Chapter 37 - Invasion in the Town of Snow Crest
The ten ft tall giant of Snow Crest had fallen, and like a domino the rest of the defenses felled one by one till the perimeters were fully breach.
Ice Giants, a stronger form of the Snow Giants, monsters that towers for at least twenty feet high. With it's harden ice only hammers or cannon, muskets can directly destroy it. And so with the Dvergr's combine fire barrage of the Muskets that the first ice giant was somehow defeated.
But yet the Dvergr's were not satisfied with the victory. After all there were still hordes of Snow Giants and even ones who are turning into Ice Giants. With the perimeter breach and having it near impossible to repair due to the constant constructs of Snow Giants.
With their own mana also being depleted, the Dvergr's also started retreating and run back to an outpost in order to take a rest while the Black Snow Tribesmen and the Mercenaries would take care of them for a while.
Burst of spells and large sound of ice cracking and breaking had turn the entire town into a loud battlefield. Blood were splattered everywhere as the garrisoned forces were fighting the Snow Giant hordes and breaking apart every snow giant that would turn into Ice Giants.
Buildings and stalls were being destroyed and the once peaceful town of Snow Crest has been turn upside down.Oddly the Merchant stalls and shops were strangely being targeted and the establishments that provides accommodates has also been severely crush.
Pubs and Taverns, were turn into bases by the mercenaries and the owners were also being lenient and did not try to stop the mercenaries after a lot of consideration. After all if the mercenaries takes shelter on their building then wouldn't that mean they would be protected in exchange for giving them a place to rest and warm ale to keep them from the cold? And thus the owners of the establishments grit their teeth due to the loss of profit and just and think about such things after the storm passes.

Next, the resident of the towns who is now evacuating their houses in hurry as they entered the stronghold of the town lord in search for protection. But sadly some did not make in time and didn't manage to enter the stronghold.
Among the citizens there were distraught but was calmed down when a citizen took the lead and decided to lead them to fort of the Black Snow Tribe. There they were able to enter the fort of the Black Snow Tribe, but since space was limited some were forced to camp out in the cold outdoors.
And so in order to fend off the cold winds the citizens then made a group to gather logs that can be burn so that they can use it to make a bonfire. After that, the citizens were able to manage a bonfire and was a bit better.
After all, it would be a lot better to stay in the courtyard of the Black Snow Tribe rather than wait on their homes in the mercy of the monsters who have invaded their town. Besides there was a sense of safety in the territory of the Black Snow Tribe.
Naturally the Black Snow Tribe is willing to protect the citizens of their hometown. With all the Tribesmen of the Black Snow being raised and born in Snow Crest how could they not share their current grievances? The Black Snow Tribe made an oath towards their hometown and they intend to keep it despite the looming darkness that crawls..

At the moment, in the rooftop of a still standing house there lies a man covered in a black cloak who is currently recording images of the event that is happening around the town he is in. Ten day have passed since the siege started and Stian who has been spectating with his camera have already recorded a lot of scenes in his camera.

During those time some have questioned him why he just watches while everyone is struggling. So Stian replied with a single line.
" Are you kidding me? I can't defeat those monsters''
After all how in the heavens can Stian defeat constructs of snow and walking blocks of Ice with a gun or even a scimitar? No matter how much he will shoot the bullets won't any damage to inanimate creatures. A sharpen blade might be able to slice the blocks of Ice but Stian can't just continuously hack it with a body without mana.
He might be able to subdue them by forming a giant hammer and smashing them directly in the head down to the chest but something like that is impractical due to weight issues and the speed of the swing. Not to mention that before he can lift the giant hammer he might get stomped in the process by the monsters.
So how about turning invisible you may ask? Obviously Stian have already tried it but due to the heavy snow landing on him the snow reveals his from and makes him looks a snowman and also because of that the a mercenary almost killed Stian with a blast of mana waves. So therefore Stian have forfeited the idea of turning invisible since the ability only have the power to reflect the lights, not anything physical.
Furthermore, the giant monsters don't have eyes and sees using their own senses which have the similar concept on how Detect Aura and Detect life works. So therefore even with Stian being invisible in the eyes of others, he would be completely visible in front of a Snow and Ice monsters.
Thus, the only thing that Stian can rely on is his phantom ability. Since his Shadow wraith like form can turn invisible and can pass through objects it is the only ability in Stian's hand that he could use. With the form of a phantom Stian can freely fly through the sky and charged and form giant hammers to pulverize enemies..
It's a good ability but the only major downfall of the ability is that with prolong exposure to the form , Stian would go blank out and feel nothing and is like a literal shadow. If he stayed in the form for so long , Stian will lost his control and would turn into a mindless animal who functions by instincts. Hence why the shadow wraith or phantom form can be called as a double edged sword that can be harmful and consumes a lot of mental strength to stay in form.
And so thus why Stian is on the roof just recording things rather than being on the battlefield since he would be of no help at all. That's why right now he is working as a scout for the current group he have joined up with. And since their base is the restaurant with a terrace where they originally gathered they have been defending that place using their own strength while they made Stian who has been reduce to a scout as he makes his way towards the marketplace..

Hello I am a first time author writing this because I was sick of reading books that I never enjoyed and it has always been my wish to do something like this, to act upon my imagination and create something I enjoy. I may not be good at this and there could be a lot of grammar problems, but please bare with me as I stride along the path of an author! Please be warned about my novel. The first chapters are the crystallization of my first ever attempts at writing, I believe the story flow gets better as the chapters progress.

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
