《Skill Overdose》Memories

In Liam's room
"Hmm... This is... This is really tasty!"
Liam said while having a pleased expression.
There was sunlight passing through the window curtain and he is still lying on the patient's bed.
With some fruits and a lot of letters on the table, it seems like many people visited him.
"Of course, sir. This is from me."
The blonde-haired girl was sitting in his side while feeding him grapes.
"Yes, yes. I want more of this... Feed me more."
Liam was really satisfied but he can only talk and eat because he was still covered with bandages.
But unfortunately, it was only just a dream...
"Hm. What a nice dream. I can still remember it clearly because of my skill. haa..."
Liam moved his torso upwards as he woke up, then look around the room if there were any people around but there was only him inside.
The window was covered by a window curtain but you can still see that there was a bit of light outside so it was obvious that it's currently before noon or so.
He easily moved his torso upwards to a sitting position. Afterward, he touched his left shoulder multiple times.
"I guess my injuries are healed now. This regeneration is truly amazing but..."
Liam stopped touching his shoulder before resting his chin in his hand.
"...When and how the hell did I get this really good skill? And why did I only thought of this now...?"
Liam tried to recall something about the Regeneration skill but can't remember anything about it. Even with the Hyperthymesia skill that he received to remember things vividly.
"Hm? One year ago, the skill I got is... Firmness and I didn't know how it work back then. I even told Ian to let him beat me up. But I became unconscious after he hit my face once with a strong punch,"
_______
Pant...! Pant...!
"Haaaah...Haaah..Haaah the f*ckin' headache still hurts so much!" Liam grumbled after enduring the headache just a minute ago.
He was sitting on the edge of his bed. He was clutching the blanket. And his body was covered with thick beads of sweat.
"The system is currently preparing a skill to give to the host."
A slightly robotic female voice spoke inside his mind.
"You better give me something good, System! The expensive pills that I had bought last year had decreased so much today. Please give me a moneymaker skill or something."
He demanded the system while he was still massaging both of his temples with his fingers.
"The system had given you the Firmness skill."
The voice once again spoke in his mind.
"The Firmness skill will be activated if the HP is below forty. The damage taken by the user will be reduced by 40% and the health recovery will be activated automatically. It can last for 20 minutes."
Liam was steady so that he can focus and listen carefully to the voice but then his face became blank.
"What... What the hell is this... Is this skill bad or good? Huwaah! Health recovery? Can I become healthy with it? What even is the H and P... or is it HP? Games? Ah forget it! Let's just try it."
Liam stood up straight then he opened his mouth.
"Firmness," Liam said then look at his body and his surroundings but nothing was happening.

"Firmness activate...? Ah f*ck. I just remembered that it has conditions. Huwaaaaaaah."
Liam soon sat on his bed and let out a heavy sigh with a displeased expression in his face.
_______
Present time
"Ian said that I had a bruise on my cheek when I was knocked out by him but there's no trace of a single bruise after I woke up,"
Liam said, talking to himself after recalling something about his skills one year ago.
Gulp.
Liam drank the glass of water on top of the small table at the side of the bed.
"So I think I got this regeneration skill even before last year. Hm. Two years ago I got the Crystal Vision. I didn't really use it a lot for my daily life," Liam then began recalling something again two years ago.
_______
Pant... Pant...
"Haaaah... haaah... haaah. F*ck! Even with the pills it still hurts like hell!"
Liam constantly scuffed his hair.
"But I guess... I guess it's still better than the previous years' torturing pain."
Liam spoke his mind while he was lying down on his bed that was turning wet because of his sweat.
"The system is currently preparing a skill to give to the host."
A robotic female voice spoke inside his mind.
"Yes, yes. Give me another skill. I really want a good skill!"
Liam shouted vigorously even with his tired body.
"The system had given you the Crystal Vision skill."
The voice once again spoke inside his mind.
"The Crystal Vision skill will let the sight of the user be greatly improved. It can last for 5 minutes."
"Oh, what a nice description... I really want to complain now... but let me sleep. Hmm. I'm so tired."
Liam said that as he began to fall asleep. He closed his eyes.
In the Afternoon
"F*ck! I'm late! Why didn't Ian came? Argh! It's because of the shitty headache. I can't even use my skill right now."
Liam said inwardly as he walked hurriedly fast in the hallway of their school.
CREAK
"You're so late, Mr. Keene! Get to your seat and start answering the quiz!"
Liam's teacher said to him angrily.
"Y-yes sir. I'm sorry."
Liam apologized before he sat on his own chair.
'F*ck! I didn't review my notes last night! Shit! My only choice is to cheat right now, but...'
Liam thinking of something bad but it got cut when his plan wouldn't work.
'But the seat arrangements are widely distanced. How can I... Wait. My skill. It said that it can greatly improve one's eyesight right? uwah.'
Liam looked at his teacher in the front and his surroundings than he slightly opened his mouth.
"Crystal Vision," Liam said in a low voice.
"Crystal Vision Activated."
Liam then looked at his surroundings once again.
They still look the same, but it's entirely different now because he can see everything in a clear and detailed view.
By just moving his eyes, he can see the forming thin and old cobwebs that are covered with soots in every corner of the classroom.
He can see the dust on the floor that can't be seen by normal people if he didn't look too closely.
He can even see anything in a slow-motion if he focuses on it. And he can now see the link that was sticking in the answer sheet of his smart classmate.

He was so satisfied because he can now answer the quiz.
_______
Present Time
"But I did use it once... I mean twice. Hmm... Or thrice... I used it many times already when there is a quiz that I didn't study. And there is no regeneration incident that happened back then so I definitely didn't received it two years ago."
Liam looked at the bandages on his feet for a moment then he decided to take it off.
"And... Three years ago, I got the skill Accurate Throw. I used both the Athlete and the Accurate Throw skill to play basketball with random guys but unfortunately, it somehow turned into a fight."
Liam scratches his cheeks as he recalled his memories two years ago.
_______
Three years ago
"AAAAAAAARGH!!! What! The! F*CK! Is this HEADACHE!!! Again!!! AAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"
A while later.
Liam's whole body was soaked under the water of the bathtub. His eyes were tightly closed. And he was clutching his hair with both of his hands.
"The system is currently preparing a skill to give to the host."
After the headache was gone, he heard a robotic female voice spoke from inside his mind then he moved his torso up.
"Bleurgh! Haaaaah... Haaah... Haaah"
He threw up and breathed heavily.
"The system had given you the Accurate Throw skill."
"The Accurate Throw skill lets the user throw something more accurately. It can last for 5 minutes."
The robotic female voice spoke again inside his mind.
"It... It happened again... And also on my birthday."
Liam was bewildered.
The strange occurrence last year had happened to him once again, how can he not be very nervous.
An hour later.
Liam can't sleep and It took an hour before he even calm down from the strange event that had happened to him earlier.
"Does this mean that... I can use this Accurate Throw as a skill... like the Athlete skill I got last year? It must be."
Liam said to himself as he recalled what thing he had done with the athlete skill he had got last year.
'I must try this later.'
He thought that he would have to try it later after school but first, he needs to sleep.
4:20 PM, After School
Liam didn't go to his house after school but he went straight to the plaza instead.
He was sitting on a bench just underneath a tree. With his torso slightly moved forward and his fist supporting his chin, he was wondering.
"Accurate Throw... If I throw something would I be accurate? Psh, obviously." Liam said his thoughts.
He then looked around at his surroundings.
On the opposite side of him, over a 15 feet distance, there is a water bottle standing on top of a bench.
'I guess I would have to try this skill right now.'
Liam then picked up a pebble just beside the tree.
"I can use the Athletic skill 4 times in half an hour. I wonder how many times I can use this Accurate Throw skill."
Liam said and once again glanced at the water bottle.
"Accurate Throw."
He put his hand up after mumbling the name of the skill and immediately threw the pebble in the water bottle.
PUK
The pebble hit the bottle. Accurately. It was hit in the middle of the bottle just like what Liam was aiming to hit.
"H-Holy! It really is accurate! HAHA-!"
Liam shouted very loud as he thought that his skill really was ACCURATE. He was even laughing because he really can't believe that his skill was truly this good.
The people were frightened while looking at him like he was a crazy guy and even the two kids standing and talking near him walked far away from him.
'Why do these people look at me like that? What a crazy bunch of people.'
After a while of looking around, Liam can't find a good target anymore in the plaza so he just decided to go home.
While he was walking in a random street just five roads next to the street where he lives, he was searching for a game or a sport that requires throwing with accuracy on the internet.
He was busy looking at his phone and then a ball suddenly bumped on his feet. He halted for a moment and then he turned his head towards the direction where the ball came from.
The thing he first saw is a basketball hoop. It is definitely a streetball they are playing because it's only a half-court and the players are only 6 people.
'Now this, is an example of a game of throwing with accuracy.'
Liam picked up the ball then he glanced at the players who are making hand signals which tell him to pass them the ball that.
He just ignored the guys and prepared to shoot instead.
He gazed at the basketball ring and imagined that he's going to shoot the ball there perfectly and accurately.
"Accurate Throw. "
As Liam said the skill name he grabbed the ball with his dominant hand and turned his body towards the ring and took a shooting stance.
The guys who were watching him took a stance suddenly giggled while the others were puzzled
Who in the world would shoot a ball from that distance and with that confidence?
The distance between him and the ring exceeds over fifty feet that surpassed the half-court of an NBA court.
There were only a few professional basketball players who managed to shoot and pointed from a half-court distance and that shot was almost fully made by lady luck herself.
They don't even have the confidence to shoot the ball from afar if there was more time remaining.
Every player knows that a half-court shot was widely considered to be the lowest percentage shot in basketball and yet this guy took a shooting stance and made an expression that says he was confident of getting a perfect shot.
The people in the court thought that the guy who's preparing to shoot was crazy so they just decided to laugh it off.
Liam didn't know that he was being made fun of by the guys. Though even if he knew it, he wouldn't care much about it because he will definitely prove to them that he can throw the ball without flaw.
He moved his hands upwards and lowered his body and then a moment later he then threw the ball towards the ring. He didn't even need to jump to shoot the ball from a long distance.
The guys' gaze followed the ball as it flew into the air. They were doubting inside. Why do they feel like the ball will not miss it's shot.
WHOOOSH
It's not the sound of air rippling downwards but it's the sound of a ball passing through the ring without making contact with itself.
It was indeed accurate...
Because the ball went in.

The Heart Grows
Dungeon games? Yeah, they're a good way to waste a few hours. The trick is to know the map and plan appropriately. Of course, it doesn't matter if you get beaten. You revise your plan for that map and do a bit better next time. Man, it'd really suck to wake up as a dungeon heart in a fantasy world you know nothing about, barely able to even work out how to control your dungeon. Lucky that wouldn't happen to anybody, huh? What with only having one chance at getting things right, you'd have to plan extra-defensive. This story should be getting chapters published weekly. I have a comfortable buffer set up and on top of the weekly writing I am committing, a commissioner has donated two monthly writing slots to ensure this remains on a weekly schedule. There will be a stat block at the beginning of every chapter bar the first, and a handy map at the end. All my works come with a CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. This means you are free to download, publish, and even make derivative works of my writing so long as you include this license, attribution, and don't sell the works. Keep it free!

The Limits of Limitless
Author's Note: So, new author here, nice to meet you from this lovely one sided conversation lol. I was so tired of waiting for the perfect story for me so I decided to write a few of my own. These are basically just to make me happy, but if you enjoy them too that would make me happy as well lol. ______________________________________________________________________________________ So once upon a time, there was a convienent, and slightly cliche, plot device used by a somewhat lazy author.... Which in turn, created an easily made story of how a lucky high schooler posing as a hardcore gamer dies only to resurrect in a fantasy reality, meeting beautiful women, powerful dragons and ancient beings, an assortment of insanely escentric fellows, and a certain over powered ring. Journey with them as they explore the wilderness of twisted imagination. Or for you old timey folk who like their synopsis a bit tame, here you go: Jason, a senor in highschool, is slowly failing school due to not giving a fuck. Like many people now in the year 3056, he is obsessed with the wonderful invention most lovingly called, 'True Virtual Realities'. now by using his obsession with his favorite Virtual Reality game called 'Reality Controlled', which is the first and so called best Virtual Reality ever made. it was basically the all around escape humanity wished for, and he with heaven defying luck came across one of the three cheat items the game developers left for themselves: The Limitless Ring. The ring was a support type item and had the ability to grant wishes, store worlds, clone items, grant skills and easily learn abilities. But those are just a few of the things it could do. Using the ring he successfully became the "best player" and had a herd of fans following him everywhere. It was a dream come true. Until, he was killed from a power surge that fried his brain which was hooked up to the Nerve Capsule, an unsafe prototype of the Dive gear that he bought do to low funds. The end. Or so you would think.... ______________________________________________________________________________________ Author's Note: I was, to be honest, wanting to do a collab, because to me it is sooooooo incredibly boring to write by yourself since you always know what happens next, however no one enjoys a bit of friendly cooperation *sigh* so I'm forced to journey these roads alone.... 'Tis but a sad fate tha' 'is here young'un has t' bear. The cover isn't mine, all rights and stuff goes to its artist and such.
