《Money Making MMO》Day 1.1 Waking Up

I woke up seeing white. I got up from where I was sleeping, and looked around. I was in a small white room that had a bed, a chair, a bedside table, and a door. The bed was soft to the touch, yet firm and held my body. I realized all I had on were simple white underwear and nothing else. Didn’t those guys give me some hospital clothes before going to sleep? What the heck? Whatever, there were some clothes on the chair.
They were white, just like the room. They had an emblem over where the heart would be that looked like a stick and a sword behind a shield. Reminded me of the Jolly Roger. After putting the clothes on, which were a perfect fit, by the way, I went the bedside table and saw a book and a brochure.
I picked up the brochure first, since it was smaller, you know? Quicker to finish. It was a well-designed brochure and even had moving parts. Obviously, the future made some definitive advancements. The front of the brochure showed a man holding a great sword in one hand and a ball of flame in the other. He was black and wore a red outfit that looked like something an old Christian Crusader would wear. He had a fierce look in his eyes as he swung his sword and threw his flames at unseen enemies off to the sides of the page.
Big fancy letters saying, “Welcome to Exodus!” were stretched across the top. Well that’s promising. The end of the world, and all that. I guess apocalyptic scenarios are still popular nowadays. As I sat back down, I had gathered that something was not right. I could feel things I expected to feel, but didn’t feel the regular stuff. I suffer from all sorts of difficulties. My lungs collapsed when I was born, resulting in severe asthma, I had allergies that would react as soon as the temperature changed several degrees or the wind picked up, and I was fat.

The previous issues made it hard for me to be physically active and stay in shape. In fact, the only muscles I had that were built were my legs from having to support me. I mean, I did participate in a football conditioning once, to help get me ready for marching band, but I didn’t expect to actually have a good weightlifting body type. The coaches all wanted me to play.
Nope.
Anyways, what I am saying, is I should have been in some level of pain or discomfort, even if it was only minimum. But there was no such feeling. Was I already in the Ultra Reality? This was some impressive shit!
Ahem
I was planning on going out and buying a journal or something to record my actions. I was one of the first people to try out the cryogenic sleep chamber, so I figured my feelings and thoughts would make for some pretty nifty storytelling, gaining me a lot of money to help support me in the future. While I lived in the future. You know? Whatever, I’m confusing myself.
I lifted the book and saw it had one word on it.
GENESIS
It was the only thing in this room besides me, the clothes, and the brochure that had color besides white, so it must have been important. Speaking of, how is this place even lit? Whatever, must be some futuristic stuff. Back to the book. It was a simple brown hard cover book that felt heavy at first, but then I adjusted.
The cover felt old, like something you would find in an antique store. The book didn’t appear to be well used, so that was weird. The font used for the title was blockish, like something you would see on a line of computer code. It was a silvery color, and shined as I turned and moved the book. Pretty cool.

I had hoped it wasn’t the Bible, or something. But thankfully, Genesis was the name of the company that helped to make this UR game. The book had basic information pertaining to the start of the company and how it grew. Although, I was actually pretty scared. I saw some conspiracy level stuff in there. From what I could understand, I wasn’t the only one to go sleep.
Duh.
Anyways, so many people wanted to just skip to the cool part, the people who remained could only quickly complete the project so everyone could wake up. Eventually, advanced robots, modified humans, clones, and even teleportation were all discovered before the Ultra Reality was completed. I guess Ultra Reality was hard to make come true. They thought, ‘If they want it, they can have it!’ Not very original, but beggars can’t be choosers. In fact, it actually said that. It also said that thanks to technological advancement, a brand new body could be made!
So that was why my body felt great. The people of Genesis created the most sophisticated of things and let us all have it. For a price.
The price was $1,000,000,000,000!
Excuse me, what?!
Each person had to pay a trillion dollars to help cover the costs of all these great things. Our awesome bodies also only had 10 years left. Which wasn’t nice, but I’m sure these bodies can live for far longer. We had to pay off the money to live! What the shit?! That was still 100 billion per year!
Well, the faster I make money, the faster I get to start doing things I actually want to do!
Time to get this game started! Actually, the name Exodus complements the situation rather well. I wonder where I should start.
