《Arthur...but the draft》Into The Dungoen (end)

While Arthur was investigating the -Ring of the Twelve-, he suddenly felt a tremor in the hall. It was subtle at first but gradually began to intensify. Soon after, he was teleported out of the hall and back to the lone island at the center of the small lake. Stumbling for a bit due to the rapid change of events, Arthur eventually stabilized himself as he surveyed his surroundings. Regaining his bearings, he then turned to the stone at the center of the lone island.
With the gentle lapping of the lake against the lone island, the calm and serene scene was soon interrupted by an explosion. The stone boulder at the center of the island suddenly shattered. Excalibur, who seemed to have been trapped in a daze the entire time suddenly woke, as bits of stone collided with him.
“Huh! Wait, Huh? What happened?” Twirled Cal as he spun in a circle trying to make sense of his surroundings. After a few seconds of panic, Cal settled down and finally noticed Arthur approaching.
“Have you been here this whole time?” asked a surprised Arthur.
“What do you mean by here this whole time?” questioned Cal with a voice of confusion.
Arthur simply pointed to the sky in response. Turning upward, Cal noticed that out of the original twelve suns, there now seven with one of them at three-fourths the brightness of the others.
Cal turned to Arthur in shock.” I have been unconscious for six days?”
“Six and three-quarters to be precise.” Nodded Arthur.
Slowing accepting the truth, Cal’s gaze focused on Arthur intently,” then what have you been doing this entire time?”
“A trial, after I touched the broken sword in the stone, it was transported to a trial. I will explain more about it late. But speaking of the broken sword, where did it g-“
Before Arthur could even finish, a deafening roar suddenly boomed through the dungeon. A shattering sound followed right after as a large crack abruptly appeared in the sky of the dungeon. As the crack appeared, the energy within the dungeon suddenly became chaotic, causing massive tremors.
The landscapes of the dungeon began to roll and turn, mountains started to crack, plains fissured, and forests uprooted.
Something was obviously very wrong. It should be noted that when a special dungeon has achieved its purpose, granting a legacy, treasure, power, and so forth. Typically, the next course of action for it is to drastically reduce the amount of time it will be open for. However, for such a chaotic scene to happen, something isn’t right.
Nevertheless, while this was happening, the entire dungeon sky shined a bright white. A few seconds later, all the light began to condense in a spot at the outer edge of the dungeon. Below the spot, a giant white arch slowly began rising out of the ground. The more the light condensed, the more the seven suns in the sky began to dim at an extraordinarily fast pace with the already dim seventh sun blacking out completely.

The more the suns dimmed, the darker the dungeon became, until the only light source became the white spot in the distance. However, with how soft the light it emitted was, it cast a strange light, giving all those within the dungeon an eerie feeling.
By now, everyone had figured out that there was something wrong, and they needed to get out of the dungeon immediately. With how the dungeon was behaving, it was clear that what was happening was not within its control.
All of a sudden, a suffocating pressure descended on the entire dungeon. From the crack in the sky, a giant black mass started to slip out the crack. It was unshaped at first, but as more of its mass slipped out of the crack, the more tangible it became. The pace was slow at first but exponentially began picking up the pace until a giant serpent shape was formed. But interestingly, this serpent was completely sleek and black like ink, while small black spheres sporadically rose from its body like bubbles, giving it the eerie feeling of something unnatural. As it fully descended from the crack, the energy within the dungeon became even more chaotic, with some people even coughing up mouthfuls of blood.
The serpent’s gaze swept the entire dungeon, and as if pleased with what it saw, its obsidian black eyes shone in delight. However, as it reveled in its joy, the ground beneath it cracked as a giant centipede-like the creature clamped down on its midsection with it’s four blade-like protrusions – the alpha Ruryrm.
Seeing this massive Rurym, one thought ran through Excalibur’s mind. ‘It’s evolved.’
If one were to look carefully, they would notice little streaks of red on it’s four blade-like protrusions. It would seem that some of the dungeoneers had paid the ultimate price in search of an opportunity.
“We….we have to go, NOW!” roared Cal.
Hearing call’s shout, Arthur snapped out of his stupefaction, Arthur nodded as his white streak turned green. With a huge gale wrapping around him, he grabbed Cal and immediately shot toward the slowly rising white arch, flying over numerous trees in a flash.
As they flew, they also noticed numerous dungeoneers dashing from various directions towards the white arch. Some were flying, some were riding beasts, and so forth, but they all had one thing in common, fear in their eyes.
While everyone was running as fast as they possibly could, a sudden BOOM sounded as the earth heaved and rolled. The few that were brave enough turned their heads around to see the black serpent slam the Ruryrm into the ground. And as it did so, the black serpent opened its large mouth, biting at the head of the Ruryrm. Whether a person was watching this happen or not, a sicking CRUNCH graced their ears. Those that were brave enough to turn around paled as they saw and heard this. Right now, everyone was wishing this was a nightmare they will be waking up from soon. However, since when were things so convenient.

GULP!
Another sound resounded across the dungeon as the black serpent swallowed the head of the Ruryrm. As it did this, it’s obsidian like eyes lit up in relish before diving back down to swallow the corpse of the Ruryrm whole. Gulping sounds could be heard intermittently, but it only caused the fleeing people to even faster.
Suddenly the energy within the dungeon became even more chaotic. Changes began to occur all over the black serpent. It’s slender body seemed to now be segment into a hundred parts with pointed protrusion coming out of its sides similar to that of a centipede. Traveling up to its head, two blade-like protrusions jutted out of the sides of its mouth, giving it an even more menacing appearance.
But then something happened that made everyone’s heart sink. The hundred segments of the serpent’s body started to separate. In seconds the hundred segments split into four groups. For those who still dared to have their head turned around as they ran, they watched as the four groups of segments start to conjoin and form four large ring blades. As for the head of the serpent, the ends of it narrowed and slopped down like a ponytail as the four-ring blades spun around it.
SCREEEEE!
The black serpent roared as it released it’s ring blades.
WHISTLE!WHISTLE!WHISTLE! WHISTLE.
The serpent’s rings flew through the air, dashing towards the fleeing masses as it’s obsidian cold eyes watched on from the air, with hints of amusement.
A few seconds later, crashing sounds rang, followed by four huge plumes of dust.
“AHHH, someone…someone….SOMEONE, PLEASE HELP ME! I can’t die li-“The abrupt scream was suddenly cut off, but it wasn’t the only one.
“AHHHH!”
“NO NO, NOO!”
“WHAT THE HELL ARE THES-“
The four-ring blades had landed, and like wheels of death, they began rolling in the direction of the white arch, claiming lives along the way. Bits of flesh and bone were thrown into the air, showering those a bit ahead.
Seeing that the rings were catching up, numerous people began using their skills and abilities to damage or turn the rings. But, much to their dismay, none of them were effective, and those that were a little too close were reaped of their lives.
The more lives were claimed, the more people started to notice something, the rings were growing larger. But then suddenly, as if wanting push people into further despair, the serpent hissed loudly as its obsidian eyes shone a black light.
As the serpent did this, the four growing rings started to converge until, in a blink of an eye, turned into one massive ring.
While this happened, Arthur turned to Cal,” we won’t make it this rate. It getting faster while we are all slowing down. We will all probably die before we even make it the exit.”
“I agree. The only thing I can think of is making an attack strong enough to subvert the chaotic energy while impacting it with a strong force. If we could divert its path even for the slightest bit, it should buy us enough time can make it out.” As Cal mumbled this, his eye then lit up. “Named skills.”
“Hm?”
“Name skills can draw significantly more energy from the realm compared to unnamed skills. More energy means more power…remember that flame slash you used after your spar with Cisse.”
Hearing Excalibur’s words, Arthur’s eyes lit up. “How do I do it?”
“Focus while channeling the skill, if it’s strong enough, a name will naturally come to you, the realm energy will understand what you want?”
Nodding his head, Arthur’s green hairstreak blazed red, followed by a jet of flames at his feet to maintain his flight. While he flew, Cal turned into his sword form, acting as a medium for the surge of flames Arthur was releasing.
As they flew, the sound of wailing people filled the air, along with more flying bits of bones and flesh. The closer they got to the white arch, the faster the ring became.
After a few minutes of more death and screams, the white arch finally appeared before those who were still alive.
It was at this moment when Arthur spun in a one-eighty, gripping the blazing Excalibur. His voice was solemn and profound.” Emblazion, LACERATE!”
A scorching giant flame slash almost as big as the wheeling ring suddenly filled the air, dashing toward the ring.
It was also at this time when another voice sounded. “Ohene, Ohenemaa, HOWL!”
Two crimson red crescent light blitzed over from the side, dashing for the giant ring also.
However, before either skill hit their mark, a miraculous thing happened. The two skills ended up fusing together, creating a gigantic crimson red flame slash.
BOOM!
The crimson flame slash collided with the ring, blowing it into the air. From the impact, a huge shockwave rocked the earth, followed by a rush of hot air.
Turning to see the sender of the two crimson slashes, Arthur’s eyes widened in shock. “Cis…Cisse?”
Before he could ask what he wanted to Cisse grabbed Arthur by and cuff of his neck and dashed through the white arch.
A few seconds later, sensing that there was no mortal left within the dungeon, the arch started to collapse on itself.

Recruit - An Infinite Labyrinth prequel
A prequel to The Infinite Labyrinth. The year is 1816. The British Empire is in full swing, under the auspices of King George III. The Infinite Labyrinth has been pouring out its product from beyond our reality and fostered a new industrial revolution. Times are changing, and the people of London are feeling the winds of the revolution while British Professionals push into the Labyrinth. The newly formed Artefact Hunting Company is looking for recruits, and they have new technology to help them. From the slums of London, they aim to recruit a new wave of Professionals. And make Zacharias and the Earl of Carnavon lots of money. So, for Rowan Rivers and a handful of lucky ones, it's time to head into the Labyrinth, and discover what makes it different from England. And what makes THEM different? Recruit is a bunch of chapters I wrote to create to the setting, mood, and game systems of the Infinite Labyrinth. It is NOT a complete story in the classic sense. It's more of a slice of life view of early days of a normal Professional from the Infinite Labyrinth, and it's heavy on info-dump. It's 90% canon - there's probably a bit of a difference between how some characters and common behaviour are portrayed here and how they'll come out in the main story. Set two years before the events that kick-start the main series, it features some of the secondary/peripheral characters of the Infinite Labyrinth and will tell you all about the basic mechanics of the Labyrinth's RPG system. It can be considered a spoiler, as the characters in the Infinite Labyrinth are going to need to figure out all that, on their own. But if you like a much deeper exposition in the mechanics, here it is. The entire prequel is about 80 pages long.

The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
It is about a London lawyer named Gabriel John Utterson who investigates strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr Henry Jekyll, and the evil Edward Hyde. The novella's impact is such that it has become a part of the language, with the very phrase "Jekyll and Hyde" coming to mean a person who is vastly different in moral character from one situation to the next.------------I do not own or did not write this story. It is a copy of Original Book that I have uploded to help spread the book to wider audiences. Hope you enjoy.
