《Jaeger Saga》Update

Hello,
Akira Hanma here. I’d like to thank everyone who’s read the whole arc from start to finish. It intrigues me every time that when I publish a chapter that I receive views and especially when that number of views grow throughout the arc. So, yeah, thanks for the egg for these trying times.
Jaeger Saga is the first serial fiction I’ve ever written so I’ve learned a lot throughout the process of hammering out a chapter every week:
I’ve gotten rather good at cranking out a chapter a week. In the beginning I had a hard time sitting on the couch and JUST WRITE so I had to build up a stockpile of chapters before I started releasing. I thought I could keep it up but then school got added onto work so my whole plan kinda hit the fan. The stockpile ran out and I really had to just go for it to get a chapter done on time for Wednesday. It was not fun. But eventually I got used to it and the whole process became easier. My only regret is that I didn’t add more character moments where they just chill for a while. I’ve come to really like the cast that I’ve built and should have fleshed them out more. But to be quite honest with you, I wasn’t enjoying this arc as a whole and found it not as interesting creatively. I thought about abandoning it several times but I had already sunk quite a few words into this and I didn’t want to leave any viewers reading the story to get blue in the gills. I figure it isn’t fair to y’all so I decided to just soldier through. That is not to say I’m not proud in some ways. I pretty much wrote a whole novel, ~55K words. That’s the most I’ve ever written for a single project. I do regret that I didn't put my whole heart into it and that my best wasn’t on display though.

This leads into my future projects.
Despite what I said in c) I do want to come back to Jaeger Saga except I’m going to pull a Berserk: Golden Age on y’all. It’ll take place before the events of the Red Forest because I want to explore the past setting, which I have in my mind that it’s very chaotic and tougher to survive in especially without guns, and since it’ll take place in the past the story will focus on a different character until it catches up with the current timeline. But until I come up with an outline, Jaeger Saga will have to be on hiatus for a while. How long? Give me about three months. Not only to plot the whole thing out but work on other projects too. There’s another serial I’ve been kicking around in my head. I’ve already got a few key worldbuilding details that I think will make for good arcs. The world is set in our own so there’ll be guns and cars and other modern stuff.
Now that the Red Forest Arc is finished, I would like it very much if y'all rate and review. I have no clue how you feel about the story overall and any critique, good or bad, I just want honest feedback, is appreciated.
Anyways, that's all I got to say.
Shout out to TaoBio for commenting and reading the whole thing. Thanks, man.
I hope to see you all again.
Stay safe,
Akira Hanma

The 8th Day
One day life is good. The next day it isn't! The boundaries between... well, whatever they're between.. have shattered! Monsters burst out from cracks in the universe, and reality suddenly begins to function similar to a game -- but not a game that anyone knows all the rules about! Magic is suddenly real, but so are monsters and death! Lots of death! And the worst part of it all? I think we did it to ourselves! We invented video games, and personally I think that great Finger-in-the-Sky picked up a console somewhere and started playing them. Since He liked what he saw, he must've declared, """"On the 8th Day, let there be Game!"But what do I know about it all, really. After all, I'm just """"The Witness"""" forced to observe it all.__________________________________________________________________________Author's Note: There's a lot of tales where characters get stuck in a Virtual Reality. """"Sword Art Online"""", """"Log Horizon"""", """"The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor"""". This is a story told with the premise inverted -- instead of a person from reality going into a virtual world, what would happen if the virtual world instead came to reality?I want this tale to speak about the aspects of the game, as it has affected the current reality, but the focus of the story should never be on the """"reality-turned-game"""" itself, but on the characters and their oh-so-human struggles, personalities, and attempt to adjust and live within the bounds of their new existence. Hopefully this won't just be a story of """"reality turned into a game"""", but instead will be something more meaningful such as a story of the strengths, perseverance, and humanity of man-kind as they try to adapt and face the unknown.*** And, most importantly, I hope everyone enjoys reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it. ***WARNING: RATED MATURE M[18+] FOR GORE, SEX, VIOLENCE. The apocalypse isn't a pretty place to try to survive in, and neither is every scene in a story trying to describe it.
