Karmin Picked up… something, and chucked it at the guy in the lead… The enemy. Luckily after his ‘terrible’ aim it konked an enemy soldier. After a quickly muttered sorry, a stomp on the runner's back that probably broke his spine, and smashing through the enemy soldiers Karmin was now one of the leaders of the pack. At least enough of a leader that he didn’t focus on slowing anyone else down and instead on smashing through the enemy like a mad mountain ox on stamina potions.
Karmin saw that Martin made it too when he stabbed some chick in the eyes. This was a good thing, Karmin knew that Martin was loyal. He would only betray Karmin after everyone else was [Dead]. Karmin felt reassured.
Karmin [Charge]d ahead and smashed into the next group. He wanted to find some cover but there wasn’t any. There were no wagons in the streets or carts or chariots. There weren’t even barrels that he could hide behind. What kind of ally doesn’t have barrels and crates!... Whatever, Karmin was a soldier now. He was a true warrior! He wasn’t going to hide behind some bric a brac to get rid of his tale. He would fight them gloriously after he regrouped from pulling his tactical reverse charge. It was something his C O had taught him from the recent battles. It was such a brilliant tactic!
Karmin made it into the next enemy formation before he was surrounded and unable to move forward. This was so unfair, the hero isn’t supposed to let anyone stop his charge. And these scrubs aren’t supposed to be able to stop or slow the hero!
But Karmin was in trouble this time, since this was a formation of [Soldier]s if not in name at least in rank. It wasn’t going to be so easy to just tear them apart, like a seamstress or even a woodsman. He needed help, or the distraction Martin launched with his poison gas. Good thing Karmin recognised that [Bomb] he threw! It’s almost like Martin was trying to take him out with them… He probably imagined Martin clicking his tongue, yeah…

After holding his breath and [Whirling Slash] into a [Shoulder Check] he was back outside the formation. He was now at the back of the back of leaders though. It seemed that he wasn’t the only one that had used Martin’s distraction. “I thought you used up all your items getting here, where’d you get poison gas?” Asked Karmin.
“I looted it from an ally that kindly donated it to the cause on the way over. I’m not the only one that works with inverse medicine.” Replied Martin.
Karmin just nodded his head sagely, not that he understood, but you never wanted your subordinates to know you didn’t understand. But he did get the gist ‘killed a guy from our side while he had his guard down and took it from his corpse, and probably his coin purse.’ It was what he would do, if he knew what the marks looked like. The only person he knew that would have those items was Martin, and he hid them well. You would think he was just a regular schmuck walking down the street, if it wasn’t in the middle of a battlefield in the middle of war. But that was now the best rogues did it. Nothing like putting a mask on your face to scream ‘I’m about to do something bad to you, you are not going to like this!’
Karmin decided that Martin was probably going to be useful for a bit longer and let him keep the items. He probably knew better about how to use them anyway. It wouldn’t due if Karmin got himself killed with one of those things.
Karmin Picked up his pace and ran out of a back alley and into the main street. Now that there were more people charging through it was suddenly much easier to make his way towards the central flag. There were many that had tried to charge in but only got stopped in the midst of a fight with a large formation or two of the enemy. They were almost always losing battles, but with the charging allies the reinforcements were coming in too fast for that to matter much.

Karmin moved through the main street and suddenly it opened up completely. There were no more enemy units and the only soldiers out there were allies. Which made Karmin mad because he was clearly nowhere near first. He used up [Charge] as much as he could with Martin keeping up without trouble. They were still sticking close together, relatively, because they knew what kind of moshpit they were going to get into when they got to the prize.
It was extremely quiet throughout the area. There were no enemies and nothing that looked to be of value except the buildings. While they were nothing more than shacks themselves the fact that they had a veritable town assembled in less then a week amazed Karmin. He just couldn’t wrap his head around it.
Then he came around a bend and saw the original palisade. This was the building they made around the original camp when they first set up on the first day. The enemy saw no reason to tear it down so they set it up as a sort of inner wall of sorts. The problem with the allied soldiers was that they hadn’t figured out how to take it down yet. There were a large number trying to smash it down, but they would take a while to get through the enchanted mana infused wood. It was a standard practice to make the normal wood, in spite of trees being incredibly sturdy, to be incredibly strong.
Karmin slowed to a trote and stood a companionable distance away from an ally. “What’s the holdup?” Karmin asked.
The random ungrateful soldier rolled his eyes and said. “As you can see they have an inner palisade and we just don’t have the tools to take it down quickly. Those cowards have locked themselves up tight and won’t let us in to share the wealth and goodies they’ve hoarded!”
Karmin walked over to the nearest house. He knocked down most of it but took the green tree trunk that was used as the central pillar. He strained to lift it up before shoving it into the hands of the bug eyed soldier. “There, tool, now go take it down with some buddies, soldier!” Karmin said. Karmin ignored the fact that he was actually outranked by the man and felt glad at heart when the soldier ran off with some other soldiers to use the makeshift battering ram.
… And then all hell broke loose and rained arrows from the sky! It was an interesting thought to karmin as his mind processed the chain of events. He had a distinct lack of arrows throughout this entire charge. Even up on the walls it was mostly spearmen or their relative counterparts. There were hardly any soldiers up on the walls. Now though, it was thick dark rain.
He ran into the half destroyed building and plucked up the walls. Martin seemed to appear by his side as he used them to block the rain. He charged up and handed them off to the battering ram crew before grabbing more. Soon others got the idea and there was a small fort outside the bigger fort. Occasionally an arrow would pierce straight through the wood, or an [Arrow Rain], obviously from a powerful ranker. Karmin didn’t care. The fact that they set up a trap meant that they were close. Close enough that Karmin was actually helping the ram!
Bam, Bam, Bam, and they were through! Karmin charged out into the battlefield with his prize in sight! There were only some measly soldiers in a perfect formation in his way… Probably [Soldier]s then. Oh well, they would be [Dead] [Soldier]s soon enough and he would have his promotion.
He smashed through into the enemy line. He needed to get those archers down as fast as he could. Already he had to in the back on the left side. It was giving him this vicious stitch in his side that made it hard to use skills. But he had worse on the streets. In fact being a soldier was a cushy job with better survival rates then what he was used too!
