《Netherwyrm god》53- Bitter fight

Kane sent a rainbow light containing all the elements he controlled to the area around him. With him at the center, the rainbow light exploded outwards and took with it the lives of many gods.
Kane then looked at the little dragon and said: “Netherwyrm, feel free to help anytime...”
The little Netherwyrm dragon rolled its eyes thinking: “You just killed half of them. What do you need me for?”
Both it and Kane had chosen to sacrifice themselves to buy Devinn and Lin some time to find Alpha’s daughter, Azura.
Being dual sword spirits, they knew their fate should they be discovered. With the addition of Alpha’s legacy on them, they were a rare treasure among rare treasures.
Kane thought: “The king has probably changed his target. As long as Alpha doesn’t show himself, I will be the only thing the king will want to acquire.”
A rainbow-colored sword was sent flying as it killed every god in its way.
The multicolored Netherwyrm dragon that now looked like a mountain killed gods left and right.
Kane was amazed at how these gods who stood at the peak of their world were so weak that they could not withstand a sword strike from the netherwyrm sword or a punch from the spirit bodies of Kane and the dragon.
“How did Alpha lose then?” was the question Kane asked himself as he fought. Alpha’s comprehension over the elements made him practically invincible against anyone. The physical buff gained from so many elements alone was something that no normal god could withstand.
It did not take long for the Gods to be completely eradicated.
As Kane and his dragon stood there wondering what to do, the King arrived clapping hands and saying: “Impressive. I want that sword even more now.”
Darius arrived without the slightest ripple being revealed.
The next second, his generals arrived. Arun and Helios.
Kane said: “King Darius I presume.” He still had his eternal smile plastered on his face. The dragon, however, adopted a solemn face as it looked at the enemies.
Darius did not answer but said: “Will you surrender or do you really want to make me waste my time capturing you.”
Kane said: “I want to find out how easy it really is for you to capture me. Forget about us surrendering.”
“You seem to forget that you’re merely an object.” Darius said. He took a fighting pose and said: “ Arun. Helios. I will activate the / Origin seal /, you know what to do.”
“Yes, sir.” Both generals said at the same time.
The king did not move but the Origin energy in the everworld was sucked away as if it had never existed in first place.
Kane had a derisive smile: “I can do the same as well. Besides, I still have my own reserves of origin energy. You’ll be dead before I run out.” Inwardly, he was cursing the king for stealing the origin energy before he could do the same.
The king had taken the initiative under his nose.
“You are mistaken on one thing here...you are fated to land in my hands one way or another.” Darius said as his generals moved at the same time.
Darius was an origin god that controlled the origin element.
Kane, being a multi-elemental, the origin element was included in the elements he controlled as well. He also had the upper hand in this fight as he controlled elements that could allow him to attack.

All the king could do was endlessly supply origin energy to his generals while Kane relied on his reserves. It was a dangerous situation one could find himself in.
The generals arrived in front of Kane at the same time.
Arun released a domain of ice in which blue snowflakes gracefully fell towards Kane at the speed of light.
Kane felt that his very soul would freeze if he touched any of the snowflakes.
The other general, Helios made the clouds churn as a red lightning was seen following the blue snowflakes striking towards Kane.
Kane felt that the red lightning was as dangerous to him as the blue snowflakes were.
It was all happening too fast for him to find a way to counter both attacks.
The netherwyrm dragon chose to bear the burden of the attacks to gain some time for Kane. Its giant body flapped its wings and went to meet the enemies attack head-on.
Darius then screamed out: “Do not kill the dragon.”
Both generals looked at each other and then stopped attacking and hoped that the dragon would survive the first attack.
The giant multicolored dragon then roared and an almost endless amount of shields appeared in front of it.
Every shield was effortlessly destroyed by the blue snowflakes and red lightning.
Every time shields were destroyed, the netherwyrm roared and other shields appeared.
An endless battle was seen between the very first attack and the dragon.
Eventually, the dragon’s reserves of origin energy depleted and with the origin energy of the surroundings being under the King’s control, the fight was over for it.
Kane was almost brought to madness as he felt that the dragon would die if he did nothing.
He understood at that very moment how Alpha had lost. He was alone against multiple origin element wielders siphoning away the origin energy in the surroundings and giving their allies an unlimited amount of origin energy to use.
Kane screamed as his multicolored body grew to reach the height of a few thousand kilometers.
The netherwyrm sword in his hands grew as well. It was even longer than him.
He sent multiple sword attacks towards the incoming attacks. Those that he could not stop landed on his gigantic body forcing him to retreat. He retrieved the dragon and started fleeing.
“Just one attack from my two generals and he is forced to flee...well I ate all the origin energy around...if he had access to it, he would have been a pain to deal with.” Darius said as he looked at the fleeing giant. He added: “Do not let him use teleportation. His giant body must have burned most of his origin energy. Keep the pressure on but do not kill them.”
“Devinn. Lin. Any update on Azura’s whereabouts?” Kane sent mentally to Devinn.
“No. We can’t find her...The king must have gotten to her before us...Alpha is sure to be mad when we tell him that his daughter is missing...Need any help on your end?” Devinn answered.
“F**k, we were destined to fail from the very beginning. The King is after me and I might not be able to flee back to the underworld coffin. You two just retreat before it’s too late.” Kane warned.
“On my way.” Devinn said.
“NO...Devinn. Did you hear what I just said? RETREAT...” a frantic Kane said.

He kept screaming in his head but Devinn ignored him.
The second round of attacks from the two generals was arriving as he was preparing to teleport.
He was never given the time to teleport nor time to breathe as him and his dragon were attacked from all directions with the same blue snowflakes and red lightning.
The void outside the planet was transformed into a battlefield.
Kane could helplessly see his reserves of origin energy being emptied by each of his defensive attacks.
The netherwyrm dragon was unconscious from the loss of origin energy.
Kane had reached his limit as well.
As he fell into unconsciousness as well, he heard a voice saying: “See? You needed me...”
“Devinn...you cannot win this...run..”A weak Kane said.
“Just go to sleep.” Said Devinn as he teleported Kane, the netherwyrm sword and the dragon into the absolute unity prime reality in which there was origin energy for them to recuperate.
Devinn turned around and looked at the King and two generals who looked at him with weird faces.
To them, A human with the same exact features as a treasure spirit was unheard of. They were also wondering what kind of being they were up against.
They knew at first glance that Devinn did not have anything to do with origin energy even though he looked completely human.
The King felt that something was amiss and asked : “What are you?” For an origin god who controlled the origin element like him, not feeling origin energy on a human was impossible. Yet, it was happening right in front of him.
“I am human, just like you.” Devinn simply said as he flew even closer to the generals who were wondering if it was wise to attack a being they knew nothing about.
The king then poured more origin energy inside the generals and ordered: “Attack.”
Darius did not want to be right. If Devinn was found to be a being that escaped his control, he would have to do everything he could to kill him.
If it was found out that there was an element that could escape the use of origin energy, the world of gods would be sent into an uproar and him, the king, would lose all power and he would not be as feared as he was the moment his denizens knew that they could choose another power that was not origin energy.
Devinn also had no intention of hiding his arcane energy.
“Sir...you do not have enough arcane energy. The last fight almost depleted all of it.” The voice of the arcane will said.
“Can we convert Origin energy into arcane energy?” Devinn asked. He had the impression that the arcane will understood his powers better than him.
“No, but the arcane bloodline can eat any power source for a physical enhancement for a brief moment.” The arcane will said.
“Good. That’s enough for me.” Devinn said.
He stopped a hundred meters before the generals and the king.
As soon as the generals attacked, Devinn prepared. He waited until the attacks were close to him and said: “Self sacrificial art.”
Time stopped. The blue snowflakes and red lightning stopped right before Devinn’s palm.
It was as if the snowflakes and lightning had changed masters and were now under Devinn’s control.
Slowly, under the astonished faces of the king and his generals, the blue snowflakes and red lightning turned into blue particles that formed a blue fist-sized core of origin energy in Devinn’s hand.
Devinn then absorbed the core. He said: “Arcane will. Store the origin energy for now. We’ll use it later.”
“Yes, sir.”
The king and his generals were trying to comprehend what had just happened.
The generals madly attacked as the king kept supplying them origin energy, but their efforts ended the same way. In Devinn’s palm.
Arun then said: “Maybe he can be hurt physically.”
When he made sure that the king could not hear them, Helios then shrugged his shoulders saying: “I have no idea how he creates those blue cores of origin energy nor where they all ended up but if you ask me, this is exactly what we’ve been waiting for. We can finally see a new era before us.”
“You mean the ultimate power source. The one above origin energy.” Arun said.
“Yes. He has yet to show it but I think that being able to treat origin energy like it’s nothing should be a prerequisite to the use of the ultimate power source. It’s hard to believe that it really exists.” Helios said.
Devinn was drunk with the pure origin energy he had yet to use.
He did not expect for his self-sacrificial art to work so well and even purify the origin energy.
He knew that this particular magic only worked against weaker enemies or enemies of the same realm.
It had to be a quantity of energy he could contain himself and his arcane bloodline that was used to arcane energy found the pure origin energy of less quality than the arcane energy allowing him to store more of it.
“Do we keep following that brat’s orders then?” Arun asked. He was talking about Darius.
“Yes. We have no choice for now. When the time comes, we will naturally deal with him. Let’s just fight this strange human for a while and see his true limit. I trust that the both of us will be enough to force him to reveal a few of his trump cards.” Helios said.
“Alright. Let’s use our physical strength this time.” Arun said as a blue ice armor appeared on his body.
Blue smoke was released by the blue armor. That same smoke froze space itself. It created a domain that spanned for kilometers in which the temperature dramatically dropped.
“I see you’re taking this seriously.” Said Helios and a red armor that released red tendrils of lightning that created a lightning storm that overlapped itself onto the Arun domain.
“Anything for the new era where the origin gods are no longer our lords.” Arun said as he departed towards Devinn.
Helios watched Arun departing with a smile. He thought: “Well said my friend but there must be a king either way. All the gods may hate origin element gods but they are a necessary evil. At the end of the day, we need a capable ruler.”
