Chapter 12: Idiot
Lu Chen didn’t say anything else as he walks back to his seat. However, his classmates were left astounded by him. That mophead Lu, who's the class slacker for the entire year, had actually answer a college-level question correctly.
They couldn’t believe it, but actions spoke louder than words. As Lu Chen had shown them the process, the work on the board is concise and easy enough for all of them to understand his thought process.
It might be even better than Xiao Lao Shi’s explanation. Almost all of the students thought of this. Heck, even Xiao Lao Shi was surprised at Lu Chen as well.
How does he know how to use this formula? Xiao Lao Shi couldn’t understand how Lu Chen knows this technique.
The method is a high-level arithmetic strategy that high school students should not learn or know of. But Lu Chen was able to flawlessly use it to solve the problem. So Xiao Lao Shi wonders how a student like Lu Chen knows how to use such a complex equation. And who was the one who taught him?
When Xiao Lao Shi turns to look at Lu Chen, he notices a difference in him. The usual Lu Chen would be throwing his status around like it was nothing. In a situation like this, it would be the perfect opportunity to flaunt it around. But he didn’t. Instead, Xiao Lao Shi sees that the person in front of him produces a different air about him.
Maturity, no. It’s more like experience. Xiao Lao Shi realizes that when Lu Chen was yawning before. At first, he thought it was Lu Chen slacking off. But it might not be the case.
Did he yawn because the question was too easy for him? That was the only logical explanation Xiao Lao Shi could have thought of why the boy yawned.

But Xiao Lao Shi couldn’t answer this question; Why is he acting up now? If student Lu Chen knew this formula, then he definitely knows other equations as well.
Was he being a wolf hiding in sheep’s skin? Xiao Lao Shi thought that was the main reason, but he realizes there was one thing coming up; the gaokao. That could be the only reason why Lu Chen is now revealing his fangs.
“Student Lu Chen has gotten the answer correct. Do any of you need an explanation of it?” The class waved their heads.
Whatever the case may be, I should watch over student Lu a bit more. Xiao Lao Shi’s perspective of Lu Chen went up some.
Xiao Lao Shi continues on with the class, Zhang Jian starts to tap on Lu Chen’s shoulders again. Lu Chen tries to ignore it, but the tapping got to the point of no return, and Lu Chen got annoyed,
“Pay attention to class.”
Zhang Jian gave Lu Chen a shocked look as he never expected to hear those words coming out of his mouth. He retorts, “ I don’t want to hear from the guy who has been having outbursts every ten minutes!” Zhang Jian’s voice is so loud that everybody in the classroom starts to look at them when the first words had come out of his mouth.
His classmates were giving the pity face to him. They knew Xiao Lao Shi was going to execute him on the spot.
“ZHANG JIAN, GET OUT OF THE CLASSROOM!” Xiao Lao Shi was pissed off. He had thought the classroom would be quiet now that Lu Chen was silent. But another clown had to pop up after him.
“Xiao Lao Shi I..” Zhang Jian was about to explain, but Xiao Lao Shi wasn’t having any of that,
“GET OUT!”
Zhang Jian could only lower his head as he walks out of the classroom feeling wronged. The whole class was giggling, and Lu Chen shook his head at him.
“Idiot.”
