《Netherwyrm god》16- Aragil Grayscale's eternal curse

“Bloodbane, can you burn my eyes? I can’t take it anymore.“A young gray scaled dragon asked a young green dragon, Bloodbane.
“Aragil, are you sure you want to do this? Wait until you become a god. Maybe your will be able to control your visions.“The young Bloodbane suggested.
“No, I am sure. If I wait, it might be too late. I am already close to insanity like this. Please help me or I will go find help elsewhere.” The young Aragil pleaded.
Bloodbane understood his best friend better than most and could not bear to watch him suffer. He decided to help Aragil get rid of his cursed eyes even at the cost of him losing his powers of a seer.
“Alright, I am going to leave a wisp of my green flame in your eyes, as long as I am alive your eyes will never grow back. Stay still it is going to hurt.”Bloodbane spit two wisps of green flame that burrowed into Aragil’s eyes and stayed there.
Aragil screamed for a minute until his eyes had disappeared completely. His body’s attempt to heal him ended in failure in front of the eternal green flame.
“How does it feel? Huh? See any visions about anything? Bloodbane asked.
-No it’s over.hahaha...I can’t see anymore.“ by the way said the happy young Aragil.
“You are an odd friend. Asking your friends to cripple you. But I am finally happy to see you laugh. By the way, how are you going to move around with those new eyes of yours?” Bloodbane asked.
“Well, just help me go back home for now. I will try to train my senses. As long as I can feel an obstacle in front of me it will not be too hard.”The smiling aragil said.
“You see yourself as a god already, I see. I will call your brother to bring you back. He is not far. Those snobby Grayscale clan members of yours always infuriate me. If I come with you this time, I might as well start a war.” Bloodbane said with a hint of amusement,
They bith laughed for a while before parting ways.
Years later in a luxurious estate. Aragil was slowly concentrating on touching floathing letters in a pitiful attempt to read. His reading speed was too slow. He hated it.
“My favorite hobby was taken away with my eyes. Sigh…-“ said Aragil.
He was about to stop his reading when a bundle of information appeared in his head.
“What is this?" he said before he concentrated on the information that had just entered his head.
"this is ….the entire book…this is impossible…I lost my ability to see the future by sight a long time ago. How can it be?”
His sight had come back in a weird way. From the day he was born to the day he lost his eyes, everything he saw gave him a vision of its future self. A pebble, a vase, any living being.Everything that could be seen. He spent evey second seing futures that he never wanted.
Normal seers could control their powers and see what they wanted by concentrating. All they cared about was seeing a more distant future.

For Aragil, his ability came on its own and it never ended as it used the mana around him as fuel. Not his. Closing his eyes only worked while he was still a baby but that action forced his eyes to evolve early and he found himself being able to see through his eyelids. It was a living nightmare.
After Bloodbane helped him get rid of his eyes, he finally got to live in peace.
Now, his mind was expanding at a rapid rate. He had no way of stopping it.
A decade later.
“It seems that ridding myself of my eyes was a fatal mistake. My mind has grown to a degree that allows me to see and feel this entire universe in real time and it seems that it still has more room to grow. My pitiful eyes cannot be compared to this nightmarish ability that lets my mind see anything around me and I am not even a god yet. Sigh what am I, really?”
A few eons later.
“I made it to the cosmic level a long time ago. I thought it would be the limit to the expansion of my mind but I was wrong. It doesn’t stop. I can now see all the universes in this world in real time. All the possible futures about any being inside of them is being shown to me in real time as well. If this continues, I will soon forget myself and become nothing but this power I hold. I have to find a way out of this….”
“Oh, …another seer is trying to access the future. How lucky he is…he can only see a simple version of it…How about I try and help him see better?...Oh, it works…so I can also do such a thing…. What is the limit of my ability…or abilities…”
“My own future is empty…I wonder if I will become an omniscient being after all of this…I have to find a way to stop my mind from expanding or this power of mine will eat me. ”
“What is this? …a time traveller…he call himself Markus….Hum?... I cannot see his future…is he from the past? Or he came from somewhere in the future I cannot see… What the hell? This feels like my power….is that me?”
“Another reality…My power just found another place to expand into…Damn time traveller. If that Markus never appeared, my mind would’ve only been contained inside this world only. Now it has been shown another reality in which I am experiencing the same problem…I really have to find a way out of this...”
“Every time a seer changes the present by avoiding a future mistake or disaster, I am once again pulled into another reality where they chose to not use their ability and did nothing.”
“It is also possible for another reality to be born from every choice a living being makes.”
“Every day I get pulled into infinite realities. All my counterparts are in the same predicament. Since we are all connected, we are trying to look for a way to save our souls. The Alucard clan thinks that they have the strongest souls but mine is not only everlasting but it has to keep up with my ability which knows no bounds. If my body is destroyed my soul will forever remain and will keep becoming stronger and stronger forever. The problem is that I might not be able to keep my old memories. I will slowly forget myself and die but this ability of mine will stay around with the only purpose of just seeing and doing nothing else. ”

“Oh… humans will create an interesting singularity in these futures. It might be my only chance to save myself.”
“I have to create a common future in all these realities related to Markus arrival. The singularity must appear in all of them then I will let it devour me. When it does so, I will take over and use its powers to give myself a chance at surviving this curse. I will have to die once. I have to leave this prime reality to the humans and only keep the other prime reality that Markus never appeared in for the Myriad races.”
“What the humans choose to do after that is their problem. I do not hate them. I will just leave them alone to wage war on themselves forever.”
“Once I gain the power to travel through time, I will sever humanity from the timeline forever. They will probably do the same when Devinn reaches my level in the future. This senseless war will have to end and I will become the true leader of the Myriad races. Oh.. I see…it worked well…good. With Devinn digesting my power, I will be connected to him from the other reality…that Markus will reappear again in their future…what a troublemaker…Oh…he is sick as well…he is but a remnant will of a human who lost himself in time. ”
“Oh that Devinn will choose to do that…what a crazy fellow. Killing the true dragon before it enters this reality and creates the twelve dragon races, the ancestors of the Myriad races… he is crazier than me…he cannot bring himself to follow my lead, but his choice is worse than mine but in the end he will not be able to resist.”
“It is not like Devinn and I will find it impossible to see the repercussions of our actions through time.”
***
Alwyn was doing his best to not get caught inside the casual ripples created by Aragil. As soon as he thought he was close to landing a punch, the smiling Aragil would just counter with a punch of his own.
When he managed to teleport away, he would just find Aragil waiting for him on the other side.
It wasn’t even a fight.
Alwyn and Devinn had long guessed that Aragil was just playing around with them. He had the chance to kill them more than once ago but did not do it.
Devinn was wondering why he even had the idea of stealing Aragil’s power in the first place.
***
Aragil was counting the number of realities that had been created during the fight. He was basically using the fight to synchronize with his other selves that were in the same situation. Everything had to happen at the same time.
“Now is the time…”
On his eyeless face, two eyelids appeared and opened revealing two green flames that immediately winked out. Two eyeballs glowing with a silver light instantly appeared.
Alwyn’s dragon body suddenly came to a halt as if mesmerized.
Devinn was the first to wake up from his dazed state and could only watch Alwyin’s dragon mouth swallowing the experssionless Aragil.
Devinn immediately retracted his dragon transformation and left Alwyn’s body along with Aragil in his stomach.
“I wish you good luck on your future, Devinn, this power of mine is not something you shoud’ve coveted. I was the one who led you all to it. Forgive me.” Aragil’s voice sounded in Devinn’s head.
“It had happened this easily?” thought Devinn.
As he devoured Aragil body and soul, his mind continuously expanded. Soon, he found that other Devinns were doing the same in different places. He immediately understood what was happening. The infinite Devinns all looked at themselves. They could gradually feel that their numbers were increasing.
Infinite realities.
Infinite worlds.
“No this is not what I wanted.” Devinn's fear had finally showed itself. He said to Aragil: “I do not want it, take it away.” An echo of his voice was heard as all his selves said the same thing.
“I will take it away, but you will have to die.” All the Aragils in the other realities except the one in this reality said the same thing.
Devinn said nothing more but his hatred against the Myriad races had reached a terrifying degree.
He understood what Aragil’s plan was.
Aragil planned to use his ability to eat anything to eat all the realities themselves except for the one he left the humans and the Myriad races.
After eating each reality, all his bodies will fuse into one. There was no telling what kind of strength he would have when things reached that stage. He would keep doing the same thing for each reality that was created afterwards forever.
It is his only cure to his ever expanding mind he had to feed it to remain himself. By keeping only one reality, his mind only has that one reality to stay in and see.
“Are you not afraid that I will go back in time and kill you?” Devinn asked before he got a vision of what was going to happen.
He had entirely stolen Aragil’s power and memories.
He started muttering to himself: “Alwyn will become a time traveler when he reaches the cosmic level… I will become like Aragil in the future and be forced to eat realities to remain myself…the Myriad races…humanity…the true dragon…”
“No there must be another way…I see…We must kill the true dragon first.”
His connection with his infinite other selves had disappeared. Aragil had taken over their souls. They had nothing to do with him anymore.
"All those realities are going to disappear in Aragil's stomach."
