《Authority [Dropped]》Chapter 6

Chapter 6: Latter (6).
The same gentle wind that blew the dews on the leaves courted the puffy smoke to sway. The smoke was dancing in place. Akin to that of a rainbows end, full of treasures, the source of the smoke also contained such as Titus might say.
When Titus arrived at the end of the 'rainbow' of smoke saw the treasures that he sought. His eyes glittered a bright light clearly visible despite it was amongst the rays of sunshine piercing through the roof of leaves in the thick vegetation.
"Master!" A young maiden's voice permeated through and broke the silent atmosphere. Titus who had just finished settling on a branch, hidden among the leaves, saw the youth with a dazzling introduction 'fuzzily' as accompanied by the dancing smoke in the youth's background. Sigh* A sigh emerged from the 'masters' mouth although it could not be heard through the ear especially in a distance, it can be felt through from the atmosphere respective as to what Titus did. "Yes... Coming my child." The voice seemed to have gone through the passage of time carrying a profound sense in the voice itself as if natural. Followed by a rustling of leaves; an aged man, indeed, came out from within the 'thick' bushes and steadily walked towards the youth a supposed disciple (the child used meant disciple but is deep and close to actual kinship) of his.
'Lolicon?' Titus almost exclaimed out loud if not then he would had been discovered no matter the distance as he can sense the depth of the aged man just from his presence. (lol)
The aged man gestured to the youth to sit on a stump near a burnt out campfire used overnight, the source of the smoke. The youth who was about to reply, mouth midway open, closed her mouth again and sat on the designated seat. The aged man who saw the youth that grumpyly sat and simply shook his head as if a common occurrence and once he was in front of the youth he asked. "What is it child?"

"Grandpa! You still haven't exacted the revenge for my dear Bruno!" Titus who heard 'grandpa' coming from the youth's mouth was finally freed from his cold sweat as the aged man was not a Lolicon as he suspected. "Child, you are already 15 this year yet still here you are acting like a spoiled regal." The man replied with his unchanged voice since from the beginning, steady and dignified whether intentional or not. From Titus' view, it is not possible to distinguish the features of both people despite Titus' enhanced eyesight after his level up. In addition the atmosphere coming from the aged man seemed to distort reality as both of their figures only looked vivid images. However, it was certain that they were humans if not at least humanoid beings with high intelligence similar to humans.
"I already explained it to you yesterday child... *sigh The rabid dog was not suitable for controlling as it has such wild and brash nature. Although it may seem easy for me but there is a big difference between the levels of both you and I." The aged man elaborated." I know but don't we have the same 'hidden skill' as heritage from out family! " The youth retorted so." Yes, child however you do have to remember that hidden skills are the same with other skills the only thing that differs it from the other known skills is because it is hidden thus not publicaly known and is only slightly stronger than the other skills only that hidden skills have a certain surprise effect thus adding to battle power especially to a foreign opponent. Also, I have to 'again' remind you that it is a taboo to speak about our family having a hidden skill as it will only bring calamity upon us. "" B.... But-" The youth tried to retort but was cut off by the aged man. This time however the man's voice suddenly became stern and it was further apparent from the girl's sudden stop of stutter.
"You child, do I have to explain it to you again?" The aged man thought out loud nonetheless despite the remark the aged man still proceeded.

"Again, skills are divided into three different tiers the; low, middle and high which respectively comes with bottlenecks in between, according to its strength and each tier has it own respective ratings of upto five stars corresponding to the '*level*' of ours evaluation-wise of tiers and ratings (refers to all creatures because it is a litrpg after all). The so called hidden skill is merely a remark given by the general public but that did not make it much different apart from slight differences, again, from others as I explained yesterday and earlier. Our family's hidden skill, 'mind manipulation', is a tier 1 low skill Mind Manipulation ( it may seem redundant but I guess it adds taste to it) that has been rated 2 stars according to the esteemed elders of our family. Finally, to answer your question from yesterday night again, to make it clear, currently your current level is 9 and the rabid dog you controlled had its level nearing five thus your already low proficiency of using the skill was rendered to sink lower unless you already had practiced this in about a year or so however you did none until a week ago thus the purpose of our journey, which simultaneously has come to an end at this moment as an event like this happened and needed your full concentration and pondering only to be done at our household. Although there is a massive leap of strength in every 5 levels still the power output that you can put on the skill of ours is minimal as you are only level 9 unless you are already 10 as it may have eliminated the wild and brash trait of the rabid dog. I already told you in advance not to choose monsters on your first time such as those rabid dog as it does not work on creatures that do not use their minds to think. Apart from the ability to order it around finely during casual times when things such as those that happened yesterday of the rabid dog running away because of the sudden stimulation of instincts. Please keep in mind that mind manipulation is only a tier 1 low skill despite it being rated 2 stars and it being a hidden skill. But fret not child as when you reach the level like I am, level 27, you will be able to control a child to bring you his most treasured candy that his mother bought for him without hesitation much less those elders of our family that despite only being a tier 1 low skill was able to utilize it unprecedented above its tier and was very helpful in carrying out assassinations thus it being rated two and also there came to play why skills which was rated higher and has a higher tier are crucial when it comes to people of the same level including monsters. And don't think the way that even if it is only ranked two star each individual star has a high gap in between, not to mention the eighth, fourth, half and a quarter of a star which it may not be as big of a gap it still is to the point of it being noticeable..."
Authors note:
This chapter is a further explanation the level system and level concept of this world as predeceed by the explanation on chapter 3. Also the skill system are also explained in this chapter.
I think I will do more chapters like this that contains both the cause and effect or just the relationship of things rather than delaying it and causing confusion unless this was a completed story which is not but it is however; excluding to the chapters that are emeant to be divided into different parts to be effective and only including independent chapters that has their own goals which by the way most stories are built of by balancing both independent and connected chapters.

Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”― Neil Gaiman, Signal to Noise. I am absolutely new to writing and will take any and all constructive criticism. Please give feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I will update the tags as they change, and I hope that you enjoy this little story I'm writing! Quick warning: Seamus is intentionally a flawed character, and this story is going to explore those flaws and perhaps even change a few of them. I do not agree with all of his actions, but it is what it is.
