《Netherwyrm god》52- Baryon

Devinn’s arcane energy was an accidental product of seven power sources being forcefully fused together into one.
Arcane energy and bloodline recipe
1-Mana: rudimentary power source of all lifeforms.
2-Divine energy: Higher form of mana. The force of nature at your fingertips.
3-Emotional Energy: Emotions as food for more power. Either your own emotions or someone else’s.
4-Mystical blood: a higher form of Emotional energy. Mystical blood and emotional energy being the power sources of the berserkers known for their enormous physical prowess.
5-Life energy: Burning your own life energy for more power. Eating someone’s life energy for more lifespan.
6-Empyrean aura: Higher form of faith. Grants physical boost as well as a powerful power source for spells. Stronger than divine energy.
7-Demonic essence: Higher form of fear. Grants physical boost. Power source stronger than divine energy.
That power source eventually grew to become something that could topple the already established origin energy system.
His only power was to have his every wish granted and was not constrained by any law. It can be said that the only law he wields is the Law he wishes for.
Just like origin energy, the arcane energy was also an element. The only difference was that Devinn never had to comprehend anything.
He used his power with caution and ever since the arcane energy had gained its own will, he was even more cautious.
He thought that he could use the arcane will to assist him in combat.
It worked.
But what if it evolved further as he fused with more God puppets?
His only fear was that the will would replace him in his own body by becoming fully independent.
“I will never betray you, Master.” The will once said. Of course, it could read his thoughts. It scared him even more.

As he and Lin fought the army of gods, the palace and mountain had long been destroyed.
Lin’s life energy made sure that she could not be killed.
She healed every wound she received instantly.
She also had the strange power of draining the gods’ life out of them if they were unlucky enough to be close to her.

The Gods understood what kind of threat she was to them and kept a safe distance while attacking.
Devinn on the other hand awkwardly wished for light energy to aid in fighting. It was his cover to use the light element.
He did not have an external source of arcane energy to use as it had been flushed into the creation of the god puppet he had fused with.
He used his own reserves and made sure to wish for origin energy undulations to be released every time he attacked.
“Arcane will, cover for me. Make sure that the origin energy undulations are released in time.” Devinn ordered.
“Yes, Master.”The robotic will said.
The fact that his power source could ignore origin energy could not be seen by anyone.
Alpha had informed him that all the gods dreamed of being able to escape the shackles of origin energy.
It frustrated the gods that had reached a state in which they had their own power sources but still needed origin energy to use it. Not forgetting the royal family that was made of origin Gods who wielded the origin element.
If Devinn was found out, he would be hunted down and forced to share the legacy of the Arcane path.
Devinn could feel that Alpha was becoming more impatient by each passing second and was begging Alwyn to teleport outside and obliterate the army of gods.
This army of gods was only cannon fodder and was only meant to keep them in place.
Alpha and Alwyn could not show themselves.
If they did, a true war with the king would really start.
Kane could not fight with his full power as well. His Netherwyrm sword had Alpha’s legacy as well as being a dual sword spirit.
The entire team of four had something to hide and time was not on their side.
Lin and Devinn killed as many gods as they could, but more kept teleporting in their surroundings.
They could not see the end of the fight.
“Let me end this once and for all.” Kane who had just appeared out of nowhere said.
Devinn understood what he meant and warned: “You plan on hiding near the Underworld coffin once you use your full power.”

“Yes...You should both head to Azura. I’m sure Lin knows where she is hiding...See you at the Underground Coffin...If I can make it out alive.” Kane said as he let his power flow out of his newly acquired body that collapsed under the enormous output of a multicolored power.
All that was left was Kane multicolored spirit body and a multicolored sword.
The netherwyrm little dragon came flying out of the sword with a serious look. It shed its transparent skin for a multicolored one as well.
Kane then looked at the army and said: “You came here looking for Alpha’s legacy. Well...as you can see...I have it.”
He flew in a random direction and the entire army crazily followed behind him.
Lin and Devinn stayed still feeling like they were not worth a fart compared to an Alpha's elemental legacy.
Lin then said: “I know where she might be hiding. Follow me.”
***
The current King, Darius, was looking at the fight on a transparent screen.
The moment Kane appeared and showed the same multicolored light as Alpha, Darius and his generals were out of words.
“Dual sword spirits. Alpha gave his legacy to a treasure even rarer than himself.” Darius said.
“Sir. It’s time to move on him.” Arun his left general said.
Darius said: “Not yet. We’re after Alpha... remember? He must be somewhere outside of my domain but I am sure he will show up when his daughter turns up missing. He will come knocking at my door himself...He also just brought us another treasure... That multi-elemental sword...it must become mine as well..”
The multicolored staff hovering before him released a ripple and a shadow emerged from it saying: “I advise you to not pick a fight you cannot win.”
Darius derisively said: “And why should I listen to you?”
The shadow chuckled and returned inside the multicolored staff without answering.
The right general, Helios, then thought: “He tries to order his majesty around. He’s just lucky that he lives inside a multi-elemental god treasure.”
The multi elemental god treasure was the staff refined out of Alpha’s slain true body. It was on the same level as the Netherwyrm sword.
The strange shadow was the treasure spirit born of the staff just like Udumu of the lance and the little netherwyrm dragon of the Netherwyrm sword.
The treasure spirit of the staff could be considered a multi-elemental as well. Its level was at the god level just like Kane.
The fact that it was given birth by the staff itself, a multi-elemental weapon, granted the treasure spirit dominion over all elements, without having to comprehend anything at all. It was yet another treasure that could cheat its way to the god realm without doing anything at all.
It could be said that the treasure spirit was the master of the staff belonging to King Darius.
It had tried to flee the moment it was created but the fights always ended in a stalemate.
The multi-elemental treasure spirit was also in control of origin energy just like Alpha, Alwyn, Kane and the king, but since it was fighting alone against the King and his generals, it could only swallow its anger and submit.
The treasure spirit called itself Baryon.
Inside a multicolored space, a faint silhouette could be seen. It was Baryon.
He was thinking: “I knew he was alive from the very beginning...I made sure that his daughter would be safe by manipulating the king into sealing her here in the palace where I can keep an eye on her...Somehow, I feel compelled to do this bloodline’s bidding...Sigh...only if I kill the progenitor will I become independent...But how can I kill something that I’m compelled to protect forever...If the King kills Alpha and all his bloodline for me...hehehe...I can see a future where there would be no one left to stop me...Unknown variables always change the future though...I must make sure the elemental bloodline dies with Alpha for good...”

Ashes of the Primordial
With the upcoming shutdown of the servers for Ragnarok Games’ deep dive VRMMO, ‘Ashes of the Primordial’, the player log of those online for the final night was depressingly empty-looking. A revolutionary level of realism drove Ashes to the forefront of the games market, billions of players enjoying their journey to power and glory as an avatar of their own creation. The final enemy of the game-world defeated, the company announced, in line with their stance from launch, that they would be shutting down the game exactly six months after the defeat of Sutr, the final boss. Ammanas, the player responsible for Sutr's defeat, stays online until the end. However, as the countdown hits 0, the start-hub of his dive rig (what would typically greet a forced ejection from a game) was no where to be seen and instead darkness greets him as he fades into unconsciousness. Awakening to unfamiliar sights in an unfamiliar body, one which turns out to be a lot more familiar than he first thought, now he must figure out where, how, why and what to do with the new world he finds himself in. Author note: I don't own the cover, just something found through a google search. This is also my first story and the MC will basically be unimaginably OP yet never really utilising his full power. He just wants to find somewhere to fit in to the new world he finds himself in and despite both his nature as a loner and his interests he will find himself forming connections with the denizens of this new realm. Hope you enjoy

Mortis Operandi 1- New Hire
Thank you for reading, I have to start with that. The feedback and encouragement from RoyalRoad users helped me finish my book. I left the unedited version up as I worked on editing and making it a little more polished. However the time has come for me to put it on Amazon and hopefully let other people read the story. If you have Kindle unlimited you should be able to read the story there. If you just want to order an ebook version you can do that as well. I should have a paperback version coming up. https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B07T46B4NM Again thank you for reading and helping me on this journey. It hasn't ended however, my second book which I'm hoping to do well enough that reading the first isn't completely necessary, is still being worked on here, https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/24562/mortis-operandi-2--terms-and-conditions . Any feedback, comments, even critism is welcome as I work on giving you the best version of my story. I'll leave the first two chapters up here, unless Amazon says otherwise. There should be enough differences to avoid issues though. THANK YOU! Thank you! thank you! __________________________________ Adventurers enter dungeons every day. Battling evil monsters, defying dangerous terrain, triumphing over devious traps... ... but none of them ever ask why? That arrow trap, who reloads it? The pitfall trap, who cleans out the bodies and sharpens the spikes? What if the grates get clogged, where will the blood and gore drain? When you are trying to study ancient lore or plan on conquering a kingdom, you don't want to worry about all that. You just want peace. Mortis Operandi is a different kind of company. One that celebrates diversity. One that celebrates value in individuals. With flexible pay and plenty of advancement opportunities, it is a company that knows its workers are it's most valuable asset. As they design, build, and install traps, rooms, obstacles, and repair they are a one stop shop. When a possible recall sets events into motion, the company must pivot in a new paradigm of full circle Dungeon service. The Goblin Eft No-toes has a solution that entwines ex-adventurer Elric into the business of death. *Note the above statements are forward looking statements. In no way do they promote or suggest that Mortis Operandi will project greater sales or revenue. Understand that investing in a company does involve some risks, and possibly much rewards.
