Disclaimer: If you feel lost with the Law Comprehension Level, do check the chapter with the power system between Chapter 14 and 15. Mortal Realm, Wilderness, Grade 1 Planet, Little River Hotel, The Fox family's Villa. Following the conversation with the couple, Bai Yue decided to execute the technique to hide their Bloodline from any tracking. It took a few hours after which they had lunch. Guang Hua then put Guang Yang to sleep, before the three went to cultivate until dinner. A day and night passed with no special event happening. When the following morning came, everyone woke up, and the masked woman asked the other two. “Are you ready to leave this planet?” They answered. “We are.” “All our things are in our dimensional rings, so we can go.” She then asked. “Where's your spaceship?” Once they gave her the information she spread her Divine sense to find it. “Got it.” As soon as she found it, she activated her Law of Space to teleport the four to their vessel instantly. Seeing their environment change into the familiar spaceship's interior, Hei Qiang muttered. “The Law of Space is really amazing...” Picking up on his mumbling, thanks to her keen hearing, she said. “You're too weak for now. But once you breakthrough to reach the Immortal Layer, you'll be able to start comprehending it. Youùll only hqve yourself to depend on for that.” Her reminder, although coldly revealing his lack of cultivation, ended up making his blood boil with ambition. “I'll definitely reach the Immortal Layer!” He nodded, looking calm outwardly while discreetly clenching his fists. Whereas Guang Hua was more keen on what she seemed to imply. “Since senior Bai said so, that means senior is an Immortal Layer Cultivator?” She asked, although thinking that the conclusion she came up with sounded ludicrous. After all, everyone knew that once you breakthrough to reach the Immortal Layer and survive the Nine-Fold Tribulation Lightning, you would automatically be sent to the Immortal Realm. Hei Qiang turned his head quickly towards her to wait for her response. Pondering for a few seconds on what she should say, she decided to be vague for now since knowing the truth wouldn't help in anyway. They were already too reliant on her. There was no need to make it worse. “No, I'm not an Immortal Layer Cultivator. You should understand that learning Immortal Layer Laws can also be done by Mortal Layer Cultivators. However, there are two requirements for it to succeed. The first requirement is to use an external Item to do it. For example, Little Yang with his Life Bloodline.” She took the opportunity of answering her questions to start clarifying a few misunderstanding they had about the Realms' Laws. “The second requirement is to have a very high comprehension ability. Since, as a Mortal Cultivator your 'Life Order' is not high enough to normally understand the Immortal Layer Laws naturally, it will be very hard to progress.” “The upside is that it makes your cultivation faster and breakthrough easier, since by integrating the laws you comprehended in your mana, body and soul, it will make you closer to the Realms' origin. It will also make you stronger. After all, usually, if two cultivators with the same Law comprehension Level but with one using an Immortal Law and the other one using a Mortal Law were to fight, the one with the Immortal Law would win the fight. Of course there are exceptions. Those comes mainly from how the Cultivators use their Laws.” She stopped talking to let the information sink into their minds. Being in the Mortal Realm, information about Immortal Layer Laws was scarce, since Immortal Layer Cultivators could not stay in the Mortal Realm and Immortal Layer Items were extremely rare here. It had to do with the Laws limiting the Mortal Layer Cultivators. In the Immortal Realm, it limits them to the level of Immortal Layer, and to the Divine Layer in the Divine Realm. In the three Realms, powerful and erudite Cultivators researched that phenomenon to understand its origin, only to end up empty handed. No clear explanation was found. However, a rumor circulated in the Divine Realm, which was that, if one wished to find out anything about the truth of the three Realms, also called the Wanderer's Realms, one would need to surpass the Divine Layer. No one knows what laid beyond, though, as, instead of an answer, there may be another Realm with Cultivators as clueless as the ones below them. Trying to wrap their head around the new information, Guang Hua said. “You mean fighting experience? “ Bai Yue replied. “I mean experience in general. After all, Laws in their basic form are tools that you can use to do pretty much whatever you can imagine. There are limits, though. One is your energy. You need energy to control the Laws, just like you need stamina to swing your sword or bandaged an injured person. The task you want to accomplish will obviously determine the amount of energy needed. To go back to the sword swinging example,it would be the difference between swinging a one kilo sword and a one ton sword. They require different amount of energy.” Hei Qiang interrupted her explanation by trying to guess the following. “The second limit is the understanding of the said Law, right? I'm guessing that it should be similar for Immortal Layer Laws?” Not taking offense for the interruption, she nodded. “Exactly. Just like a beginner blacksmith will only be able to create farming tools, a grand-master blacksmith can create powerful Mana Items.” Finishing the comparison, she looked at them and asked. “Do the both of you know about the Laws Comprehension Levels? If I'm not wrong, this Realms' understanding of Laws beyond the Experienced Level should be quite limited.” The two husband and wife nodded, after which Guang Hua said. “We know that one need to have an understanding of at least one Law beyond the Experienced Level to breakthrough to the Immortal Level, but, since it is so rare, no one in this Realm really bothered to give it a name.” Thinking to herself how weak and lacking in knowledge the cultivators in this realm were, Bai Yue decided to continue her explanation. “Since you have a great chance of breaking through to become Immortal Layer Cultivators by following my guidance, I might as well explain to you a bit more about the Laws to prepare for the future.” While they were talking with each other they moved to a lounge with comfortable-looking sofas to sit on. They also ordered the AI to leave the system and fly towards the hinterlands of the Immortal Pillar Zone by plotting a route with Official Teleporters, with no regards to the price they would need to pay for it. Otherwise, instead of a month, they might take hundreds of years to reach the closest Grade 3 Planet with how massive the Zone was. After a few seconds of pondering, she resumed her explanation. “Laws Comprehension is divided into five levels with four sub-levels each. The first is the Basic level, where the Laws would only increase your strength a little. You only scratched the surface of the Law you're studying. Most Rank 1, Mana Gathering Cultivators are stuck at this level until they die. The second is the Familiar Level, where you start to understand more about your Law. This is, as you both know, the requirement to breakthrough to the second rank as a Mortal Cultivator, the Mana Liquefying rank. It will also help you fly for a while even if it's not the wind Law you're comprehending. Take note that the Law you comprehend will have an influence on many things such as your flying speed in this case. As for your combat strength, an average Early Level 4 Cultivator is around twenty times stronger than a Peak Level 3 Cultivator. The third level is Experienced, which should be the level of your main Laws since you need to reach this Level to breakthrough and become a rank three, Mana Core rank Cultivator. At this level, your body is pretty much self contained. You can fly with an amount of energy so little that the amount of mana that you take in, in one breath, is superior to the amount used while flying alone. Unless you're stuck somewhere void of mana of course. You don't need to breathe, eat or defecate. Your body will process the 'good part' of the food you eat into mana, and destroying the rest. You can live outside planets in the Void Zone without problem. You regenerate quickly, unless your limbs or organs are missing. Few poisons can hurt you. The fourth level is the one you both need to reach to become an Immortal Cultivator. Its name is the Natural Level. At that point you will yield the Law as easily as breathing. The level of destruction, or creation involved is out of a Mortal mind. A Level 1 Immortal Layer Cultivator can destroy a whole continent on a Grade 2 Planet for example. Of course, one's strength may vary depending on many factors, such as the Law used, mana Items used, etc. The last level that I know of is called the Transcendent Level. It's a legendary level and I don't know anyone who reached it. And that for every Layer of Laws: Mortal, Immortal and Divine.” After hesitating for a second, she added. “Of course, the three Realms are vast, so I don't dare say that no one's reached that level yet.” Guang Hua noticed again that Bai Yue talked about the three Realms as if she had been there. “Could she be an extremely powerful Cultivator who was reincarnated in the Mortal Realm?” She thought, but decided against voicing her doubts aloud, since she knew that if she wanted to tell the two, then she would have already done it. “To talk about the transcendent level...” The asked woman continued with confusion in her voice. “I have no idea how powerful it is, nor how to reach it. I don't even know if it is divided in sub-level like the rest...” She finished in a whisper, as if she was talking to herself, seemingly thinking about finding a way to reach that ephemeral level. Shaking her head slightly to stop herself from getting sidetracked, she added a few seconds later. “As for the sub-level of the other main levels, they are similar. It goes like this: Early, Mid, Late and Peak. In that order.” Guang Hua said in a half-sure and half-doubt voice. “We knew most of what senior told us, except the information about the Natural and Transcendent Level. I assume that Senior Bai's purpose in telling something we knew already is because it should be similar for the Immortal Layer Laws?” Noticing how quickly the woman picked up on what she wanted to convey, she nodded with a slight praising look hidden behind her mask. “Exactly. It's also the same for the Divine Layer Laws. But it's useless to think about it now, since it's too far away from you.” “What the two of you should do now is sharing with me your exact level of Laws' comprehension Level and your cultivation scripture. That way I will be able to give you some better ones and help you improve your comprehension level.” Hei Qiang, feeling excited inwardly, and appearing indifferent outwardly, gazed at his wife with a slight smile, before saying. “Since I'm the weakest, let me start.” His wife, hearing his calm voice, started laughing faintly at his fake serenity. They had been together for more than a hundred years, so she could detect the traces of nervousness that he was desperately trying to hide under a calm facade. Realizing that his secret was uncovered by his wife, a wry smile found its way to his face. “I really can't hide anything from her, can I? I guess I should forget about my dignity... Sigh” A sigh escaped his lips after that thought. Hearing the quiet sigh, she could guess what he was thinking about, which caused a gloating smile to appear on her face. “You know you can't hide anything from me old man. And sighing will get you nowhere.” She said laughing. Her husband then looked at her and said with a serious voice and a slight smile. “One can only try before one can know if one can succeed, 'Old Lady'.” Guang Hua not enjoying the feeling of other people calling her old, narrowed her eyes and smiled at him coldly. “It seems that you, my dear husband, are tired of living. I think that hitting you a few hundred times might make you lose that exhaustion.” Preparing himself to fight, he replied tit for tat. “My dear wife, I wouldn't want for your fist to get hurt, however if it's a fight you want, then it's a fight you'll have!” Bai Yue's lips twisted in exasperation when she watched the two clown's show happening in front of her. Her thoughts expressed her annoyance. “God, I really want to knock them out!” Noticing that they were about to fight with each other, she stopped them by using a bit of her aura to hold them still and proceeded to say with some frustration in her voice. “Are you done, now? If you want to fight, then wait until we're done here. At that time, I won't stop you.” Knowing that they went too far this time, they apologized. “I'm sorry, senior. We're too used to be alone together all the time, so we're in the habits of not paying attention to the people around us when we interact with each other.” “I apologize for wasting Senior's time.” The masked woman replied with voice devoid of emotion. “I understand that the two of you are husband and wife, however you should learn to behave yourself better. Although I'm a very patient person, if you met someone powerful with a quick fuse in the Immortal Realm, you would be dead in a second. For the sake of your child at least, be careful.” Feeling awkward from the reproach, since they both knew that they would not have behaved in that thoughtless manner if they were in front anyone else. However, since they were saved by her, they started to act more freely in front of her. “She doesn't seem to be used to deal with genuine interaction.” Guang Hua thought, feeling something from her keen intuition. “It doesn't matter. We'll just pay more attention from now on.” Hei Qiang wanting to resolve the awkwardness, coughed to gather their attention and said. “I'll start then. My cultivation level is Peak Level 7, close to breaking through to the next level. I'm proficient in Darkness and Light Laws with an Mid Experienced Level and Late Familiar Level respectively. I cultivate the Peak Mortal Scripture: Hell Darkness scripture. We found those scriptures in a ruin a long time ago and as they were very compatible with each other, we noticed our cultivation and Laws comprehensions levels increasing very quickly.” After he finished his description, Guang Hua took over the conversation. “As for me, I broke through to the Early Level 8 when I birthed little Yang. A happy occurrence to be honest. As for my Laws Levels, they are Mid Experienced for the Light Law and Peak Familiar for the Darkness Law. As for the latter, I reached that level the same day as the breakthrough I just talked about. My cultivation scripture is the Heaven Bright scripture.” Listening to the description they made of their situation, Bai Yue looked down in thought and did not say anything for an hour, visibly pondering how to help them in the best way with their cultivation. The couple kept silent and only the sound of the baby was heard, as he seemed to want to share his opinions with his parents without being completely aware of what was happening around him. After more than an hour, they could see her head rising up and looking at the both of them. Since she had made her decision, she shared her thoughts with them. “The two of you should change your scriptures with the two that I have. Hei Qiang you'll cultivate the Hell Yin scripture and Guang Hua, the Heaven Yang scripture. By dual cultivating, the two of you will benefit from the other's cultivation insights and Laws comprehension. Although, it's not as useful as a real Dual Cultivation scripture, their levels will make up for it. By the way, the two of them are Peak Divine Layer Cultivation Scriptures.” Satisfied with the expression of awe on their faces, she resumed talking. “I will transfer the corresponding scripture in your Sea of consciousness and let you comprehend it. It should take you a few days for the Mortal Layer part. After all, a Peak Divine Layer cultivation scripture is a lot more complicated than a Peak Mortal Layer one, since it will lead you to the Peak of the Divine Layer.” To make them understand how precious those scriptures were, she added. “Do not ever disclose to anyone that you cultivate those scriptures. Only peak powers in the Divine Realm would not care for it. As for the others, they would chase you down with everything they have to steal them and kill you to silence you.” Being aware of the situation of 'Treasuring a Jade ring becomes a crime', they resolved themselves to keep their scriptures a secret from everyone else. Wanting to confirm her intuition, Guang Hua asked in a curious tone. “May I know what level is the cultivation scripture that senior cultivates? Since you gave us such high level ones, yours should be even higher, right?” Looking at her with deadpanned face that no one could see, she answered. “No, I'm cultivating the Hell Yin scripture.” The other two were stupefied of her answer. Before they could ask her anything else, Bai Yue used her Divine sense to send the two scriptures into their respective minds, and saw them changing their position to the lotus position while trying to process the massive amount of complicated information coursing through their Sea of consciousness. Nodding in approval of their diligence, she picked up little Yang who was lying on the sofa one of his feet in his mouth, and laughing by himself, as if that was the most entertaining thing in the universe. Seeing him full of happiness, she muttered in a low voice full of complicated feelings while petting his head awkwardly. “I hope you will always keep this happiness in your heart.” A deep sigh, full of melancholy, could then be heard in the quiet lounge.
