《Of Life and Light》Chapter 47 [Ageless]

True darkness fell upon us at that time, causing only the Human to grip about the lack of light. That is, until the world's moon appeared from when the day-star escape to, as well as the many twinkling lights in the heavens above. It was here that we were given a stark reminder that, "This is not our home." My own voice rumbled greatly, causing the earth beneath our feet to tremble in a slight manner.
For the heavens above showed us their lights to be of different constellations. Gone was the Huntress searching for Her next meal; gone were the Twins and their forever dance between the Child God Azaan; and gone was my own image, the Scorned Lord, and the disapproving gaze upon all of Humanity. None of these were present, and I found it disturbing that such a world could be so similar, and yet so alien to we who had lived upon our world of Terra for almost a century before we were removed.
So much was my discomfort of the heavens, that I continued to stride forward, gathering my energies into a summoning ritual. For I desired some sort of familiarity within the world, even at the cost of destroying much of the scenery.
As to what I decided upon summoning? Well, it was the green skinned Goblins, as I was quite fond of their cunning tactics and beautiful brutality when it came to facing off against their foes. So much so that I had four Summoners and a King become my personal familiars. Of whom were to be called into being only from the fact that I desired their company, and their counsel as to the best way to take over the city before us. For although I was confident in my Undying, they could be repelled by "Holy Spells". Therefore, I desired something more living to fight such a battle.
These five, by the by, were granted immortality for as long as I needed or wanted their presences, and were even granted a taste of the Elixir of Extended Mortality, but only after granting them their own territory upon our world of Terra. For their services during my term as the Devil King had proven invaluable in the conquest of Humanity. As such, they were rewarded far more than necessary, which only solidified their desire to serve my person more fully.

In any case, once summoned to my side, I noted a few oddities about their persons. For instance, the King, whose name was Grub, was half a head shorter than he was supposed to have been, and far more skeletal as though he had been starving before answering my summons. Whereas the latter four were in tattered rags and did not have the stench of deadly magicks hanging about their bodies. Instead, it appeared as though their magicks and might was removed by some unknown force, but such a thing was only strong enough to torture their persons, not slay them outright.
As such, I grew cold in my anger, which caused those who were under my employ to shiver greatly. For I was angered by their statuses, ordering everyone, including the Human, to hunt for hides, ores, and meat, "The fresher the better," I growled as my eyes became orbs of crimson, bathing over the Goblins who did not respond in the manner many would believe. Instead, their eyes were vacant, their essences flickering and desiring a release from life, from my services.
However, such a thing would not come to pass, for just as I was left alone with these beings, did my hands blur into claws as I gripped King Grub's head. Hoisting his scrawny body high, I sent a surge of my energies into his body, searching for the answer I so desired.
Unfortunately, there was nothing available for my person. Only the cold memories of himself being tossed into darkness where he went mad and wasted away until he was as such. The same was true with the Summoners, by the by, and I only grew more angered at their treatment, along with whomever harmed those who were within my services. For I believed, at that time, that the others also endured the same treatment, but they were not made my familiars. Therefore, I could not summon their persons.
Instead, I had the five sit or stand around my person as a five pointed star was etched into the earth. Each of these were upon the points, whilst I was within the centre, and after such a thing was finished? A great spell circle erupted around my person, one which would become a great drain to my abilities afterwards, but I desire their restoration. For although I held no true emotions for they who were still alive, I still felt the connections between us. Therefore, I still had a responsibility to keep them thriving so long as I still lived.

"Let us begin," the illusory lips of my Human guise stretched themselves slowly, revealing several dozen rows of pointed teeth, "shall we?"
Lightning erupted around the fringes of the spell circle, desiring entry the moment I spoke. The circle, by the by, was a metre in diametre, but doubled, then tripled in size. Whereas the lightning which desired entry was forced back and raged against the circles I had created.
From within such circles, however, the language of Terra slowly etched itself within the spaces, and a few even became pictographs of the multiple elements of our world. Once the images were drawn, did they manifest themselves, hovering a mere twenty and five centimetres off the ground. When all had become a part of the material world, did such elements slowly move in a circular pattern around our persons, but with varying speeds and in different directions.
These elements, by the by, was a necessary part of the restoration for these Goblins, as they were the base components for creating their species' life. Each of which contained between a miniscule amount necessary, or a great one. For such a thing would be later added to their persons soon enough.
Now after such a manifestation, and their revolvings around our persons, did my own energies pour out of my body, but in strands of emeralds, rubies, and sapphires. These then attached themselves to the limbs, head, and torso of the Goblins, as I would be their conduit and guide the gathered elements and my own energies into their bodies.
All the while, the spell itself became a shining beacon within the darkness. So much so, I did not doubt the inhabitants within several dozen kilometres in either direction could view my person and the spell I had begun to cast.
Soon after such attachments were made, did I pull on the elements around us and into my person. Whereupon I did direct such a thing down the multiple strands and into the bodies of my Goblin familiars. Of whom shuddered and spasmed as each miniscule and great amount entered the specific areas necessary for their bodies to thrive.
As such, within my gaze I did watch as their boned frames grew taught with new muscles formed under the skin. The King, however, also grew a pot-belly around his abdomen, of which showed him to be far more wealthy and greater than any other of his kind. No. I do not know why such a thing is as it is, only that it is as such due to their own traditions.
The Summoners, on the other hand, became more hunched with their clawed hands becoming even more so. For they were of a race which was more akin to Hagravens than to actual Goblins, despite being called as such. This was due to the fact that they were much shorter than the former, and spoke in such a manner that they were often mistaken as the latter. For my person, it mattered little what they were, as I had desired them for their skill, not their race.
However, there was still the matter of the vacancies of their eyes. For after their bodies had been restored, their mind had been left untouched. Which meant that I must step in to help their persons, and performed a spell of Transference. Such a thing, by the by, only copied the knowledge and abilities learned from my person and unto another.
Of which I took my memories of the Goblin King, his mannerisms, abilities, everything and anything I could recall. Thus, gifting his mind such a thing in the hopes he would recover. Yes. The others were given the same treatment, but due to their closeness with one another, I could not give them individual memories, only copies of one that I remembered and analysed. Therefore, the group would be a mere copy of one another, which would lead to many a confused being in the turns to come.
Which meant yes, they were restored, but I on the other hand did not view such a thing. For just as I had finished with the last of the Summoners, did I collapse upon the ground, unmoving as the last vestige of my awareness vanished. Thus, leaving me with the sweetest touch of Oblivion as the remnant shoutings of my servants cried out with dismay of my collapse.
