BOOOM!
Titus continued to attack Fionn, his moves becoming more ferocious by the second, his every attack aimed at critical points.
Fionn countered each of Titus's attacks with one of his own, the golden lightning around him crackling intensely, his spear flowing like water, but Titus still had a slight advantage because he was airborne. With each attack, he pushed Fionn a couple of steps backward, demonstrating his superiority.
Intending to gain absolute control of the battle, Titus materialised another sword on his empty hand and began to dual wielding both his swords. The new sword, like his other sword, was entirely made of ice from hilt to tip. As Titus began dual wielding his swords, the battle tempo increased dramatically.
He began leading the flow of the battle with his attacks, which were like a wild tempest. Fionn, who was on the receiving end of these attacks, could barely keep up with the flow of the battle; previously, he was just taking a few steps back, but now he was practically being sent flying after every combo Titus executed.
"Damn! This guy is too op, I can't go on like this anymore. It's time to level up "Fionn groaned as he broke through the ice seal Titus had formed around him.
Looking at Titus, who was closing in on him at breakneck speed, Fionn shifted his spear to his right hand and summoned his desert eagle avatar in his left. The desert eagle appeared in his hand with a bright flash of light, emitting a metallic radiance. As Fionn grabbed the gun, he noticed that it had become stronger than before, possibly due to the strengthening of his soul in the Chaos plane. The change is not as significant as the AK, but it is still considerable; the exact extent will be known only after use.

Fionn lifted the gun and pointed it at Titus, who was only a few metres away, eager to know the gun's exact strength after the upgrade.
BANG! BANG!
With a loud noise that echoed throughout the arena, Fionn pulled the trigger on the gun, releasing two blasts of energy aimed at different parts of Titus' body. As the energy blasts escaped the gun, they left a green trail behind them, moving towards Titus at a speed too fast for the human eye to keep track of.
Titus was surprised by the strange avatar and barely avoided the first energy blast. With no time to dodge the second, he attempted to block it with his sword.
CLANG! SHATTER!
When the sword made contact with the gunshot, it shattered instantly, with no resistance. The gunshot continued unabated, striking Titus' armour but failing to penetrate it.
Titus looked at Fionn, stunned, and found it difficult to believe what had just happened. Fionn was taken aback as well and stared in awe at the gun in his hand.
On the side of Judging panel.
Unlike the audience, who appeared irritated because they couldn't get a good look at the fight due to the fog, the professors had their gaze fixed on the stage as if they could see everything clearly.
"What kind of Avatar is that?" Floyd asked, addressing his question to the elderly professor.
"I don't know. I've never seen or heard of such an enlightenment avatar before. It's strange that a person with such amazing skill with a spear could awaken such a strange avatar "The elderly professor made a remark, his face showing his puzzlement.
"I think it's quite good," Prescilla said, her face showing interest in the novelty.
"No matter how good that avatar is, if he only has this much to show, it'll be nearly impossible for him to stand against Titus for long," Floyd calmly said, his gaze Fixed at Fionn.

"That is undeniably true. He has the bloodline of Khons and can be considered the incarnation of the moon god himself "Prescilla stated.
On the arena.
Titus looked down at the shattered ice swords in his hands, then at Fionn, who was surprised by the gun in his hand.
SHRIEK!
His owl-like face gradually took on an enraged expression. With a loud shriek, the mana within his body erupted like an active volcano. He shot towards the sky, his wings flapping furiously, the fog in the arena concealing his tracks.
RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
After Titus vanished in the fog, the ice in the arena began to crack and slowly rise into the air, as if drawn by a magnet. The ice that had risen into the air began to revolve around the arena, forming an ice tornado.

Bitter
The story of a girl who finds her life is not what she wanted. So she gets another one. Schedule: Story has been completed. Book One is available free on Amazon and EPUB. Books Two to Five are out now. Final Book out soon. Chapters will be around 500-1000 words. This will not change so if you don't like reading very short chapters wait till the end of the week or even end of the month. This many chapters a week isn't easy to pull off so please bear that in mind. This is a VRMMORPG story, but the ones I've read tend to use VR as an excuse to get into a fantasy world and then don't really play up the game aspect other than pulling up a status screen every now and then. To me, MMOs are about more than the fantasy setting. Bugs, exploits, devs who don't understand their own game, OP classes, over the top nerfs, p2w, ridiculous RNG, cash shop fiasco, lockboxes, raging players, broken mechanics, limited bag space, tedious crafting and above all that, a company trying to squeeze money out if its playerbase while pretending they're just in the business of having fun. Of course, then there's the orcs and elves. This story is about finding yourself in a completely immersive fantasy game, but it's also about what a game like that would really be like.

A Standard Model of Magic
The world ended, and magic came back. The part our parents didn't expect, was for Science to break on reentry. Twenty years after the apocalypse, with our nations dismantled and hidden continents unearthed, a new generation has grown up in the wreckage of 21st century civilization. For us, the fantastic is at our doorstep and we have had no choice but to fight back. Meanwhile, the laws of nature bend and break at the whims of immortal gods, all of which are now dead and none of which are content to stay that way. But we cannot afford to give up. We are the stewards of a rewritten century, in which a little luck and a whole lot of magic might make anything possible – maybe even a world better than the one we lost. A Standard Model of Magic is a complete overhaul of my old story A Storm in the Fall. I'm afraid I was unhappy with the LitRPG elements, which I don't mind reading, but I apparently loath writing. Sorry. Once I'd made the choice to decouple the story from the OF that inspired it and reconfigure the magic system to my satisfaction, little of the original plotline survived. I will be salvaging most of my original characters, and I will keep some elements which are endemic to the genre, but that is all. I don't have an update schedule which I can commit to yet, but I will try to maintain a weekly pace.(This is currently RoyalRoad exclusive, since I'm lazy. If you find it posted elsewhere, it wasn't me and it wasn't with permission) If you're interested, I've set up a discord.

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
