《The Billionaire's Proposal》Date

😊
First date? I can't seem to remember what my first date was like but I know it won't be compared to the one I am about to have. I walk the two blocks to my house from the diner. I open the front door and step in were Goldie, my golden retriever my brother gave me for my birthday, greet me with a loud friendly bark.
"Hey buddy," I state as I pet it. "You want a treat?"
The golden retriever follows me into the kitchen were I hand him a dog treat from the cabinet.
"Good boy." The golden retriever barks and I giggle. My phone starts vibrating against the counter top and I walk over to it.
I smile as I set the phone back on the counter. I felt like a teenage girl going on her very first date. I walked over to my wardrobe and look at the few clothes I owned. I tap my finger over my chin as I finally decided to go with a black formal dress with pink roses and beige belt. I laid the dress on my bed and set a pair of beige pumps next to it before waking towards my bathroom. I turn the water tap on after adjusting it to my liking. I strip out of my clothes and enter the steamy tub. The warm water cascades over my body relaxing the tense muscles from working tirelessly today. Once I was finished with my shower I quickly dried myself and blow dried my hair before walking towards my room and putting on the dress. I slipped on the heels and started doing my make up. I kept it simple and just curled my brown locks.
I stepped out of the shower with a towel wrapped around my waist. I ran a hand through my wet hair as I tried to figure what to wear. I decided to go for a pair of black slacks, black button up shirt, and dark blue blazer with a pair of black shoes. I brush my hair to the side before grabbing my wallet and phone.

"She's different from other girls so be a gentleman." I mentally tell myself.
I grab the keys to my blue BMW 2009 Z4 before heading to the garage. I turn on the car and it roars to life before I drive to Sara's house.

I park the car outside a white house with a beautiful front yard. I stepped out of the car after grabbing the roses I bought for Sara from the passengers seat and walking to her front porch. I press the door bell and in a matter of seconds a beautiful brunette with hazel green eyes stands in front of me.
"You look stunning." I state as I am mesmerized by her beauty.
She gave me a smile and answered, "Thank you, you clean up well."
I return the smile she was giving me and I show her the roses I got her.
"These are for you." I state and her eyes light up which causes my heart to do a flip.
"Thanks." She answers. "I'll go put these in a vase of water and then we can leave."
She disappears into the house and I wait patiently for her. When she comes back my heart starts beating again.
"Shall we?" I ask as I expand my arm for her to take and she does with smile.
I lead her to my car and hold the door for her and she thanks me with a peck in the cheek. I round the car and get into my driver's seat.
"Would you like me to turn the radio on?" I ask and she nods.
"I thought you'd never ask." I let out a chuckle at her comment as Say You Won't Let Go starts playing through the speakers. "Perfect song."
I smile at her as I start of the car and start driving to our next location.
The car ride wasn't awkward nor was it boring. It was actually pretty fun. James and I spent most of the time singing to the songs on the radio and jamming out to the music.

"You know I can't believe I was nervous, this date is actually going pretty well." James confesses and I hand him a smile.
"To be honest I was kind of nervous myself." I answer. "But now I am not. You are really making me question my first impression of you."
"What was your first impression of me?" James asks.
I look up in a thinking manner as I answer, "I thought you were a stuck up rich guy who thought the world revolved around him."
James look down at me and laughs.
"People have thought of me as an egotistic rich jerk before so I don't blame you." He states.
"What about you?" I question. "What was your first impression of me?"
"I thought, woah she's the most beautiful girl I've seen and I think I now believe in love at first sight." His words caused my heart to melt.
"You are lying." I state, hoping he would say he was not.
As if reading my mind he answers, "I am not. That was my first impression of you Ms. Martinez."
"How do you know my la-"
"Jane, told me." He answers.
"So you asked Jane about me?" I question with a raised eyebrow.
"I needed to know what you liked so I could make this the best date ever." James replied as he hands me a smile.
This guy is really making me fall in love with him.
* * *
"Where are we going?" I ask as James led me to god knows where blind folded.
"It's a surprise." He answers as I could suddenly hear the sound of waves and the sand beneath my toes. "Have you guessed where we are?"
"The beach?" I answer.
"Correct." James states as he takes of the blind fold and my eyes widen. In front of us was a wooden stage with a table in the middle surrounded by candles. "Do you like it?"
"Like it?" I answer. "I love it!"
I turn around to hug James as a thanks and he chuckles before hugging me back.
"Come, I prepared some meals for you." He stated as he leads us to the table. There near the table was a cart with three different dishes. "First we have lasagna."
"My favorite." I reply. "Jane, told you didn't she?"
"Actually, that's my favorite dish." James answers.
"Guess we have something in common already." I state as I sit down and James pushes the chair in for me.

Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt, suddenly goes away somehow
One step closer
I looked up James's blue eyes as we swayed to the rhythm of the music. Something about them mesmerized me.
I have died everyday, waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything, take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath, every hour has come to this
One step closer
I have died everyday, waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
And all along I believed, I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me, I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
One step closer
One step closer
I have died everyday, waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
And all along I believed, I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me, I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
I lean up to kiss him without thinking and he returns the kiss. I melt into his arms as I smile into the kiss. Love at first sight.

Shadow in the North
What if a work of fiction wasn't fiction at all? What if we only thought it was fiction because it was written down, and we were separated from it by the page? Isabel Darrow, troubled by her past and feeling disconnected from the world, likes her doctor's suggestion that the world of fiction might become reality. She likes the idea of waking up in the middle of her favourite book with the handsome, brooding Mr Thornton glaring at people in his mill yard, but she doesn't worry about the foul air of dirty, smoky Milton, because it's not real, and it was written over 160 years ago.But then she takes a trip to Oxford, and gets waylaid along the way, finding herself greeted at a smoky train station, by a man called Mr Hale, who claims to be her godfather. When Isabel meets Margaret and first sees Mr Thornton, she's determined to help the course of love run a little more smoothly for the two stubborn lovers. But Gaskell hadn't accounted for a second young lady in the Crampton house, and whilst Isabel tries to adapt to a life where women have no independence or equality, Milton must adapt to her. The question is, will Mr Thornton adapt to her, or Margaret, first?
