《Netherwyrm god》29--- Erling, the arcane master---end of book two

An old man wearing a scintillating cloak was standing in the void his eyes closed.
“What a wonderful cloak. I wonder what it took to create it. These two new arcane apprentices of mine must have stumbled upon it in an unknown world.” He thought.
He was wearing the breach cloak sacrificed by Alwyn to be able to teleport to the Human Everworld.
The circumstances of creating the cloak were quite unique. It required a small universe and its infinite realities as well as Aragil’s ever expanding mind’s eye to have a chance to create such an object.
The cloak was just a portal to all existing realities of a universe. The portal was a breach created by Aragil’s expanding power as it tried to access the other realities.
Since Devinn had eaten all of the universes except for one, the remaining breach was trapped in the first and last reality it was created.
The only use of the cloak was to access other realities as well as being invisible to the reality you were in, to anyone, as long as you remained inside of it.
The old man was only aware of the invisibility that the cloak bestowed as he could not interact with other realities. It was a power that only Aragil, Devinn and Alwyn had.
“At my level, no object can catch my eye but this invisibility is even applicable to a being such as me. I wish I knew the recipe to create it...they even added a huge amount of mana... sigh... And they only asked for a simple teleportation to the Human Everworld...I should thank them properly in the future. It came just in time. I was wondering how I was going to infiltrate the Infinite Hells of the Demon alliance without creating a disturbance...” the old man thought.
“I should prepare first. I have to acquire the Totem of sin for my future ascension to the next level of the arcane. I am tired of just seeing myself as an arcane apprentice...”
Hundreds of years later.
“Hum?... Divine energy? How can they use it as a sacrifice? Only the oldest true dragons can wield this power source.” The old man reappeared outside in the void in a disheveled state.
“I have yet to acquire the Empyrean aura and still run on mana, life energy, emotional energy and mystical blood. Nothing as powerful as Divine energy.” said the shocked old man as he fused with all the energy that was being sent to him.
“This feeling...” He laughed in a crazed manner.
In the meantime, Devinn was sacrificing divine energy as he fought the spectre, Dorian.
The receiver of the sacrifice, Erling, was now rejoicing.
“I did not even have to steal it from the true dragons that it was delivered to me so easily.”

All this time, Erling, had yet to acquire divine energy nor the Empyrean aura, but all the different power sources that he used put him on a higher level than any who used just mana. He could even fight the dragon king to a standstill.
“This is good. It is finally a good thing that I created all those worlds of faith. They brought up two capable apprentices.”
He had finally fused with the divine energy and could now instantly regenerate it.
“With Divine energy, I should now be able to steal the Totem of the monarch of sin.”
Years later as Devinn sacrificed demonic essence to rebuild the destroyed universes...
“What can’t they do?” Erling asked himself in a dejected manner as he felt like he had been left in the dust by his own disciples.
He was holding a weird looking statuette with two horns and wings.
“They just sent me demonic essence before I could fuse with the Totem of the demon alliance I just stole.”
Totems were the personification of a power source.
The totem of Sin that he had stolen from the monarch of sin supplied demonic essence to every newborn of the demonic family as they were only born with the power of fear. The demons only inherited the physique of the demonic essence holder, their ancestors, but the power source, demonic essence, had to be bestowed or acquired.
“I still need Empyrean aura. I wonder... can they deliver it to me as well?...”
“I will be shameless enough and wait.”
Erling chose to wait.
As his prayers were answered, he acquired it as well.
Alwyn had sacrificed it as a price to fuse empyrean aura with the souls of his family and friends, imparting them a new powersource.
“I see...”
“They found a way to create it in a few years, yet I spent a lifetime searching for it.”
“I really was left behind.”
“How can I possibly repay them?”
“Thanks to them I’ve now become the strongest being in this corner of the world.”
As he mumbled to himself, all seven powers inside his soul churned.
Mana: rudimentary powersource of all lifeforms.
Divine energy : Higher form of mana. The force of nature at your fingertips.
Emotional Energy: Emotions as food for more power. Either your own emotions or someone else’s.
Mystical blood: Higher form of Emotional energy. Mystical blood and emotional energy being the power sources of the berserkers known for their enormous physical prowess.
Life energy : Burning your own life energy for more power. Eating someone’s life energy for more lifespan.
Empyrean aura: Higher form of faith. Grants physical boost as well as a powerful power source for spells. Stronger than divine energy.

Demonic essence : Higher form of fear. Grants physical boost. Power source stronger than divine energy.
“No one has ever reached this level.” He said as he tried hard to keep his dormant hatred from taking over and demonize him.
“Fuse.”
All seven power sources fused together.
“I’ve been waiting for a long time.”
A new power source was created.
“I have no idea what it does, but I’ll start by naming it : Arcane energy.”
“My new blood...”
He was restraining his body from changing too much. Especially into a demon.
He had become a young man with gray eyes.
“I will call it: The arcane bloodline.”
He closed his eyes and stood in the void.
He opened all his senses and saw, heard, felt and touched everything.
“Twenty-six Everworlds. This is my limit for now.”
“If i wished for it, I could reshape this part of the world as I wish.”
As he watched the twenty-six Everworlds, a new thought cropped up : The demons are useless.
Immediately after, every demon present in the twenty-six universes dissapeared.
All killed instantly.
Devinn was the only survivor.
“I guess I just ended the war on my own.” Erling was still euphoric as he delved in his newfound power.
“No...” He regained his senses.
“If i can kill anything with just a stray thought...”
The idea scared him.
“I have to find a way to kill myself before it’s too late.”
He knew that he could not stop himself from thinking.
His dream of becoming stronger turned him into his worst nightmare.
The demons could be killed but what if another thought of his annihilated the humans as well.
All it took was one stray thought to erase the demons from the twenty-six Everworlds he could see.
A new thought cropped up in his mind :
“They helped me reach this level. Maybe they can help me control this new power of mine.”
He was thinking of Alwyn and Devinn.
The twins suddennly appeared in front of him.
Devinn was the first to take a defensive pose as he prepared to attack.
Alwyn was too afraid to think at the moment.
“Fear not. I am the one who summoned you.” Erling weakly said. His mental state was in chaos as he feared himself.
A strange power washed over the duo. They felt even calmer than usual.
Devinn was the first to notice the cloak Erling was wearing and asked: “Are you Erling, the Arcane apprentice? ”
“It is I and I desperately need your help.” Erling then explained his predicament.
As Devinn listened, fear started flowing in his veins. Knowing that his life could end in a second was something that his mind could not contain.
Alwyn was so scared that he thought he was having a nightmare. They were both heading to the Divine dragon Everworld with Dann, Jen and Dorian to investigate and sudennly found themselves in front of a weird looking young man.
They both understood that they were at the mercy of this Erling.
They had no more thoughts of running away as they heard the pitiful end of the true demons that terrorized the Everwolrds.
“I am afraid that the only help you seek is death.” Devinn solemnly said.
“That power of yours needs a conduit and it’s you. All seven powers fusing together just created the ultimate power source. Whether you like it or not, you’ve become your own power. It will do whatever it likes whenever you think of something.” Devinn said.
“You are saying that as long as I think, i am a danger to humanity?...Hehe...” A hopeless Erling said.
“I cannot die unless i wish for it, but why should I die when I have so much left to do...sigh...” Erling said before he closed his eyes and made a wish. His eyes flashed in a grey light.
“I see...” Erling said.
“I hereby wish for this power of mine to be transferred to you.”
“The Arcane bloodline shall belong to Alwyn.”
“Devinn. You shall recieve the arcane energy as your new power.”
Soon after, the duo was imbued with power as Erling slowly turned old and started dissipating.
“Why?” Devinn ignored what was happening to him and asked.
“I just wished to see the possible futures. In one future, I was the only one alive. This is the start of the other future. A future in which there is no more blood on my hands.” A serene Erling said.
“Why choose us?” Devinn asked. He added: “You just pushed the responsibility on someone else.”
“Hehe...I was wondering how I should repay you for your indirect help. This is my thanks...”Erling said before he dissipated.
The duo was left dumbstruck.
Alwyn’s Netherwyrm bloodline had found a new power to evolve. His body bloated in and out as he appeared panicked.
Devinn watched him with an astonished and amused face as he said: “Looks like whatever he saw in the future did not include your aversion for the Netherwyrm bloodline. I feel sorry for you.”
Devinn watched as a Grey white dragon filled the void. It spanned for millions of killometers.
A thundering voice could be heard cursing in the empty void.
