Chapter 103: The Jab
Elder Wu asks Lu Chen, "Young master, take your shirt off." He wants to examine Lu Chen's body to see if there was something wrong with his body.
Lu Chen quickly took his shirt off.
His body wasn't as muscular as others, but it was still better than what regular people would have. His body was on the taller side with a good amount of muscle on it. However, it wasn't as much as Zhang Jian. But it's enough to see a slight six-pack line forming on his stomach.
Besides the slight formation of the six-pack, the other notable thing about his body is that his skin is as pale as snow. Lu Chen had been staying in for so long, away from any sunlight.
Elder Wu grabs his arm, and after a few minutes of examining it, his face becomes strange. It wasn't because there's something wrong with Lu Chen's body. Actually, there is nothing wrong with him. Nothing was out of the ordinary about Lu Chen's arm. He begins to inspect the other one as well, and it was alright as well.
It was what Elder Wu had expected from Lu Chen's body. Both of his limbs have ok muscle definition to them, but that was it.
So how does he have that kind of speed and stamina?
Elder Wu looks at Lu Chen with bewilderment, “Lu Chen, have you ever lifted weights or done any exercise before?”
But Lu Chen shook his head, “ I never did any sort of weight lifting in my life.” The only thing that he thought came close to exercising was practicing his hand-eye coordination when playing video games.
“Elder Wu is there something wrong with my body?” Lu Chen also found it weird that he was able to run that long without any problems.

Elder Wu shakes his head, “ Young master, from what I can see, I don't think you would be at harm. But we should go to the doctor to examine your body just to be safe.” He wants to be extra safe and have Lu Chen’s body x-rayed.
"Then should we continue on with our training then, Elder Wu?" Lu Chen said eagerly with his back straight. Even if there something wrong with him, he can take it.
You still want to continue with the training? Elder Wu gave him a strange look. He asks, “Aren’t you a tired young master? On his first day, Lu Chen ran 20 miles under three hours. If a regular person had done this, they would have collapsed after five miles.
"Mmhmm, I'm fine. I'm ready for anything."
Elder Wu sighs as he couldn’t reason with a monster, “Before we do anything else, we should build your muscles and foundation first.” Then, he hands him a workout schedule, “For the first week, I want you to do 50 push-ups, 50 sit-ups, and 50 squats, each in reps of 10 every single day. Then the next week, add another 10 to everything.”
“Yes, sir!” Lu Chen said as he got ready to do push-ups.
…
While Lu Chen was doing his push-ups, Elder Wu was thinking about what techniques he should teach Lu Chen. Hmmm, I should teach him something as well. Maybe a boxing technique. He knew that Lu Chen should learn some self-defense tactics.
“Lu Chen, come over here.” Lu Chen stops doing his push-ups and walks to him.
“What is it, Elder Wu?”
“I’m going to teach you some boxing technique for self-defense.”
“Really?!” Lu Chen’s eyes sparkled when Elder Wu told him that. We’re getting to the good stuff now!

“Alright. Hmmm. it’s better to show you what you be learning now.” The moment Elder Wu said this, he got into a stance, and then before Lu Chen could say something, Lu Chen saw a fist coming right beside his face at lightning speed.
Fast. Lu Chen didn’t expect Elder Wu’s punch would be that fast. It was like lightning.
Elder Wu says to him, “ What I show you is a jab. It’s one of the two punches that I’m going to show you for the one-two combination.” When Elder Wu said this, he was a bit smug. He was pretty proud of how fast his jab was. As he was about to tell Lu Chen the fundamental steps on how to do it,

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!

Binary of Life and Death
Monsters, gold, chaos, glory, adventure, what more could attract two of the greatest players of all time to Sugarea, the most popular MMORPG of its time. But everyone makes errors, and unfortunate for these two brilliant players, they have made the grave mistake of not actually sleeping like normal humans and missed out on the very moment the new Dark Legion update would take effect. Or did they? They wake in what seems familiar yet not, but they soon realize their predicament. They are inside their game avatar's bodies! A half-Demon and a Dragonoid are now struggling with more than just power, these two men have to find their new purpose and calling in a completely different world. Will they concur it like ordinary land or will they enlighten the planet into equality? Do figures pull strings in the dark or is everything open to the public eye? Nothing is certain except the unknown, and nothing is ever as it seems... This is an Isekai story, as such, some parts may sound either cliché or similar to others, but I assure you, I tried to prevent that. To make it known, I took quite a lot of inspiration from the light novel/anime Overlord, but that doesn't mean it's a direct rip-off of it. You'll find there to be quite the amount of differences. Just a little heads up as well, you should expect irregular uploads, as it takes me a long time to write each chapter. I am currently trying for once every other week on Sundays around 10:00 A.M. Chapters are usually 7k words and up, with the longest (chapter 3) being 10.3k words. So, if you like to sit down and read a long chapter every two weeks at 10:00 A.M. EST on Sundays, then you can waste your time here! Small disclaimer: Profanity is far and few between, and mostly used by side characters, rarely the main character. When something with gore happens, I describe to the best of my ability, which will only get better the longer I write this... :) Small cuts between perspectives happen, and can hide what some characters do, which will be revealed in future chapters, I'm not that lazy... all the time... There are some parts that are long blocks of text, most, if not all, of them, are characters talking, but I try not to info dump. I know one of the tags says "Psychological", and for the most part, it is, but it's not as prominent as other stories, instead, it's more hidden and scattered, but I did try to make the pieces I did reveal all fit together. Cover art is bound to be changed when I have a good picture to use, so the Yin-Yang is a placeholder for now unless yall wanna gimme something to use *wink wink nudge nudge*. So yeah, please give it a try, as I have nothing better to do with my life, and I am banking solely off of a career in literature and am hoping that I can create a story that can actually be called something more than a child's imagination running wild. The eventual and inevitable end to the story won't be for a long while, at least till chapter 40 or so. I have thought long and hard about the message and themes at play, so I hope you, the reader (who has some amazing hair btw), can enjoy and partake on this adventure with me into my dark empty pit of an imagination.
