Shawn and Will walked to the headmaster office. " Shawn, did your shipment ever come in?" The headmaster asked with a smile. "Yes, it just came in yesterday, Kyle," Shawn replied with a smile. "Oh, who is this?" Kyle asked as he looked at Will, not with revulsion but shock. "This is my son, Will. He wishes to join the academy." Shawn said with a proud smile. "I can let him take the exam today, but he will only be allowed in if he has the required score," Kyle said seriously. He took his job as headmaster seriously. "Oh, I almost forgot. Here is a letter of recommendation from the academy I attended." Will said as he handed over Headmaster Heizer's letter to Kyle. "Wait, you were a paladin in training at THE Lunsford academy?" Kyle asked with surprise. His surprise was well deserved considering Lunsford's reputation. "Yeah, things didn't work out there, and I wanted to be closer to home," Will said with a chuckle. "The only thing we need to test is your MME Rank. Let's go get you tested." The headmaster said as he got up and led Shawn and Will to the gym. When they arrived there was a class in the gym already exercising. The headmaster then started talking to the instructor. While Will was waiting on the instructor to get the Cube, he was constantly stared at. A few of the students in the gym started whispering about Will, but after his mysterious change, all his senses have been heightened. " Who is the furry guy?" "What is that furry guy?" I know, why don't we just call him a Furry." Their voices didn't contain traces of malice like the ones at his junior academy or the ones at Lunsford academy. When Will heard this his ears started twitching and he struggled to hold in his laughter. A Furry? Well, I sorta like it actually. If anyone asks me what I am then from now on I will say a Furry. Will thought this as he watched the instructor that left come back with the Cube. The instructor then proceeded to hook the cube up directly into the monitor in the gym. After the instructor finished, the headmaster walked over to where Shawn and Will were standing. "Are you ready Will?" The headmaster asked with a smile, completely different from how the others at Lunsford academy treated Will. " As ready as I will ever be," Will replied as he walked to the cube and put his hands on the cube. The entire gym went quiet. Will turned around and was completely shocked. How did this happen? On the huge monitor in the gym was a rank that no one in the gym has seen before, not even the headmaster. Will scored an SS Rank. The entire gym erupted into questions and whispers. " How is this possible?" " Seriously, what is this person." " How is this fair?" Their voices were filled with shock and awe for Will's strength. The headmaster then raised his hand, silencing everyone. " This is Willenstark Kraft. He will be training under me from now on. He will also be the senior to all of you, including the instructors. He will hopefully be the pride of this academy in the future, so do your best to make him feel welcomed." The headmaster said as he led Shawn and Will back to his office. " I will personally go prepare your dorm, it should be finished by tomorrow." The headmaster said as he looked at Will. " There is no need. The main reason I wanted to go to this academy was to be close to my parents, so I will go home after I am done with my training at the academy." Will replied. " You should be proud of him Shawn." The headmaster said with a sigh as he looked towards Shawn. " I am, more than anything else, I am," Shawn replied with a smile as they left to go home. When Will got home he was tackled by Melany. " How did you do? If you didn't make it you can always work in the café." Will didn't know what to say. Shawn started laughing. "Honey, Will had the highest MME Rank that the academy has ever recorded. Kyle is going to train him himself." Shawn said while laughing. Then Shawn's phone started ringing. " Hello, wait for what?" Shawn continued his conversation. " Sorry, I have to go to the café, one of our new workers quit," Shawn said as he went to leave. Shawn stopped him. "Can I go help out dad?" Shawn was shocked. It was the first time Will showed interest in the café. "Sure but we need to hurry," Shawn replied with a smile. They arrived about thirty minutes later and walked into a crowded café. "Dad, what do you want me to do?" Will asked seriously. "You can start by taking orders." And just like that Will began his first day of work at the café. His appearance did not scare any of the customers but attracted more. Will took over one hundred that day. At the end of the day will barely walk up the stairs to his room. After he took a shower, with great difficulty, he then laid on his back and checked the celestial system: Tabs: Injuries Skills Maps Main: Name: Willenstark Kraft-Will Race: ??-Tailed celestial fox Strength: 12 Agility: 11 Intelligence: 13 Charisma: 5 Luck: -17 Mana: 30 Mana Manipulation: 10 Vitality: 15 Endurance: 18 Willpower: 20 Light manipulation: 5 Willpower: 13 Spirit: 8 Wait, since why did I get the trait willpower from working in a café? Shouldn't I have got that when I almost died? How did my charisma increase? What does it mean by spirit? I wonder if I gained a new skill? Skills: Movement: Grace (Passive) Light magic: Healing light (Active/Passive) Wait, why did the layout change? And what is Grace? "Grace- all of your movements are more fluid and natural." Well, that's useful, I suppose. Will sat on his bed and thought over what happened. He is now above the paladin rank. He is no longer viewed as a freak by all. He is now working at the café in the evenings. His life changed completely in the last month, and yet it still felt as if a calamity on the horizon. He only hoped it would only affect him and not the ones he cared for. Will slowly drifted asleep. The following morning, Will woke up and prepared for his first day at an academy again. He walked downstairs and ate a colossal breakfast with his parents. Wills appetite increased tremendously after his change. Will felt that there were even more secrets than there was to answer. He felt that the question marks in the race section were very suspicious, but if it could provide Will the power to protect the ones he cares for then he doesn't care if he becomes a monster. Will then rode to the Blenheim academy with Shawn. "See you at the café, dad," Will said happily as he got out of the truck. "Try not to give anyone anymore "presents" if you can help it," Shawn said with a chuckle. "Okay, dad," Will said as he slowly walked to the main gate entrance. He looked to the sign above the gate and said to himself. "I have to do my best, if not then why even try." Wills entrance caught lots of stares as he walked to the headmaster office. He was greeted by the headmaster as he walked into the office. "Before we get started on anything major I have a couple of questions about your time at Lunsford's." The headmaster said seriously. "Okay," Will said as he stared at the headmaster. "Did you ever learn to use those swords at your side?" The headmaster said as he stared at the dual swords on Wills sides. "Yes, and I have a few cores that I never got to turn in," Will said as he suddenly remembered a tenth of an inch size, circular metallic bone-like spheres that he left at home in the satchels each student received as they went to collect cores. "Yes, actually you can sell them to the academy. We use them to strengthen and repair weapons and armors." The headmaster said as he looked at Will. "Can I use your phone to get dad to bring them here?" Will asked. "Certainly, but it will cost you fifty percent of the income of your cores." Will was shocked when he heard this. "Really?" Will barely wheezed out. " No, I am just messing with you." The headmaster said with a laugh. Will then used the phone and Shawn arrived with what looked to be a brown leather satchel but was dyed red with blood. Shawn then handed the satchel to Kyle. "Let' see how many you got," Kyle said energetically as he poured them onto his dark steel desk. Everyone in the room went quiet. "What? These are vermillion deer cores! And there are so many! They are usually a problem for anyone to deal with in groups but if you killed all of these at once then no one can compare to you in combat!!" The headmaster shrieked as he said this. "Really, everyone in Lunsford sees them as vermin and I have to agree," Will said shocked by the headmaster's reaction. "Really! You are starting to sound cocky. Why don't we have a duel to see how strong you actually are?" The headmaster said as he looked at Will in a new light. "You can just use magic to take care of me from a distance. So how much will I get for the cores?" Will said as he looked back at the headmaster. "I won't use magic and better yet if you win I will make you Co-Headmaster of this academy. And we will not be able to give cash for your cores, we will give you academy shop credits that you can use at any shop on academy grounds. " The headmaster said as he looked at Will. " So, are you in Will?" The headmaster asked with a grin. "Okay, but I hope you don't regret making that bet," Will said as he looked at Kyle. "Since you get something if you win then so should I. If you lose you become the mascot of the academy." The headmaster said with a chuckle. "Alight," Will said as he shrugged his shoulders. "Then let's go to the arena." Before they walked to the arena Kyle made an announcement for everyone to go to the arena, he did not give any reason why. " Are you coming, Shawn?" The headmaster said as he looked at Shawn, who has said nothing the entire time. Shawn shook his head, chuckled and then followed them to the arena.
