《Of Life and Light》Chapter 38

Sarah shivered as she finished reading this portion of the story, not at all enjoying the imagery which danced in a teasing manner within her mind's eye. Her son, on the other hand, desired to know more. What with his lower end wiggling up against her abdomen, and the upturn eyes which were directed towards her own. To which she sighed heavily, and felt an odd compulsion to continue the story at hand.
However, such a feeling was minour from the revulsion she felt. For she noted what was to occur next to those who were considered enemies of the Ageless's past self. Therefore, she set aside the yellowed book in order to hug Nox close to her person. Of whom responded with a, "Yay," and did his best to return the hug presented to him. Whereupon his lower end did wiggle fast, causing the tails attached to him to blur in every direction possible whilst nuzzling her neck.
Of which led to her standing tall with her child in her arms, and left the Library as well as the book. This action, however, caused her to become hesitant. For the compulsion to read was ever growing, causing her mind to fear the pages within. Thus, the pair did leave rather quickly, and upon shutting the Library's door behind her, with the halls of the Midnight Castle before her, did she feel relieved.
This was due to the fact that such a feeling disappeared, leaving her mind more relaxed and less anxious and fearful. Once such a feeling passed, did she wonder why she had such a compulsion, for it was never there before. Or, at least, from what she could recall.
One part of her, by the by, believed such a feeling came from Nox, and that it was only natural due to him being a spoiled, yet adorable little hybrid. Of whom would probably be less so if he had a younger brother or sister.
This led to Sarah unconsciously stroking her abdomen where Nox resided for many a cycle. For the incubation period of a God who is to be birthed naturally was fifty cycles, of which Nox was, but no one would know what sort of God he would turn out to be until after his protections faded away. Such a thing was implemented by Command, a system which protected and guaranteed various rights to those who were within its reach. One of which was the Protection of Children.

Such a protection meant that the children under the Pantheon's rule would be allowed to be as such, Children. They needn't fear abuse or harm, allowing them to enjoy life. Any who dare to go against such a directive end up disappearing, or worse, they are given over to Brutus who would conduct his infamous "Feast of Screams".
Sarah shuddered as she thought of the first time she attended a Feast. Whereupon she watched with great horror as an offender of children was subjected to not only bodily tortures, but also their own essence was tortured. Thus, she refused to attend another one, and adamantly refused to allow her husband to take their only son to such an event, despite already knowing Nox wasn't shaken by the darkness of the world. For he had long ago been subjected to it after wandering into one of his father's workroom where he and Brutus "worked on" a victim together. There, he was reported to have helped the God King with a few tests, and even giggled as blood spurted like a fountain from a nicked artery.
No. This was not the laughter of one who was nervous or anxious, but of pure, unadulterated joy. Of which was of some concern, for a child would not normally release such a sound, and would instead become somewhat fearful of the scene. Especially if they listened to the screams of the tortured, as they were quite empathic towards others. Thus, they would cry and scream if one were to howl with pain, but not Nox.
Therefore, she decided then and there to not allow her husband to take him away from her presence for very long. Which, in turn, led to the child becoming quite spoiled, but it was for the best, right?
"Mama," mewed Nox, who pawed at the left side of her muzzle with a pout. Yes. Such an act did cause her to pull out of her thoughts, bringing her back to the present, but only after he pawed her muzzle for several moments.
"Huh?" the Goddess blinked slowly, turning her attention towards the child.
Of whom wiggled his lower end in response whilst closing his eyes as he exclaimed, "Hungry, Mama."
"Oh, of course, Nox. Let's go to the kitchens to find something for you to eat, okay?"

"Okay, Mama." The child's tails wiggled once more, as he was carried off towards the dining room. There, he was placed upon his high chair where he whined softly as his nose pressed close to the small, indentured table attached to such an object. However, he smelt and tasted no foods for him to snack upon. Which, in turn, led to him whining greatly with a small pout as his eyes did search for something to eat.
All the while Sarah had opened the kitchen doors, and demanded something for her child, as a headache slowly crept behind her eyes. This was caused by her eyes staring at the pages of the yellowed book for too long, by the by, and the strain of such an action had finally caught up with her. Therefore, she was in no mood to play games with the staff, as they hurried to complete the demands of their lady Goddess and her child.
Of which led to the various Elven chefs to bring out a few small platters of cold cuts and a wedge of yellowed cheese. For they were not prepared to feed anyone at that time, and would be reprimanded for such an action, as it was required of them to have something ready at any time. This was due to the child having the voracious appetite of something greater than himself, and was the subject of some speculation.
One was that he was simply a child, and all children grew at various rates. Therefore, such a thought was used to describe Nox's body needed more energy to grow further. However, another speculation came from what his father had. For he was cursed with, as all other Undead were, with "that which was within all Undead". No. There was no true way to describe such a curse, nor was there a true name for it. Only that it was there, and the child probably had a lesser version of such a thing. Of which had mutated into a need to devour all food in sight, as opposed to all emotions.
Well, whatever it was that he had, the child devoured all of the cold cuts and wedge of cheese, and desired more to fill his belly. Of which he proclaimed loudly with a long whine, tear filled eyes, and wiggling tails. This, in turn, led to his mother snapping at the chefs once again, demanding they have something for her child as she returned to his side in order to comfort his person.
"There, there, Nox," her voice came out as a murmur, "Food will be coming out shortly, okay?" Of which was followed up by her stroking his head and scratching between his shoulder blades.
"Muu," was his response as he leaned into her scratchings, and even closed his eyes with a slight smile upon his lips.
As they awaited for more food to be sent out from the kitchens, a pair of deep and robust voices drifted throughout the hallway and into the dining room. Both of which were recognisable, as Nox and his mother's ears perked up at the sound, turning towards the entryway just in time to see Brutus and the Ageless enter their sights.
Here, the child struggled for freedom from the high chair, as he desired to greet his father, but was having some trouble. To which he turned towards his mother with tear filled eyes and a higher pitched whine as he continued to struggle. This led to her smirking as she lifted him from the confines of the chair, and set him upon the ground as he struggled greatly until his release. Whereupon he did scamper over to his father with his body somewhat scrunched up the whole way through.
Of whom was quickly scooped up into the arms of the God King, and the pair embraced one another as Sarah approached with hesitant steps. Which confused her greatly, but was pushed away as she was held by her husband, and given a long kiss. Whereas Nox scrunched up his muzzle at such a sight, remembering Maya and Mia performing the same to him, but against his desires.
However, such a thing was forgotten, as the pair nuzzled their child's neck fur, much to Nox's pleasure. Of which caused him to giggle and squeal with joy as he did his best to hug the pair.

Surprisingly, in the fantasy LitRPG genre. A girls death forms the foundation for a plan centuries in the making. But when she shakes off their control, and forces the plans of beings millenia old to change, can she avoid being tied up as a loose end? With only what she could take with her in her mind, and a new body with surprising depths, she begins her new life in a world unlike her own. This is my first writing project in almost a decade, so there is going to be a lot of improvements from me as I shake off the rust. And of course, as the world I'm creating comes to life! So if you like the concept, please bear with me, and hopefully I'll reach the high standards I know you have. Edit (04/04/2018): Witness the power of my complete lack of any artistic talent! There is now cover art for this fiction. Its just barely better than the default, but hey, minimalism is in, right?

Bitter
The story of a girl who finds her life is not what she wanted. So she gets another one. Schedule: Story has been completed. Book One is available free on Amazon and EPUB. Books Two to Five are out now. Final Book out soon. Chapters will be around 500-1000 words. This will not change so if you don't like reading very short chapters wait till the end of the week or even end of the month. This many chapters a week isn't easy to pull off so please bear that in mind. This is a VRMMORPG story, but the ones I've read tend to use VR as an excuse to get into a fantasy world and then don't really play up the game aspect other than pulling up a status screen every now and then. To me, MMOs are about more than the fantasy setting. Bugs, exploits, devs who don't understand their own game, OP classes, over the top nerfs, p2w, ridiculous RNG, cash shop fiasco, lockboxes, raging players, broken mechanics, limited bag space, tedious crafting and above all that, a company trying to squeeze money out if its playerbase while pretending they're just in the business of having fun. Of course, then there's the orcs and elves. This story is about finding yourself in a completely immersive fantasy game, but it's also about what a game like that would really be like.

Five years ago, Owen became a Court Wizard in search of his father who was lost to the unknown three years prior. But that wasn't the beginning of the story. Maybe it began twenty-three years ago when Ronald Bell and Joshua Ruze saved the Illyer family. Or perhaps, it all started twenty-nine years ago, when Ronald, the son of the wealthiest merchant, became a Court Wizard. Well, it doesn't matter anymore, for the story five, twenty-three, and twenty-nine years ago shall now meet its end. 2nd book written in the Wizards of the Otherworldly series. Read Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: Alicia first. This story is split into two 'Collections,' Ronald's Collection and Owen's Collection, each centering around those Court Wizards. Crossposted with WordPress site, Wattpad, Sufficient Velocity, and Rainobu. Wizards of the Otherworldly Court is a fantasy story about the Otherworldly Court, an inter-dimensional (or world-hopping, you get the idea) organization made up of people of all ages, gender, and race from many parallel or different worlds. They are granted elemental-like magic powers and called themselves 'Court Wizards'. They are tasked to watch over the many worlds they come across and step into these worlds on 'missions' to preserve the balance, life, order, anything to make said worlds better places in the shadows but may reveal themselves if necessary. However, these missions may partially or even fully oppose their nature, personal interests, and ideals. Yet, most of the Court Wizards are aware and willing to complete even the worst missions that would shatter their true selves that they will never cast aside regardless, either growing or regressing because of it. Basically, it's isekai to multiple worlds but each book after Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: Alicia focuses primarily on one world while also discussing its lore in detail. Book Alicia is the introduction containing the essential worldbuilding of the Otherworldly Court universe you need to know while shoving in as many characters and worlds as I can. Also, each book will have a different main character, sometimes more than one in a single book, like Jojo.
