《Heaven's App》Ch 15: Talent Above Hardwork but Below The System
Advertisement
Many minutes later, Liam had already beat the two students which was supposed to be his opponents to win the entire match.
He was standing firmly yet calmly in the middle of the ring.
In his two rounds of fighting, all of the people held their reaction as if they held their breaths until the announcer eventually said that his team would soon go to the next match that a commotion began to turn up.
"T-Talented! How come that student is still in that weak class?!"
The teachers, who were currently present at the stadium to watch the matches, gathered up and started to show their interest and curiosity.
"He was placed in that class because he was weak. But after he showed his prowess today, proves that he has done a considerably great amount of achievements making the system gave him powerful capabilities!"
"No, we all know that the system only upgrades a person's level, not their attributes, but the emblems upgrade the latter. He is only level 21. That student using emblems to make his skills stronger is more believable."
"But emblems are extremely expensive. Even if it's just an attribute emblem, it still came from the Power Cores which costs millions, not to mention skills."
The teachers somewhat began to argue about the matter.
Until a man, who was very familiar to them, came in their spot.
"U-Uh, Mister Severus, what are you doing here...?"
"What obvious reason am I here? My job is to take students to the high classes, isn't it?" He shot up a cold glare after a teacher questioned his arrival.
"Ah, yes..."
"Hmph. Are there any changes in the strength of the top students of the 29th class?"
"Yes, Sir Severus. The top student, Albert Nietsnie, had a drastic increase to his level! But-"
"Oh? That's good!"

The Severus-named man was delighted after hearing that and didn't even let the teacher finished.
"Give me his registration form after this, I doubt that someone can beat him and his teammates in the next match."
But another teacher also cut his words.
"Uhm, Sir, about that... A level 21 student..."
"What about it? Don't cut me off with useless students."
"Albert Nietsnie and his teammates... Was defeated by a level 21 student..."
"WHAT?!"
Liam felt all the attention of the spectators was locked on him, but what distracted him more was a man looking at him with his cold, piercing glare at the top floor of the stadium seats. Although it was quite disturbing, he just ignored it and moved towards his teammates on the side of the ring.
He just needed to ask his 'friend' about it.
While walking, he grabbed his phone and opened it after feeling it vibrated inside his pocket.
[The user had successfully defeated three opponents.]
[Task 2 was completed.]
[The Medium Reward shall be given.]
[The Heaven's App bestowed the user 500 coins, 2 level increase for every attribute, and 2 level increase for every skill.]
[A Low-Class Named Axe called 'Flying Hatchet' and a High-Class Normal Skill Book named 'Throwable Axe Mastery' was given to the user.]
'This... This is just a medium reward...'
Liam smiled as he saw the contents.
"I'll check you later..."
After walking out of the ring, their teacher was the first one to regain his sanity, aside from Nathan, and immediately asked Liam about the fight.
"Ah, Liam Keene. How did you do it? I mean how did you beat all the opponents much stronger than you?"
Liam already expected this to happen. He had an urge of telling them that he became strong since he was always looked down upon, but he also wanted to keep it a secret since he was always looked down upon and surprise them to death even more.

Soon after, he decided to just keep a low profile.
But Liam have no to little talent for making excuses.
"Ah, uh, miracle...? Like Nathan said..."
He could barely keep his face straight as he himself knew that it was the lamest excuse ever.
...Until Nathan cut in...
"I told you, Liam. Miracle always comes true. It's impossible to make you so strong without miracles."
Unbelievable. Nathan could keep a straight face.
Or was it his natural face?
"Ah, I remember I said something about a miracle earlier. Did the miracle-giving guy gave that miracle after hearing me say 'miracle'...?"
He continued.
Liam, the teachers, and their teammates looked at him in disbelief.
"Sigh. My dear student. You can't keep saying a miracle this many times."
Liam also sighed. A sigh of relief. He felt attacked after hearing Nathan said that it's impossible for him to get strong without miracles, but he was eased.
He was saved from making excuses.
A few moments passed as they chatter, Liam managed to talk to him without his teacher and teammates.
They still have a few minutes before the second match of the day so he still have time to ask Nathan about something.
"What now?" He asked Liam with a disgusted face.
'What the-! What is this guy thinking...?'
Liam cleared the useless thoughts and spoke.
"Nathan, do you know that man in the upper floor of the seats on the left side." He calmly said without pointing or looking at the direction he told.
"Can't you just point it with your fingers?"
"Damn it, just looked at the direction I was telling you."
As he was ordered, Nathan turned his head around and tried to find the man Liam was talking about.
It took a few seconds before, he stopped moving his head. After that, he widened his eyes.
...Before narrowing it again...
"I can barely see it."
"God fucking damn it."
A few moments later, Nathan finally found the man after Liam forcefully adjusting their positions for him to look clearly.
"Hm? Oh, that's Sir Severus Farla. He's the one I told you who gets considerably strong students from the lower classes and put them in the top 20 class. I think I also heard he is both famous and infamous in the school."
Liam frowned in question.
"So he's not a teacher. Why is he focused on me... Is it because I defeated a level 32 student who was bound to be in the top 20 class...?"
"No... Perhaps, he also knew about your miracle..."
"I'm talking to myself! And that's not quite a valid reason!"
Nathan just tilted his head, not knowing what he was talking about.
Liam breathed out a heavy sigh in response.
"Anyway, what's the reason he is famous...? Or infamous?"
"I guess it's because he is extremely strict, but he is also called a great 'master' despite having only one disciple."
"Disciple?" He furrowed his brows as he became interested.
"The top 1 student of the school currently. The one who always becomes a champion of every competition since being first year. The so-called Girl Warrior of the school, Aria Campbell."
Liam stared fixedly at Nathan as he listened. His body seemed to be glowing as he said it.
"What a good introduction you had made for her."
He smiled and turned around.
"I guess I'll be fighting against a girl in the final round."

It dropped into one of the Wells and all that could be done now was hope it was found in time, if at all. -- This was my very first large story. ;) I started writing it years ago. The story follows Calin, a young orphan in search of answers. Phantom Storm
"Have you heard, the entire Bonanno crew was brutally murdered!" Exclaimed a youth in his early teens. "What? you're lying, again!" Another similarly aged child responded with crisp denial in his tone. After all, the crew was infamous for their ruthlessness. An eery silence passed between them. Soon enough, the teens' curiosity trumped his ego, and he found himself inquiring in a meek voice. "So...Who did it?" "I heard my father talking about it while he was drunk. Guess what he said?..." The child responded, he was a natural-born storyteller. Listening intently, the other teen urged him on. "It was done by a single person. When the police arrived, the bodies were charred black, likely the work of an electro mage. Most had an arrow or two lodged in their body, and a few were even chopped into neat little slices by a sharp blade." He paused, inhaling sharply. "All the victims had shocked expressions on their faces. As if the enemy was invisible or something. That's why they call that person the Phantom Storm!" concluded the adolescent with an excited glint in his eyes. 2 CHAPTERS PER WEEK (Canada time) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] -------------------------------------------- Follow Itsuki as he is reincarnated in an unfamiliar world, left to discover where he belongs in such a place. There will be no sudden power gains. The protagonist will have to work hard for what he gets. - This story is not about a loner, he'll have a few companions, and they will not be useless. - Some romance will be explored but not take away from the story. The main character will not be dense. Absolutely no harem will happen, but there might be a few love interests, no more than 3. - I will try my best to not follow cliches and stay as original as possible. - This story is my first ever, whether online or in real life. Thus, I might have grammatical errors here and there. The story might have a few plot holes and other such minute mistakes, as well. But I guarantee to try my best.
