends. Or, at least, that's what she's always been. Now, she's not sure exactly what she is. She's never been one for reading fiction, or anything for that matter, but this feels like something straight out of a fantasy. Her newly acquired instincts, however, scream dungeon core. Whatever that is. Unlike most dungeon cores, though, she's missing something very important. A dungeon. Stuck out in the open, above ground where she's definitely not supposed to be, with not a cave in sight, or any other land form besides miles and miles of ice and snow, Devin's not sure if she can survive. Update: Big caveate, though, just so you know. Started with this one idea and ran with it as far as I could. Characters and plot suffer from it, but I'm proud that I wrote as much as I did. I will rewrite this at some point and make it so it actually has plot. Check out my wordpress © [koallary] and [Haven in a Dangerous World], [2017].
