An Evil Justice
Chapter 11 – AssasSin (pt. 1)
A/ N – I am so not sorry for that title
Mature Warning- Extreme violence, harsh language, death
--* Fenlei City, Missor *--
Multitudes of blades carved their way through the pungent air. The stench of rotting carcasses and garbage did nothing to stop the approaching waves of death. With a sharp whistle, the blades sailed forth towards their target: a lone man. Before they could cut through flesh, a dark streak blocked them like an impenetrable barrier.
Grim’s body moved around like a tornado, fending off attacks one by one while gathering the souls of these attacking assassins. He was a frenzied killing machine, simply unstoppable. Showers of blood rained down from the sky as flesh and bone were detached from unfortunate victims. Unknowingly, Grim had fallen into a trance, his body no longer in his control.
The Blood Drop Assassins did not bother to pay attention to Lilith who stood to the side, grimacing at each drop of blood that rained down on her alluring body. Both Grim’s and her illusion had been broken long ago, revealing her now red dress, dripping with crimson liquid. Though it felt disgusting, her mind was completely occupied by the battle before her. Tens upon tens of assassins danced around the lone figure of Grim, who acted like a fortress, blocking any incoming attacks and sending off his own fatal blows.
This graceful battle between Grim and the Blood Drop Assassins seems almost like an elegant dance of death. Every blow was thrown with purpose and bravery, every movement was done with overwhelming finesse and beauty. The previous fight between the Emissaries of Pride and Wrath seem almost superficial, without passion.
More and more assassins surrounded Grim and struck without remorse, but while many of them achieved to cover the Reaper with wounds, it was at the expense of their lives. Their blood and limbs fell like a torrent of rose petals. It was such a beautiful artwork from the death of many.
With every life he extinguishes, Grim’s body felt stronger and more energized. It was an unprecedented feeling of elation! His body, weapons and cloak grew more and more powerful with each soul he devours with his blades. The trickle of power strengthening him felt like a drug, bringing him to grow faster and more ruthless with his strikes. Pitiful screams came from the assassins’ mouths as they fell one by one, but none of them dared to retreat.

They cannot lose!
Slowly, the corpses piled up, leaving behind crimson hills with each step Grim takes toward the rustic building, supposedly the Blood Drop Assassin’s headquarters. He knew that his body thirsts for more blood, more tortured screams, but he must complete the mission! Taking control of his murderous intents, the Reaper leaped high into the air and landed nearby Lilith’s blood-drenched body. Her eyes were red with anger like her previously white dress, but she withheld her own murderous intents.
“Blood Drop Assassin’s we simply wanted to ask to meet your leader, is that too difficult to ask?” Lilith’s soft voice pierced their ears. While many of the assassins felt enraged watching their comrades die, they also felt fear and regret. They’ve lost too many lives for the sake of bringing down these two troublesome individuals.
Their eyes shifted over to the fearsome man, whose cloak of darkness seemed to wriggle around like a parasite. With slight hesitation, one of them inquired, “What are your goals in meeting our head?”
“A simple business deal!” Lilith’s eyes were hopeful. While she felt disdain for many individuals, she knew that each life the Reaper takes would harm themselves instead. An information network can only be effective if it actually has members working for it. Staring at the piles of corpses littering the now crowded and red square, regret was strung in her eyes.
Hearing her words astonished the assassins beyond belief. Many lives were lost in trying to drive away a potential partner, all due to their recklessness. An even stronger regret doused their desires to fight the moment they heard her words. They felt hate for Grim and Lilith, but even more so for themselves.
Swallowing down their intense loathing and regret, the sea of red parted a way toward their headquarters. Seeing them do so lit a spark of delight in Lilith’s eyes. While many of the assassins held tightly onto their weapons, they didn’t dare attack the two of them as they walked through.
Drops of blood splashed as Grim and Lilith stepped into the puddles of blood dotting the bloodied square. Instantly, the previously hostile environment grew milder, but the tension in the air was still quite overwhelming. The assassins began to grieve the deaths of their comrades while glaring hateful eyes at Grim, but they did not bother to act out in fear of losing their own. Several of them started to collect the corpses and limbs in hopes of providing a proper burial.

While they may be heartless assassins who would kill even children or the elderly, they treated each other as family. Seeing their members’ bodies defiled by filthy criminals, the homeless or rats was too much for them to handle. They knew it was quite hypocritical, but why would they care about their victims?
As the two Emissaries approached the quaint building, the wooden door, ominously cracked open. The assassins nearby didn’t seem to notice it, but the keen eyes of Lilith and Grim narrowed as their steps were filled with caution.
Grim’s gruff hands pushed open the ancient door, veiling them in the intense smell of blood. True to their names, the Blood Drop Assassin organization’s headquarters was filled to the brim with the crimson liquid. Vials of red dotted the sides of the dim, expansive room, some of them broken and spilled on the tile flooring. Upon each tile were depictions of various events inscribed in gold, from the stabbing of a government official to the kidnapping of children.
Gratuitous amounts of blade weapons and archery supplies were strewn about haphazardly, a truly chaotic mess. To the sides of the room were more doors, leading to places only the assassins knew about.
What attracted the Emissaries’ eyes however was a massive painting hanging above a stone staircase leading up to another floor. While the walls were draped with fine velvet, it was all interrupted by these single painting. The painting seemed to gaze deep into the onlooker’s soul, shocking and freezing it without remorse with that sharp glare. This stare originated from an elderly man’s piercing crimson eyes. While his features were quite withered by age, it did not redact from his dangerous aura.
The aura of a masterful killer.
Grim’s eyes flickered for a moment when he pitted them against the elder’s. Beside him was a curious woman, Lilith, whose eyes switched between the old man and the Reaper standing beside her. Their eyes seemed almost identical.
Without realizing it, a ball of fear had condensed inside of her heart, but it was largely ignored as the two continued on towards the second floor; towards the painting of deadliness.
As the two ascended the stares, which was carpeted by a darker shade of red, they came closer towards the painting. Even as seemingly legendary figures to mortals, they felt incredible pressure with each step they took nearing the painting. To their pleasure, the stairs turned and ascended the opposite direction, away from the elderly man.
Their steps echoed out in the bare crimson lobby. Just like the first floor, it was barely lit, the only source of light being a few flickering candles. This time, however, the area was completely clean, without a trace of chaos and disruption. Down this large room was another door, much more finely crafted compared to the entrance.
Though their eyes could not see anyone, their keen senses warned them of multitudes of assassins surrounding them, their blades ready to strike if they act out of line. While Grim did not feel fear for these rogues, Lilith gradually grew closer to the Reaper, ignoring her hatred of men. She would normally be too disgusted to even dare touch a man; she felt warmth in her heart with Grim.
Of course, she hid this fact very well and kept her face cold as ice, emotionless and still.
With but a few steps, the two of them had arrived before the wooden door.
